Pakistan [189/6] beat South Africa [188/6] by 4 wickets in 1st T20I

Regardless of what the order should or shouldn't be. I just love Rizwan. <3

He's trying to re-enact the 'safe' opening pair of Azhar and Shehzad with Babar and Rizwan in T20.

If Sharjeel wasn't playing, then Fakhar should be opening with Rizwan, especially in a high chase.
 
This South African D attack is probably worse than Zimbabwe’s. This Magala guy is not even a club level bowler.

England and India can score 250+ against this attack.
 
Dala, Sipamla, Magala .... SA producing rubbish bowler after rubbish bowler. And that's not including Phehlu, Ngidi and Beuran.
 
4,6, 4 from Riz....20 runs in the over and that with a free hit that didn't cost much

This is good a start as any combination of Pakistani openers would/could give us. Posters moaning for no reason as usual.

U need to look the stats he is their best death oversbowler in their local t20 and odi tournament

Apart from the 6 Rizwan hit, all the runs have come luckily. This opening stand is painful to watch.

Babar just wasting his time and effort playing this format at international level

Babar looks to be the one struggling here TBH. Couple mis-cued pulls, streaky 4, rapped on the pads, beaten on his outside edge

Babar should continue to hit gaps even in t20's. Muscling tge ball is not his game
 
Babar seems to working on his power game and was trying to apply it here as well. I personally dont mind it but he has to balance that with his usual finesse in T20s.
 
Rizwan is doing fine . To much hate for him unnecessarily. 24 of 16 is pretty much what fakhar and Sharjeel maid likely would have done .
 
Babar went at a run a ball against this attack and people are having a go at Rizwan LOL.
 
Babar Azam needs to reconsider his position in the T20 team. Can him and Rizwan realistically open?

I think he's better off at 3 coming in and rotating strike with the people who can actually bash the ball around.
 
Until Babar develops a decent power game , he is not going to have the impact of the Kohlis and the Rohits and the Warners.

Yeah cos previously he had a partner that Babar was able to outscore but now Riz is outscoring Babar so that's put pressure on the kuptaan...is that your logic?

Babar falling cheaply in a big run chase - 300+ in ODIs and 190 odd in T20s is a usual day at the office. The only time he has ever made an impact in a big chase was 2 years ago when he scored 91 against South Africa.

He has a mental block. Lacks the guts and resilience of players like Kohli and Sharma. Simply not in their league and never will be.

He is Pakistan’s Amla.

Yes and its Babar's fault. He brought Sharjeel in the squad, should have ignored Misbah and included him in the XI today.

Not a big run chase average score here is 182. And between the two opener had scored plenty to be in touch with demand, just a scratchy inning from Babar today,missing Ngidi, Rabada andNorje.

Fakhar looks to be a different batsman. Hugely improved than 2 years back.
 
The opening partnership that should have been bearing fruits, too bad Babar isn't there to follow at the fall of a wicket.
 
One shot that Fakhar has developed well on this tour is the cut shot. He has worked on his batting and playstyle.

Rubbish...Mo Riz had scored the majority in that previous over of 20 runs where even Babar couldn't put away a free hit...there was no pressure when Babar got out as the run rate was 9.5...so your theory does not make any sense...
 
Fakhar needs to bash Shamsi so that the rest of the team doesn't collapse to him.
