Khushdil should consider himself lucky to be given another opportunity, Kamran is rightly drop for Saud.

Babar Azam
Saud
Rizwan
Agha

All of the above are strike rotators who hardly go for big hits, if Fakhar gets out early, SouthAfrican spinners can choke the middle order.

If not Saim, then Usman should have opened.

Usman is only there for the purpose of 'in case of emergency break glass'. Hopefully Rizwan doesn't suffer any concussion and Usman spends the entire tournament on the bench.

I m not a Khushdil fan but you got to give him 3-4 games on his comeback before passing a judgement

Disappointed for KG
By that time hopes of getting through group stage be over. Tayyib plays. Tayyab aya more tactfully than KG, so right decision to retain him. KG had plenty chances already as had Khushdil in past. KG can come good but Khushdil no hope, just as I predicted in past Iftikhar and Asif will not, part of KIA flops.

Salman isn't anchor. He has 95+ SR in ODI Cricket.

Saud is one of the best players of spin in the world. I hope that he applies the aggressive shots that he has been practicing for the past year and which he showed in PSL last year.

Even though his str rate is 95, he isn't a big hitter, mostly plays run a ball innings. The stats are skewed bcoz of small sample size.

Why would you drop him? He should be batting at 3.
in the absence of any proper opener i think he is the one who should open the inning... we dont have any player in the lineup who can play the new ball... so with this lineup i will not prefer him to play at #3

I wouldn't mind seeing Rizwan open and Babar/Saud at 3/4. Then again it could backfire with too much responsibility on Rizwan's shoulders

I don’t know if Rizwan has the fitness for opening in 50 overs + keeping full 50 overs.

Wish Fakhar all the good health but can’t believe that god forbid if he skips a game. Pakistan have no openers.

Strange because in the day and age of T20 era most teams have a surplus of top3, it’s the middle order that os a challenge.

Disappointed for KG
Only because of Rizwan he made a comeback , apart from that no real performance to show. He is not a intl material just like Iftikhar and Asif Ali. Give them 100 games and they would still be mediocre struggling to put bat on ball against quality bowling attack.

Fire the selectors!!!
Definitely such a stupidity from them , going worse down the line. They have called Akif Javed to replace Harris Rauf from nowhere for just 2 matches when they Hasnain and why did they select Faheem for when they want Akif lol. Rizwan pulling all his Peshawari strings to bring his friends 11. When they have Abbas Afridi and Aameer Jamal, Wasim Jr they bring some newbie who has a bowling avg of 35+

Rizwan seems to be much worse than Babar in making friends 11

This is the problem with Pakistan , to accommodate Khsudhil and Faheem they have sacrificed a spot for proper opener and a proper spinner. Then again now a rookie like Akif with no intl experience and domestic record to back with is called to replace Haris Rauf , seriously madness

Khusdhil is not Jayasuriya or Dilshan
Faheem is not a Kallis or Razzaq

For these two mediocre players that have discarded Shafique , Imam UL Haq , Sufyan Muqeem and even Shadab Khan is 10 times better player than Khusdhil

Doesn't have the fitness. Gilly and qdk loft and strike early. Rizzu is an accumulator who tries to stay out their. He'd make a terrible odi opener and you'd lose your ct captain as he'd get injured.

Good to see Saud in for kamran, a much-needed change and I would prefer that Saud should open instead of babar.

Also Hasnain is just like Haris in terms of pace so it was not a big deal but Akif should have been handed a debut here.

Lets give up the hope for a good result in CT and give 3-4 games for this useless cricketer who has failed in many of his "come backs ".

Another opportunity for Hasnain, hopefully he will make most of it disappointed that Faheem not unleashed yet
They are sparing the oppositions. Like how I think in 2011 world cup pakistan kept back Ajmal till quarter finals and kept playing abdur Rehman instead.

Making your premier batsman bat out of position and exposing him to the new ball when he is already struggling for form is not a great idea. If one important player goes out of the team that doesn't mean you shuffle the entire line-up. Pakistan should be following the closest batting line-up they can to the one that won in South Africa, which means opening with Saud and leaving the rest as it was.

No point giving Akif a debut if he won't be playing in CT

Babar fans need to stop crying since their pro stat padder has to take some responsibility and open the innings. He willingly does in t20I so that he can eat up the powerplay but somehow him doing the same in ODI is a big issue?

In the absence of our actual premier batsman, Saim Ayub, we need jobbers like Babar stat padder to step up.

Babar should not open. Kamran Ghulam is not good enough. Our batting looks kachra due to Babar's lack of form. Can't believe I'm saying this, this team needs Imam back.

Why is Wasim Jr. not part of the team nowadays? Who did he made angry?

Lol this saud 4ft guy averages 28 in odis and he failed in odi World cup so badly.

He is pathetic player who can't even cross the 30 yards circle.

Pakistan team is pretty pathetic apart from fakhar zaman whole batting sucks.

Khushdil shah is one of the worst player ever to play international cricket.

Pakistan is gonna get decimated in champions trophy.

Saud should open now that he is in the team and he came in as an opener reportedly so should be drafted in right away to open and show that he has got it covered,

Disappointed with KG removal, what saud has done in white ball format recently to be given a place in ODI?
His short height and cute muscles are not built to play at 100 strike rate even.
KG is better than Saud in whiteball format.

KG is shorter and has even cuter muscles than Saud. Anyway both aren't ODI players, however perhaps Saud can score some runs during the PP restrictions as we saw in the PSL. It's a stop gap fix till Saim returns.

South Africa such chickens when it comes to chasing. If I had a weakness I would want to rectify it, rather than ignoring it until it comes back to haunt me.

Pakistan problem is playing 50 overs at, so the least we can expect from Saud to play good number of overs, runs would come on bad balls. So often most of our main batsmen are out before last 10 overs arrive.

Happy Heart must have something serious on the selectors that he keeps coming back! Probably the worst fake all rounder going round!

Babar will smash the trundlers today and everyone will clap for fake dawn again.
I said this to @daytrader a few days ago when he was hyping up Kane Williamson. Aka that Babar may score a century today against such a rubbish bowling lineup.

He deliberately didn't reply. I expect him to pop up eventually if Babar scores and ignore the bowling quality.

With that cutest muscles he single handedly won us 2nd ODI match and series against SAF last month by playing an excellent knock.

True. all the lulloo selectors had to do was find an acceptable replacement for Saim up top, but of course they went and messed up the whole squad.

Naseem Shah averaged 37 plus in odis and 42 plus in tests in last 1 year . He will be the biggest burden in coming CT
