The event will take place from November 23 to December 3, with Lahore hosting 15 matches, including the opening clash between Pakistan and South Africa. Notably, India has dominated the tournament, winning all three previous editions in 2012, 2017, and 2022. This marks the first time the event will be held outside India.

The Pakistan Blind Cricket Council (PBCC) has unveiled a 16-member team to represent the country in the upcoming 4th T20 Blind Cricket World Cup, commencing on November 23 in Pakistan. The selection committee, led by Masood Jan, Muhammad Jameel, and Tahir Mahmood Butt, handpicked the players with PBCC Chairman Syed Sultan Shah's approval.

Nisar Ali will captain the team, with Badar Munir serving as vice-captain. The squad comprises talented players from three categories, including Zafar Iqbal, Muhammad Idrees Saleem, Muhammad Shahzaib, Fakhar Abbas, Muhammad Asif, and Muhammad Salman in the B1 category. Babar Ali, Nematullah, and Haroon Khan represent the B2 category, while Muhammad Safdar, Kamran Akhtar, Akmal Hayat Nasir, Talha Iqbal, and Matiullah make up the B3 category.

As per reports, the India’s blind cricket team decided on Tuesday to withdraw from the T20 World Cup, slated to be happen in Pakistan from November 23 (Saturday).

According to details, Cricket Association for the Blind in India secretary had confirmed that the team will not travel to Pakistan for the mega-event. The Indian media reports said that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government had not given the no-objection certificate (NOC) to the Indian blind team for the tournament.

The secretary said: “We were waiting for the last 25 days to get the consent of the government to travel to Pakistan for ensuring our participation in the T20 World Cup.”

Meanwhile, the Indian sports ministry had merely allowed the Indians to visit Pakistan for the tournament.

Afghan team arrive in Pakistan to participatin T20 Blind Cricket World CUp

Afghanistan's 18 -member blind cricket team and officials arrive in Torkham Peshawar to participate in the fourth Twenty20 Blind Cricket World Cup.

Afghanistan is taking part in the Blind Cricket World Cup for the first time.

The team includes Captain Absin Khan, Sardar Wali, Ghulam Rehman, Abdul Malik, Darwan, Bareli, Zabihullah, Sharafat, Ajmal, Samiullah, Farman, Fahim, Asad, Rohullah, Zahid, Izat, Ehsan Samim.

Sanaullah Khan Marwat is the team Coach, while Dr Shafiq is Physio and Syed Jalal is the Trainer.

Two players of the team will join the team after getting the visa. Meanwhile, the South African blind cricket team will arrive at Allama Iqbal International Airport Lahore on Wednesday, November 20 at 8 am. The other teams will arrive in Lahore on Thursday, November 21.

'Significant Setback': Captain Says After India Withdraws From Blind T20 World Cup In Pakistan

Captain Durga Rao Tompaki on Wednesday said it is disheartening to miss out on the chance to compete in the T20 Blind Cricket World Cup in Pakistan following India's withdrawal from the tournament while the national federation described the development as a "setback".

The Indian team withdrew from the tournament after the government denied the permission to travel to Pakistan due to security concerns.

The Indian team was supposed to cross the Wagah border on Wednesday for the event, scheduled to begin on Saturday.

"We play with passion, and we represent our country with immense pride. We have always looked forward to competing at the biggest stage, and it is disheartening to miss out on this opportunity," Tompaki said in a media release.

"However, we know that the next World Cup is just around the corner, and we remain committed to our training and preparation." The Cricket Association for the Blind in India (CABI) had conducted a 25-day training camp in New Delhi before selecting the World Cup squad.

"We have had a successful coaching camp and have seen emerging talent that we believe can lead our team to greater heights. It’s time to nurture these talents and ensure that our team is ready when the next tournament comes," Tompaki added.

The team had initially got a No Objection Certificate (NOC), at no-cost to the government, from the Sports Ministry to participate in the tournament. However, it couldn't get clearance from the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA).

"While this is a significant setback for the team, CABI fully respects the government's concerns and the decision for the same," CABI said in a statement.

“The team had been training rigorously and was eager to compete. However, we prioritise the government's guidance and remain steadfast in our commitment to the continued development of Blind Cricket in India.”

"Though the timing of the next World Cup remains uncertain, the commitment to the sport and the country remains unwavering," the statement read.

The government has also not given clearance to the Indian national cricket team to travel to Pakistan for next year’s ICC Champions Trophy.

The BCCI had informed the International Cricket Council (ICC) about India's inability to travel to Pakistan and the global governing body, in turn, passed the information to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

Blind T20 WC: Pakistan defeat South Africa by 8 wickets

In the opening match of the Blind Cricket T20 World Cup held in Lahore on Saturday, Pakistan triumphed over South Africa by eight wickets.

South Africa batted first and posted a total of 129 runs for the loss of eight wickets in their allotted twenty overs. In response, Pakistan chased down the target in just 10.3 overs, losing only two wickets in the process.

In the second game at Saeed Sports City, Sri Lanka secured a commanding 70-run victory over Nepal.

After being invited to bat, Sri Lanka amassed 195 for four in 20 overs. Opener Damith Sandaruwan smashed the first century of the World Cup, remaining unbeaten on 100, supported by Maduwantha's 23 runs.

Nepal, in response, managed 125 for 8 in their allotted overs. Durga Datta scored 24, while Naresh added 23 to their total.

Sri Lanka and Bangladesh secure victories on Day 2 of Blind T20 Cricket World Cup

On the second day of the 4th T20 Blind Cricket World Cup, organized by the Pakistan Blind Cricket Council, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh claimed impressive victories.

At the Ghani Institute Cricket Ground, DHA, Sri Lanka won the toss and elected to bowl first against Afghanistan. Afghanistan scored 120 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in their 20 overs. Captain Abasin led the way with 44 runs, including 4 boundaries, while Sharafat contributed a solid 38 runs. Damith Sandaruwan picked up 2 wickets for Sri Lanka.

In response, Sri Lanka chased the target comfortably in 12.3 overs with 2 wickets down, marking their second consecutive victory in the tournament. Chandana Deshappriya scored 54, and Damith Sandaruwan remained unbeaten with 49 runs. Sandaruwan was named Player of the Match, with the award presented by Usman Javed, Business Head of Habib Metro, and Syed Sultan Shah, President of the World Blind Cricket Council.

Meanwhile at Saeed Sports City, Bangladesh defeated Nepal by 67 runs. Batting first, Bangladesh posted a total of 179 runs in 20 overs, with captain Arif Hussain smashing 54 runs, including 6 boundaries, and Muhammad Salman adding 34 runs. Nepal, in reply, managed 112 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in 20 overs. Bharat Dhapa top-scored for Nepal with 31 runs. Arif Hussain was declared Player of the Match for his outstanding performance.

On Monday, November 25, Sri Lanka will face Bangladesh at Bagh-e-Jinnah Ground, while Afghanistan will compete against Nepal at Ghani Institute Cricket Ground.

Lahore: Pakistan's blind cricket team continued its winning streak in the Blind Cricket T20 World Cup with a commanding 8-wicket victory over Bangladesh at Bagh-e-Jinnah Ground, Lahore.

This marks Pakistan's second consecutive win in the tournament, further solidifying their strong start. Bangladesh, electing to bat first after winning the toss, posted a total of 145 runs for the loss of six wickets in their allotted 20 overs. Muhammad Salman was the standout performer for Bangladesh, scoring 43 off 31 balls, supported by Tarif Rehan’s 30 runs off 32 deliveries. Pakistan’s disciplined bowling restricted the Bangladeshi side from achieving a bigger total.

In reply, Pakistan's batters delivered a clinical performance, chasing down the target in just 12.4 overs. Muhammad Safdar laid a solid foundation with 41 runs off 29 balls, while Niamatullah contributed 34 runs off an equal number of deliveries. However, it was Badar Munir’s explosive unbeaten 28 off 9 balls that sealed the victory in style for Pakistan.

Elsewhere in the tournament, Afghanistan received a walkover against India in their scheduled match for November 26. At the Ghani Institute Cricket Ground, Nepal edged out South Africa in a nail-biting contest, winning by 11 runs. Nepal posted 198 for 4 in their 20 overs, courtesy of Naresh Chaudhary’s commanding 80 off 57 balls and Sagar Lama’s brisk 40 off 29. South Africa’s Buhle Bhidla scored an unbeaten century (100 off 71 balls), but their total of 187 for 2 fell short.

Blind cricket teams from South Africa, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal, Afghanistan, and Pakistan have already arrived in the city. The teams were given a warm and enthusiastic reception upon their arrival, with traditional drum beats and bouquets presented to the captains of all participating sides.

Two matches will be played on November 29. At 11:00 am, Pakistan will face Sri Lanka at Multan Cricket Stadium, while South Africa will take on Afghanistan at the DHA Cricket Ground, also starting at 11:00 am.

MULTAN: South Africa delivered a commanding performance by defeating Afghanistan by nine wickets at the DHA Ground while Pakistan registered a resounding nine-wicket victory over Sri Lanka at Multan Cricket Stadium in the ongoing Blind T20 Cricket World Cup in Multan.

After winning the toss, Afghanistan opted to bat and posted a competitive total of 171 for 7 in their 20 overs. Captain Abasin led the charge with a splendid 63 off 52 balls, while Daran contributed 30 runs off 22 deliveries. In response, South Africa achieved the target in just 11.4 overs, losing only one wicket. In the first semifinal at Multan Cricket Stadium, Pakistan won the toss and invited Nepal to bat first. Nepal managed 94 runs for the loss of seven wickets in their 20 overs, with Durga Datta top-scoring with 40 off 42 balls and Ramesh contributing 17 not out off 30 deliveries. He presented a cheque for Rs 10 million to the blind cricket team players in recognition of their T20 World Cup victory.

In addition, Naqvi allocated Rs 20 million to the Blind Cricket Association, further demonstrating his support for the team.

He congratulated the players for their remarkable win and praised their outstanding performance throughout the tournament.

Naqvi also singled out blind cricket team captain, Nisar Ali, and the Chairman of the Blind Cricket Association, Sultan Shah, for special recognition.

"Your victory is Pakistan's victory," Naqvi stated. "You have brought glory to Pakistan by winning the T20 World Cup."

He further added, "The nation is overjoyed by your triumph in the Blind Cricket World Cup."
