I still stand by what I said, proudly. If Shan failed in the tests that would've been the end for him in all 3 formats when he deserved a shot in ODIs by a million percent as I said in my post. He performed and I'm happy for him.

Want to see how he does in Australia later in the year. It will be a real litmus test for him as a test opener.

He did surprise me in tests , fair play to him he performed well and has certainly improved! I’m sure you can understand our frustration on why he was selected initially based on his previous performances. Saying that, I can’t remember if I said that based on Odi squad or test squad as he is unproven in Odis and question is, is he a dynamic player for Odis as that’s what we need!

I am a fan of his. But like you I wanted him to play in the ODIs from the start of the tour. Some only wanted him after his performances in tests.
