Pakistan (61/0) defeat Zimbabwe (57) comprehensively by 10 wickets to clinch the 3-match T20I series by an unassailable 2-0 lead

Feels so good to finally see a good wrist spinner play for Pakistan. Ever since Shadab fell off with his bowling Pakistan really missed a genuine wrist spinner who takes wickets in the middle

Can’t tell if this is Sufyan’s ability or Zimb making him look unplayable. Guess we’ll find out against tougher sides but kudos to Sufyan.

I know its only Zimbabwe but this spinner is good. We must be careful about him when we face Pakistan next which may very well be in spin friendly UAE conditions in CT.

@Devadwal

Remains to be seen how Muqeem will react after getting whacked but early signs are promising.
If you watch the Emerging Asia Cup and specially the match against India. You will see that he was relatively calm and did not crumbled under pressure. Took the wicket of Tilak and others when India was charging in the middle.

Still early days but his temperament looks good. At least when you compare to the likes of Usama Mirs and Zahid Mehmoods

This is not only Zimbabwe at all.

They beat us in the first one day. We got battered by Bangladesh so we are real minnows to be honest

Yeah man. I can't believe Pakistan wasted opportunities on those losers.

This nerd abrar should be kicked out as well.

Arafat minhas should be given opportunities along with Faisal Akram.

Looks like an easy win I'm glad. Is anyone getting frustrated at why it's taking so long for Pakistan to name their squads to South Africa? The first match is less than a week away and there is no official squad.

I didn't watch the any Ball of this series live so don't know how Sufiyan Muqeem is bowling .

I'll tell you once i have seen him .

For Abrar nothing to worry about it .he is average bowler.

Omair bin Yousuf should be given more chances, Babar, rizwan, agha all must be kicked out of t20 team

Keep in mind you are playing Zimbabwe. I don't understand how easily some fans gets over excited. Put the same team infront of the top nations and the results will be very different.

They're new to this level, they'll struggle initially however they'll perform better than rizwan babar in long run

Blessing Muzrabani not very blessed again, he be like: ‘Babar/Rizwan, where art thou in the PP :(

Yes, what we really want to do is, allow Babar & Rizwan to pad their records against these teams and then secure their spots for internationals which they can’t compete in. How dare we use these series to let these youth peasants develop further.

Aqib should be ruthless rest Saim, Haris next game play haseebullah and Arafat minhas maybe also Salman and get Qasim Akram but then I can’t think who will be skipper

he's just butt hurt that the team is winning without rizwan and babar
It's thanks to Aqib.

The only reason people have issues qith aqib is that he made rizwan and Agha captain however misbah and ramiz forced his hand.

Their genuinely isn't anyone else besides saud shakeel. Misbah deliberately planned it this way.

However he

A) Is getting rid of Pseudo allrounders and free riders like shadab and Chacha.

B) Taking away all power of selecting the 15 from the captain so no dosti yaari nonsense, Although he hasn't taken away playing 11 power so unfortunately that's a setback.

C) Backed Saim Ayub + backed domestic performers.

D) Won eng, Aus and Zimb series but yes t20 aus whitewash is on him.

E) Got rid of Babar from tests and made it clear to Babar that sa is his last chance, If Babar fails SA, That's the end of bobby.

His only crime is Agha and Rizzu as captains but honestly idc, Aqib has a plan with saim ayub and it's obvious. It's why I made that saim captain thread.

Pakistan skipper, Salman Ali Agha answered following queries in post match presentation:

Q: Thoughts on winning today's game and role of toss:

Thats how we want to play. We don't want to depend on the outcome of the toss to win games as we are a good team. We can bat first and win the game and likewise do the same with bowling because I believe we are a quality side. And the way, the youngsters are coming through and making impact on the bigger stage is quite heartening and amazing.

Q: Thoughts on Good bowling changes and it's dividends:

Yes, we had plans and our bowlers executed them really well. They (pacers) hit the deck hard, targeted the stumps and the way they done that was quite amazing.

And on spinners, they just have been outstanding throughout the series. The way Abrar and Sufiyan bowled in this game is outstanding.

Q: After the whitewash against Australia in T20I, this series victory must be rewarding for your side:

Yes, I am very happy and the team is very happy too. It is great to win the series here. We couldn't win in Australia but we won here and we would look forward to win the upcoming series in future.

Ya true bro aqib has changed the team now we are seeing youngsters playing and getting chances in ramiz and babar era these spinners would have been nowhere the team all hail great aqib.

He's been a breathe of fresh air. However I'm worried for sa series. Let see what happens.

I still believe aqib should quickly take a stand.

So far I am not a fan of Aqib supporting Abdullah, Agha and Rizwan.

He really needs to take a stand and replace Agha with Fakhar and once fakhar retires trust omair bin Yousaf to take the mantle and he and saim can open.

Replace Agha with Saud Shakeel as Agha ain't a bowler, he'll he a trundler on pitches that don't provide him the optimal output and Saud shakeel is a better batsmen. Agha should only play test cricket.

And with rizwan, Aqib should take a step further and also takes away all playing 11 decisons not just playing 15 and forces rizzu to bat down the order.

I don't think rizzu should be booted as he can keep but I can stand the guy opening and batting at no 4 in odi. Needs to bat at 7 in both formats as he isn't a batsmen.

Abbas Afridi in post match presser answered following queries:

We got great help from the last series that we played against Australia. The kind of wicket we had here was suitable for us, especially for Sufiyan who bowled really well today. My plan was to maintain control over my bowling line and length and today I focused hard on it and thankfully succeeded in it.

Q: Importance of this series after the series defeat against Australia:

Definitely this series was too important for us. Same was the case with the previous (Australian) one that we couldn't win so we were fully focused on the results in this series. We had the goal of winning this series in mind and the practice here will help us in our next series ie South Africa one. And we shall try our best to win that too.

Q:Any message from the captain:

He told us that we had to win this series too by securing victories in the first two encounters. Alhumdulilah, we have done that and we would try to win the 3rd (T20I) too.

Q: Was Zimbabwe an easy opposition?

No you can't take any team lightly in the T20 format. Zimbabwe, in my opinion, is among one of the top team in the T20 format and they had some great players too but we had this goal to win this series for Pakistan.

Q: Thoughts on team work:

Yes, our team work and team combination is quite good. And we try to play the game while enjoying it simultaneously and that help us in clinching victories too.

Q: Thoughts on skipper, Salman Ali Agha:

Our skipper is a very nice man, he supports and backs every player and is a jolly personality too.

Q: Thoughts on opportunities for youngsters in team:

Yes, all the youngsters coming in the side including myself are getting great opportunities. We are getting the opportunity to play and win the series for the side simultaneously and that is something very good.

Zimbabwe lost 10 wickets for 20 runs in 43 balls as Pakistan raced to 10 wickets victory in the second T20I to take an assailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series here on Tuesday

The 25-year-old left-arm wrist-spinner, introduced in the ninth over, recorded incredible figures of 2.4-0-3-5 and 23-year-old Mohammad Abbas Afridi registered figures of 2-1-2-2 as Zimbabwe, after being 37 for no loss in 4.2 overs, was bundled out for 57 in 12.4 overs.

Sufyan, who played for Peshawar Zalmi in 2023 HBL Pakistan Super League but missed the 2024 event due to injury, picked all his five wickets in a space of 13 balls. His figures were the best to date for Pakistan in T20Is. He also became the third Pakistan bowler after Umar Gul and Imad Wasim to take five wickets in a T20I.

In turn, Pakistan achieved the target without sweating in 33 balls for the loss of no wicket. Pakistan’s victory with 87 balls to space was the largest margin of victory (by balls remaining) in a match involving two Test playing nations (Australia beat Bangladesh in Dubai, 2021).

Saim Ayub struck six fours and a six in an 18-ball 36 not out, while Omair Bin Yousef scored a 15-ball 22 not out with two fours and a six.

For Zimbabwe, it was their lowest total in 157 T20Is and fourth lowest by a Test playing country.

The third T20I will be played on Thursday.

Scores in brief

Pakistan beat Zimbabwe by 10 wickets, take 2-0 lead in 3-match series

Zimbabwe 57 all-out, 12.4 overs (Sufyan Moqim 2.4-0-3-5, Abbas Afridi 2-1-2-2)

Pakistan 61-0, 5.3 overs (Saim Ayub 36 not out, Omair Bin Yousuf 22 not out)

Lol what to say. He looks like a nerd and behaves like a nerd. He acts like he is 2nd coming of warne with his terrible celebrations.

I don't like the way he behaves and on top of that he is not a good bowler. He should be nowhere near the team.
You know nerds are actually a good thing. Knowledge is good thing.
