No website would be covering this game, but luckily Cricket South Africa would be giving updates through Twitter.

Just now
Proteas have been sent in to bat against Pakistan A. SA have selected 13 players for the match, with enforced declarations after 100 overs

The Castle Lager Proteas have been sent in to bat in their three-day warm-up match against Pakistan “A” at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium on Tuesday. The Proteas have selected 13 players for the match as a way to give as many players match practice given the short turnaround to the first Test match in Abu Dhabi next week.

There will be a forced declaration for the batting side after 100 overs in both the first and second innings.

South Africa team: Graeme Smith (cpt), Alviro Petersen, Hashim Amla, Jacques Kallis, AB de Villiers (wk), JP Duminy, Faf du Plessis, Robin Peterson, Rory Kleinveldt, Vernon Philander, Dale Steyn, Morne Morkel, Imran Tahir

Just wondering for the tour practice matches, is there an actual toss or the visitors decide if they want to bat or bowl first

Test Cricket door is open for the youngsters... both in bating and bowling line up.

Umar amin decided PAK A will field
btw who got the first wicket?

Drinks at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium. Proteas 26/1. Petersen 15 and Amla 8 toiling well in tricky conditions

DRINKS are taken in the first session, South Africa are 26-1 , Alviro Peterson (15) and Hashim Amla (8) are the two batsmen

Pretty sad that cricinfo could cover the UAE /Afghan/Kenya games from Sharjah but won't cover this. Also surprising that not a single PPer is at the ground! Maybe I should go tomorrow !

One of our guys should be there soon :)

Apparently Smith was also dropped at first slip before being dismissed

i expect SA to Score Big here
we dont have Good Spinners in A Team

will azhar and Umar amin play in Practice game tomorrow against UAE ?

dont know still who got that wicket

great .. adil got him in that 3rd test too

Apparently Smith was also dropped at first slip before being dismissed

But but I though our fielding coach said we had a good fielding team.
My bad he meant the test team not the A team.

Lunch Session report

Graeme Smith's return to the national side after injury lasted only half an hour as he was dismissed for two in South Africa's warm-up match against Pakistan A. Smith was out lbw in the seventh over by Ehsan Adil to put paid to his hopes of "maximising" limited preparation time ahead of next week's first Test.

Smith has only played two matches after six months out of the game with an ankle problem and has scored a total of only four runs. His time at the crease on this occasion could have been even shorter. He was dropped by first slip when he was on one but Pakistan A were not made to pay for their lapse.

South Africa were 8 for 1 after the early loss and disciplined lines from Adil, Imran Khan and Aizaz Cheema kept Alviro Petersen and Hashim Amla quiet. By the drinks breaks, the two had only managed 18 more runs while Smith headed straight for the nets.

The shackles were loosened after the interval with Petersen playing a couple of crisp drives and one aerial shot over mid-off. Amla crunched a pair of boundaries through point, one of which skirted dangerously close to the fielder's fingertips, to settle him.

Both teams have agreed to field 13 players and enforce a declaration after 100 overs. The South Africans have left out reserve wicketkeeper Thami Tsolekile, who is on compassionate leave following the death of his mother-in-law, and Dean Elgar, who may have to come in for Hashim Amla who could be on paternity leave for the second Test.

Pakistan A: Ahmed Shehzad, Umar Amin, Shan Masood, Sohaib Maqsood, Azhar Ali, Asad Shafiq, Faisal Iqbal, Mohammad Rizwan, Ehsan Adil, Aizaz Cheema, Usman Qadir, Yasir Shah, Imran Khan

South Africans: Graeme Smith, Alviro Petersen, Hashim Amla, Jacques Kallis, AB de Villiers, JP Duminy, Faf du Plessis, Robin Peterson, Rory Kleinveldt, Vernon Philander, Dale Steyn, Morne Morkel, Imran Tahir

@amlahash scores the 2nd 50 of the innings. He also retires with the sore on 113/1. Kallis comes to the crease. #pakavsa

Either is raining or the scoring has slowed down . Or the Internet had gone down in UAE

surely, Pakistan are not playing any spinners in this match

Alviro Petersen has retired on 57..so their batsmen are getting good practice..disappointing bowling so far.

Cricket South Africa ‏@OfficialCSA
Petersen feels he's had enough batting, retires on a well played 57. SA 137/1 #pakavsa

Alviro Petersen retires on 57. South Africa are 167/1.

what if both shaan and shahzad fail , whom will pakistan consider :)

it doesn't matter if they fail or not one of them will surely get picked..Shahzad is favorite because of his experience..

decision to bowl was not right one for Pakistan. They needed good batting practice. Now South africa are taking advantage of the wrong decision by Pakistan. What do you think?

South Africa are 172/1

Kallis on 46* and AB De Villiers on 10*

Which silly guy decided to put Africa in to bat. That means we only get to bat once and they twice.

The guys a fool to not bat first. We could have bat twice and made styn and co toil in the heat. How they will be fresh for first test

You're assuming that we won't be bowled out the first time?

That's not the point. I know there is a chance but I would rather bat long and twice and check out all of our batsmen. It's not everyday young and upcoming batsmen will face a quality attack.

Besides how do you know South Africa will enforce the follow on if we are bowled out. They will probably bat again knowing smith. He failed in first inning too

Last time Pakistan played tour game in South Africa it was a 4day game. Why today's game is 3day match. Cricinfo also had ball by ball commentary now they don't care to update the score. Bowling first was a bad decision with enforced 100 overs declaration

Update: Tea time in Sharjah. Proteas 201 after 58 overs. Kallis 54* and De Villiers 29* at the crease.

My Goodness these proteas are looking in good form 3 of them already scored a half century and Ab D is going to make it too.

AN Petersen: 58
HM Amla: 50
JH Kallis: 54*
AB de Villiers: 29*
