What's new

Pakistan [95/4] defeat Netherlands [91/9] by 6-wickets for their 1st victory of T20 World Cup 2022

Deserved a 50 there. But tried to swipe outside off stump delivery to leg stump.

every t20 batsman in the top 6 should have the ability to clear the boundary. Neither shan nor rizwan has the ability. It should be one of the pre requisites to be be a t20 bat.

This team does not deserve to b in Semis....no intent...no tactics ... Just play for your numbers and on safe side...

Over 13 overs to chase 92 v Holland.

Could have promoted hitters to boost NRR

Today chase is enough proof of how competent Saqlain and Moyo are
I'd say throw them back from 1st flight

Fakhar the only guy who understood the assignment and got out trying to blast the opposition

Where is game awareness? Same stupidity got us out of the WC19. Someone should tell them about the NRR

Glad Masood is out - didn’t deserve to finish this game

See the reaction of the bowler who got Rizwan out

This is the highlight of his career so far. Got the wicket of the best t20 batsman in the world

how old are you? seriously? if under 5 then forgivable that you dont understand the concept of NRR, we were eliminated from the last odi WC due to it as we took it easy against easy teams and won the games in last overs... his 49 doesnt mean jack ****...

God is the best planner selfish masood wanted a nice little selfish not out so he can tell his few fans to justify his place in the team !!

Those who are satisfied with this performance ..should get themselves check from psychologist... Heavy defeat against SA is coming boys.. and also bangla boys will beat us tooo...

The most bizarre innings in a pressure free situation comes to an end Shan Masood your batting us torture got a headache watching you

14 overs to chase 92 against Netherland lmaoooooooooo

garbage team should be sent home ... SA please win

Imagine if we had to chase even 120, that would be beyond this timid lot, they would have wetted teir pants by now.

How can you play 15(16) when your team reqs a better NRR and there are 8 wkts in hand.
This is the exact definition of selfish .

Two out of three targets achieved. The third one beckons.

A spinner getting motm in australia is a big achievement. Good for shadab

should be dropped forever but won't be

Unfortunately shan scored 50 against Zimbabwe.. and for management this is milestone of the century against beast Zimbabwean attack of 150 kmh pacers.. shan is not going anywhere ..he cemented his place for 2 years...

They should have opened with Nawaz or Shadab.

heck even shld have let fakhar go bananas, but nope kuptaan and drama queen need to pad their stats, we r lucky babar got runout nahin to might have taken the game to 19th over in search of easy cheesy runs

When you make spinner the head coach and timid player as captain.. this is the result you get... Bunch of chickens in battlefield..lol

Regardless of what happens from here, there needs to be a big postmortem on how we play T20, how the players approach batting and the players available who have a modern approach to batting, because a top team would of got 92 in 10 overs with the loss of minimum 1 wicket!

dont forget the classy test speacialist MOYO as batting coach in t20s... next will be shahid afridi as batting coach in tests and k akmal as catching coach

Pakistan produced a superb bowling performance to restrict Netherlands to 91/9 in their crucial Group 2 encounter in Perth and seal a six-wicket win, their first victory in the T20 World Cup.

Chasing the total down, Mohammad Rizwan set the tone early with a superb shot down the ground. It wasn't such good luck for his partner and skipper Babar Azam, as he was run out for four. It is the first time in his T20I career that Babar has been dismissed three times in a row for a score of under 10.

A partnership would then develop between Rizwan and Fakhar Zaman. The pair established a stand of 37 off 31 deliveries which helped Pakistan motor along in their small chase. Fakhar's knock of 20 would come to an end against the bowling Brandon Glover, with Scott Edwards taking a terrific diving catch behind the stumps.

Rizwan would continue to guide Pakistan towards the target but missed out on his half-century by a mere one run, with Paul van Meekeren getting his prized scalp. While Pakistan went on to lose another wicket with the scores level, they completed the win with enough overs in the bank. It was Pakistan's first win in the tournament, and notably their first ever win in Australia in T20Is.

A terrific bowling display from Pakistan

Pakistan produced a brilliant bowling effort, restricting Netherlands to a low score. They made full use of the pace and bounce on offer on a quick Perth wicket. Netherlands never got going against the varied Pakistan bowling attack, managing to score only 19 runs in the Powerplay.

Shadab Khan then did all the damage in the middle overs, ending his spell with superb figures of 3/22 in his four overs. The pace quartet of Shaheen Afridi, Haris Rauf, Mohammad Wasim and Naseem Shah were also superb, with Netherlands finding it hard to counter them.

Colin Ackermann (27 off 27) was the only Netherlands batter who got his eye in and played a couple of cheeky shots. Mohammad Waseem would produce a sizzling 19th over, bowling two superb yorkers to further dent Netherlands' efforts to add a few valuable runs.

In the end, Netherlands could only post a total of 91/9 on the board in their 20 overs, as it was a job well done with the ball for Pakistan

We have no 1 rank batsman yet we might not make into SF

That's because your overrated bowling attack choked twice. Just like at last T20 wc.
Harris Rauf is not a better t20 cricketer than Babar or Rizwan. Goes at over 8 an over and chokes when pressure in on. Bowling fast doesn't make you a superstar.

For a side that needed a leg-up on the NRR, this Pakistan batting side sure are the biggest wimps I've seen in my life watching cricket.

Imagine India beat SA today, and that's still a 50/50 chance, then Pakistan somehow beat a always improving SA side, it will eventually all come down to NRR.

What a bunch of spineless players we have.

If SA lose to both India and Pakistan, they are out of the competition.

If everyone would have got out tried blasting them and loose the match, then you would be happy. Atleast they won a t20 in australian conditions first time, thats enough for this team.

Fans here criticise current team players as if they have big match winners sitting in the bench.
Please do a reality check what is the current talent that this team has.
