What's new

Pakistan [299/5] defeat Sri Lanka [297/9] by 5 wickets and win ODI series by a 2-0 margin

Imam can never play such an innings even against a club team. No offense but it is just the immense difference of skill level.

Abid Ali will make Imam and Fakhar work harder. Abid is going to replace one of them.

Abid needs to convert it into a century now

Misbah who himself has a bad technique will say Abid is not good enough for test cricket and will select Ahmed shehzad just wait and watch this comedy selector

Shehzad is not in the contention fakhar was realistic choice but considering his recent form and his downfall on short pitch deliveries abid ali is almost certain due to today knock and one of his double hundred in domestic recently

Fakhar plays with hard hands with hardly any use of the wrists.
He'll always struggle to pick gaps for 1's and 2's

Imagine we left Abid Ali at home and instead took nephew to the WC.

They had 5 odi games to try him in England before the world cup, didn’t give a game and dropped. Well hasnain is still not given an odi game , he would have took some experience playing in the cpl and domestics instead

What the heck is Rameez talking about "in the past few years 275+ has only been chased down once." :vk1

Agreed. Pointless to include players in the squad if you're not going to give them a chance.

So, within second game of “chachu” “opting not to renew his contract”, Imam ul Haq is facing the heat to justify his spot - this is in ODI team, his by far strongest format.

Dont think 34-35 is too old for WC contrary to what Ramiz is saying regarding Abid. Though WC is long way ahead and we never know who puts his hand up till then.

Both openers going at run a ball or more, dont remember seeing this often.

Ideally we would start building our team right now for the upcoming world cup but as is the case in usual Pakistani fashion we don't even know who will be captain next series, let alone the world cup.

There is a reason England won the last world cup and that's because they begun planning as soon as the 2015 world cup ended.

Need Abid to keep his fitness on a high level to play two CWC from now.

Not watching the match but this makes sense.

He was batting with a 135 strike rate but as soon as spinners came on, his strike rate went down.
Yea but he is still good enough to be in the squad. More than capable for a modern LOI opener.

If he plays it can't be in the middle order. Has to open.

there is definately spin in the wicket now..this will be hard i am telling you

Fakhar should try to get a century and regain his mojo and confidence.

He's our 1st opener (excluding Sharjeel) in a long time who can go all-out attack in powerplay.

Abid played beautifully.

Happy to see Fakhar back in the runs.

I'm glad sarfraz wants to lead from the front and not hide down the batting order.

But it should be in all conditions, really unfair on haaris is sarfraz baat at 4 here then drops down to 5 or 6 in england, aus, etc...

Waz saying Sarfraz's best position is still 6/7 - clearly hasn't seen Sarfraz bat of late or still living in the past.

The overrated Fakhar goes, wasting Abid Ali.

This is a brilliant spell from Pradeep. Deserves both wickets.

Fakhar got all fidgety soon as Sarfraz walked in :))

OK now I am worried. Both set batsmen out, idiotic from Fakhar and Sarfraz inspires absolutely no confidence whatsoever.

What are you talking about? The ball nipped back in off the seam which is always difficult to face.

And that too on a karachi track where you least expect it as a batsman

It wasn't a straight one. It nipped back

Still it's on his pads.

Against Afg. he missed a sweep and got bowled at leg stump by Nabi.

Against BD he got LBW by a Saifuddin yorker.

In the last match he was out umpires call on an LBW by Kumara but it wasn't given.

Now he is LBW by Pradeep.

At least put some power under that shot if you're going for that. Fakhar Zaman confuses me.

Innings falling apart now. Fakhar out. Pakistan losing their head for the millionth time
When will this change?

What we can expect now:

- Sarfraz and Haris slowing things down.
- RR falling below 6.00
- Pakistan to chase 30 off the last 3 overs.
