I’ve always argued that Rizwan getting preferential treatment to suit him only is of NO BENEFIT for the growth of Pakistan cricket!
It is not about preferential treatment. Rizwan has been given chance at 4 and he has performed. It makes sense to continue with him till he fails consistently or we have someone who is better than him in keeping and batting, with keeping being core skill.

All of those who you and me would like to see play instead of Rizwan, just had one thing to do - Just perform and they miserably failed. Yes talking about the likes of Haris, Azam and whosoever was tried to replace Rizwan.

Rawalpindi, 16 November 2025: Pakistan’s pacers returned combined figures of 7-146 including player of the match Mohammad Wasim Jnr’s 3-47 as the hosts restricted Sri Lanka to 211 all out in 45 overs, which was later hunted down with 32 balls to spare and six wickets in hand in the third ODIat the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on Sunday evening.

Mohammad Rizwan and Fakhar Zaman aced the chase with vital half-centuries with both registering their 19th ODI half-century in the format as Pakistan completed third ODI series sweep over Sri Lanka ever and second successive ODI series win in the last two weeks after Shaheen Shah Afridi took over.

Afterr opting to field first, Pakistan were met with an attacking start from the Sri Lanka opening batters as they raced to 55 in the first eight overs before Haris Rauf (9-1-38-2) dismissed Pathum Nissanka (24, 27b, 4x4s).

Nissanka’s partner Kamil Mishara (29, 30b, 5x4s) lost his wicket in the 12th over to Wasim Jnr. Stand-in skipper Kusal Mendis (34, 54b, 3x4s) and Sadeera Samarawickrama then knitted a 43-run third-wicket partnership which was broken by Wasim Jnr in the 25th over.

5 out of 6 vs SA & SL combined. Pretty good result and pretty good start for Shaheen as a captain.

Seems like our players started to find their form as well. In particular, Saim/Fakhar/Babar who had been struggling for runs. Good to see them get some runs under their belt and hopefully we saw that carry on into the T20's as well. Bowlers did well and we saw some bowlers get rotated which is nice to see. Wasim Jr in particular is looking quite good post injury.

Only area of concern I did notice was the lack of wickets early in the game from Pakistani bowlers. In 6 matches combined, only two wickets in the PP compared to 7 for the opposition. The bowlers seem to be doing well when the ball gets a bit older and they can reverse it a bit but something to focus/fix or find a bowler who can penetrate in the power play. Shaheen still does get the PP wickets in T20 but doesn't appear to have the same magic anymore for ODI's. I think that should be an area for Pakistan to focus on. We saw the same issue come up in 23' WC and it made for some crooked numbers vs our bowlers.
