Pakistan [301/6] defeat Bangladesh [224] in the final to win ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup 2019

Was a good win no doubt but haiders technique didnt impress me..we need front or backfoot players not stuck in mud style

What happened here?
Pak was supposed to get trashed here by the mighty BANGLA boys.

Another trophy for PAK cricket while BANGLA trophy cabinet remains empty...

any one got video of Saif Badar bowling? seems to be bowling very well in middle order with Khsuhdil ... could be good addition ... Ammad Butt was under-utalized the whole tournament .... he shld have been promoted up the order and given more bowling

Well played Pakistan. Knew that these guys wouldn't last long once the top order was removed, the lower and middle order was untested for most of the tournament. And bowling first always turns out to be a disaster in a final.

Saif badar has potential as a bowler also.

Bangladesh should destroy Pakistan.

Bangladesh's bowling attack is completely unknown. Shoriful Islam and Mrittunjoy Chowdhury should have been playing in this series but they were picked for the U19 series instead. Regardless, should be an easy win for Bangladesh.

You were saying something

Shameful win and another trophy winning fluke by Pak. Yeh main nahin Mamoon shaib farmain geh.🤭

Crushing win for Pakistan! Congrats to all the fans:)

What a load of rubbish .How does s.sarkar deserve man of the tournament when rohail have outscored and also score hundred in the final while the other conceded 70+runs in final

Most runs
1)Rohail nazir 302
2) shanto 280
3) sarkar 244

Pakistan won the tournament also rohail was superb in the final while sarkar was terrible with the ball and didn't do much in batting .

Rohail is robbed of well deserved man of the tournament considering he is also wicket keeper which should have been count

You know things are hopeless when the fans are doing bhangra over a meaningless emerging players tournament.

Rohail’s century earns Pakistan ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup 2019 trophy

Lahore, November 23 2019:
Rohail Nazir’s sparkling century helped Pakistan beat Bangladesh by 77 runs in the final of the ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup 2019 at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur on Saturday.

After being put into bat, the openers Omair Bin Yousuf (4 off 15 balls) and Haider (26 off 23 balls) fell early leaving Pakistan 41 for two in the eighth over.

After the departure of the opening pair, Imran Rafiq and Rohail Nazir got together and contributed a 117-run partnership for the third wicket. Imran’s 62 off 88 balls included four fours and two sixes.

Rohail top-scored with a 111-ball 113, laced with 12 fours and three sixes.

Saud Shakeel played a captain’s innings and contributed a quick-fire 42 off 40 balls to help his side reach 301 for six in 50 overs.

For Bangladesh, Sumon Khan picked three wickets for 75 runs, while Hasan Mahmud grabbed two wickets.

Chasing 302, Bangladesh were never in the hunt and were bundled out for 224 in 43.3 overs.

Afif Hossain coming to bat at number five, top-scored with a 53-ball 49, hitting four fours and a six. The home team captain Nazmul Hossain’s innings of 46 off 53 balls, and Mahedi Hasan's 42 off 45 balls went in vain.

For Pakistan, Mohammad Hasnain took three wickets for 32 runs in 8.3 overs. Khushdil Shah and Saif Badar chipped in with two wickets apiece for 39 and 27 runs, respectively.

Wicket-Keeper batsman Rohail Nazir for his century was named the player of the final.

Scores in brief:

Pakistan v Bangladesh, Final, Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium, Mirpur

Pakistan 301-6, 50 overs (Rohail Nazir 113, Imran Rafiq 62, Saud Shakeel42; Sumon Khan 3-75, Hasan Mahmud 2-52)

Player of the match: Rohail Nazir (Pakistan)

You know things are hopeless when the fans are doing bhangra over a meaningless emerging players tournament.

If this is meaningless then why were you labelling the win against India as humilating, shameful for pak E?

The only junior level tournament that matters is the U-19 World Cup. Elite teams like India don’t take these emerging Asia Cups etc. seriously.

If they did, the likes of Pakistan and Bangladesh won’t get a sniff. They nearly beat our so-called big talents with a bunch of players who would never come close to playing for the national side.

India brought quite a strong team last year and Sri Lanka beat them in the final.

Must have been a heart breaking semi final defeat for you.

At least something to cheers but need to work a lot in our batting, fielding and bowlers' selection. Also need to get rid of 60s batting style people like Omair, 80s style like Imran.

Well done, Pakistan.

Bangladesh need to be better than this. You shouldn't screw up an important home game like this.

Well played to PAK E, well deserved. I think, we made the ultimate mistake- never allow any PAK team to defend a total. I think, four consecutive win by chasing with huge margin left the middle order untested, which will always become a problem while chasing big targets in final. Ruhail played a blinder with bat - he has a great future for PAK team. For us, I think Hasan Mahmud bowled brilliantly throughout the tournament and Soumya can fill the seem all-rounders role in future.

Overall good tournament and good cricket.

Excellent tournament for Rohail with strong performances from Hasnain, Khushdil and Amad. Post the U-19 WC, Rohail deserves a slot in the senior ODI team. Amad should be tried in the all-rounder's slot with Khushdil getting a run as the power hitter. Hope Hasnain now gets some 4 day cricket under his belt but with the QEA coming to close, this may be difficult. However, with Shaheen, Naseem, and Musa already in the fray, Pakistan are the only country to have a quartet of teenaged fast bowlers who can all bowl at 90mph plus. The key is to groom them over the next 2 years.

Also, Rohail is truly an emerging player , Sarkar is not, "re-emerging" , may be.

I guess you just saw the shot he got out on not the shots he played before that as his footwork was pretty good and played the best front foot cover drive of the match. He was rushed by a decent pacy bouncer.

He is probably the best U19 batsman we have produced in last few years if he works hard he has a good future ahead.

Has anybody noticed how leaner and fitter Hasnain was looking? Definitely a lot of work has been done on him post the physio’s analysis that his body isnt ready for 10 overs or 4 day matches at the moment a month or two ago.

Amad Butt was already fit but looked to have pushed it further to Kohlisque level.

Congrats to Pak emerging team. I had predicted a win for BD because of how many experienced/international players they were playing. Maybe next time they can play Shakib, Mahmuddullah and Mushfiq in the emerging cup to have a chance of winning it.

Rohail seems ready for international cricket.

Rohail seems ready for international cricket.

Rohail reminds me of Babar Azam as far as the consistency is concerned, however he is quite limited as a batsmen very much like Imam ul haq
A top order like

Aggressive opener/Fakhar(inform)
Imam ul Haq/Sharjeel
Babar Azam
Rohail
Haris (inform)/Iftikhar
Aggressive middle order/Khushdil
Amad Butt/Amir Yameen
Imad wasim
Shadab Khan (inform)/Wahab
Naseem/ Hasnain/Musa
Shaheen / Amir

Seems like a decent ODI unit , just need to find some explosive consistent batters.

You mean Soumya Sarkar ?.. he is an International player right why he was playing ??

Regardless, it's weird to have a batsman who's played over a hundred internationals to play in an u-23 tournament and on top of that he wasn't even the top scorer.

Yup it was weird, Sarkar has played more ODIs than the likes of Imam and Haris Sohail. It makes no sense to have him in an emerging team.

So after Babar Azam we have found another Rohail Nazir who is about 1 yr away from
International cricket in my opinion.

Just need to find good openers, 3 and 4 look set with Babar and Rohail.

Perhaps we can try Babar Azam as opener with Ali Imran, Umar Amin at 3 and Rohail at 4 for limited over teams.

PCB might be really pathetic and biased in decision making but it surely is extremely fortunate that at a time where they have screwed the Pakistan national team through Misbah and public interest is dwindling, our A side come to the fore and shown ability disproving the notion that Pakistan national team is the best XI and their are no resources available.

At a time when National side has lost almost every match in every format since Misbah arrival, Pakistan A side or Emerging XI has won a tournament remaining undefeated throughout.

REally impresed with the captaincy of Saud Shakeel and batting of Omair Yusuf, Haider Ali and Rohail Nazir. Pakistan's XI top 3 are walking wicket while the top order of our second string team literally carries the whole team.
Amad Butt is a complete match winner, mentally strong, amazing power hitter and useful medium pacer.
Deserves to be given a go in the national team alongwith Saud Shakeel and Rohail Nazir.
