I think Basit Ali has some personal vendetta again Saud Shakil. Sharjeel should not be no where in 3-4 days game. As a coach Basit is pathetic.
 
According to a friend who is at the game, Azizullah is quite talented with the new ball.
 
Good to see Saud is playing but what about Asghar? Can't believe Nawaz is playing ahead of him, Sharjeel should not play any longer format do not have any temperament to stay longer in the crease
 
Anyone know anything about Abdul Rehman, the guy who is supposed to bat at 3? How good is he?
 
Hassan ali strikes seems to be some one good as he has been taking wockets in every match and innings on consisrent basis
 
Saud is a massive batting talent. Really curious how he will fare against a better bowling line up on a good wicket.

No Mohammad Asghar yet again? Best limited overs spinner yet again ignored by Basit. I can not believe this.

Mir Hamza got his first wicket of the day.

SL A are 112 for 3 now.
 
Can't wait for Pakistan's turn to bat. Will be interesting to see Azam and Shakeel batting together, they could be long term 4 and 5 for our national side in 2 years time.

Sad that they dropped Fakhar, should have made Sharjeel sit on the bench (or rather do laps of the ground to lose that floppy belly of his)
 
Who is the most impressive amongst Hasan, Azzizullah and Mir?

I've only seen Hasan bowl and he looked like he had something about him. Mir Hamza I've seen a couple of videos here or there but didn't inspire much confidence.

Hasan Ali has been somewhat expensive. Great talent but needs to improve his control.

Hasan Ali > Miro > Aziz.
 
Hasan Ali gets his third wicket. The Sri Lanka A lower order tends to fold quite suddenly. Not unlike ours.
 
Good to see Sharjeel is playing al games

We have to give him all the possible practise and opportunities to work on his game and tighten his technique because him being of use is crucial for us to be a successful limited over player.

We do not have anyone else in domestic cricket who can play an aggressive role top of the innings. And we can't afford Azhar-Shehzad slow combo
 
Wow that's a quick turnaround.. last time I checked the score was 160 odd for 3..
 
Very good from the Pakistani bowlers specially Mir and Hasan. Altough Hasan was a bit expensive, he has been very consistent so far.
Sri Lanka was 190/4 and to get them all Out for 250 is very good.

Really want Saud to do well. He is a massive batting asset for us. A middle order of Haris, Babar and Saud will do wonder for our ODI line up.

His game is most suited for No. 3 - any proper cricket establishment will invest him for No. 3 or even No. 2 in List A/ODI. Why he is batting at 5 & 6, if I explain, I might unleash your inner patriotic Pakistani.

Sharjeel Khan is the STAR of this side, who won't play a FC match for Ranji relegation league.

Should have been playing at 3 or 4 in fc than but mostly he was sent at number 6,7 or 8 last season while ocassionally he batted at 5 and just once at 4.

I wont mind him batting at 3,4 or 5 for pakistan in future. But firstly they did not play him last match when he is the best and now against AM Fernando who is a decent pacer they have sent him at 3 rather than sending Babar at 3. Anyhow Alhamdoulillah he is doing fine uptil now 11* (20) with 2 fours. I hope and pray that He scores big.

You have to open SS specific thread for that. Can't recall everything I wrote, but in short I would have invested 15 years for him in Top 3 or longer & medium format (And blocked him in the shortest format even at Club level). PAK's batting pundits are not educated enough to realise what it means to have a left-handed top order touch player with good technique, brilliant timing & placement in top 3, whose game is built on back foot & who is more or less genuine in terms of date of birth.

And we can't afford 10-1 all games. Sharjeel is the worst batsman of all the openers we have in both squads. It sickens me seeing him play a TEST match with his technique, temperament and that fat tummy.

I am not liking basit ali for his pakistan a coach duties at all.

But i am glad that our quickies are performing well. Especially hasan ali :)...........(mir hamza can be used on green tracks :D)

Chill. These are A games.

The point of these is not just to win at end of the day. It is to have players ready for national team.

But it's a different story Sharjeel is
Playing brainlessly And not even thinking
 
Bowlers done a good job tbh, Sri Lanka was is on a decent position but we seam bowlers have done there job.

Upto the batters now, come on Saud show your talent a big score in an A game will impress Inzi!!!!!!
 
Umar Akmal as Dean Jones pointed out has all the shots in the book while attacking but 0 defense.....where as Sharjeel has no defence and 1 or 2 hoicks while trying to slog everything....Will admit such batsmen usually have a great Hand-eye-coordination but I think Pakistan wants to make a Sehwag out of Sharjeel but what a lot of people forget is Sehwag had a great defensive technique as well,his downfall came later on when he tried to hit every ball forgetting what made him lethal.

Obviously it is a blasphemy to compare Sharjeel with Sehwag but my point is if Pakistan wants an attacking test batsmen....get Umar Akmal or find someone close to his talent and improve his defensive technique and shot selection.

Shehzad actually is the closest I saw from a Pak batsmen having both these traits but I believe he has other issues.

Well He seems to have very good temperament so He may play Test Cricket for Pakistan provided He does well in next fc season aswell as in this A tour where uptil now He has done quite well. He loves staying at wicket and values his wicket. Personally i would like a more fluent opener than him because than they don't pacers to settle in and dominate.

He doesn't score at a quick rate judging by the scorecard. He would do well in UAE. His technique must not be that if he can bat for such long periods in England.

No Sehwags downfall came when he got
Older and he lost his hand eye coordination.

He always had dodgy technique but his quick hand eye coordination made up for it but when his reflexes slowed he was exposed

Good to see Saud Shakeel is still there, needs to kick on and put pressure on the selectros. Also Jahid Ali seems to be from the Misbah school of batting.
 
Might have to draft in some of these Pak A fast bowlers into the senior team at this rate.

True, please add to that the following line -

Viru Sehwag had the batting intelligence, more in one side of his brain that entire PAK as a cricket nation.

Sehwag knew his limitations & knew how to survive. His strength was not in his stroke play - his strength was his street smartness - you'll be stunned to count how many times he had a couple of boundaries & then stole a single inside PP to hide behind ST from other end, or he conceded maidens from the main bowler & took his toll from other end.

Sarjeel is a better player than Sehwag, if it was a O1 game, here you have to add the word 'ball' after O1 ..................

Haven't seen him batting, but Jaahid is playing exactly the way I would have liked my opener to bat in UK. I think, I explained in last match, when everyone was taunting his batting on the morning session, that he is playing for lunch - after lunch he took his SR from around 20 to 50 in an hour. That's exactly the way a FC opener should play.
