Pakistan at the 2022 T20 World Cup : What would be an acceptable outcome for them?

Couldn't care less about the India game.

Happily will lose that if Pakistan wins the cup.

Maximum expectation though is a semi final appearance.

Unlike last world T20 Pakistan are now a known entity, teams have figured out they have a 2 person batting line up and they have a target on their back.

Well I know the way the management are speaking they would be very happy to get a participation award for playing in the semis. I don’t believe that even they think we will go all the way with this team.

Semi Final would be a good outcome for Pakistan. They dont really gave a team as compared to some other teams.

Contrary to the belief that Pakistani batting will crumble, it's actually the bowling that will crumble in Australia. Naseem, Shaheen (if played), Hasnain will all travel on those true pitches. After the tournament, it'll be the bowling that will become a bigger concern.

To answer the OP's question, a semi-final would be an incredible result. Anything else is just a bonus. Pakistan must chase in all games in order to stand a chance, I believe.

Given our teams recent performance including our batting woes, poor fielding and conceding 200 multiple times against England, getting to the semi-final will be an excellent result for us. Realistically there is a good chance we may not make it past the group stage.

Hasnain won't play if Rauf Shaheen and Naseem are fit.

I think Pakistan can make the Semi Final and that's what my expectations are.

Winning depends on Babar, Rizwan, Shaheen and Shadab. Everyone else needs to give us notable contributions. Somehow i don't see it happening this time around.

They can probably beat BD realistically, SA and Ind are probably going to be hard as either team needs to score 200 and we are done.

Now that the tri-series has finished and Pakistan came out on top, we have 2 warm up games, to truly understand where this team is heading. I do feel like Pakistan is peaking a bit, and if they play right combination than this team can find a way to make the semi-finals at least.

Best can hope for is beating india, they will go out in group stages, the extra pace and more so the bounce will be the undoing of the team.

It's a tough one to predict because on paper we look rubbish with all due respect.
Slow starters, shambolic middle order, inexperienced bowlers, massive weakness against the short ball.

Somehow, we have been winning many matches of late - not against Zimbabwe or Hong Kong, but against England and now New Zealand in NZ.

We seem to have a very resilient bunch of lads unlike previous eras where we'd enter the world cup as favorites and not even make the semis (2014). I genuinely back this team to somehow get into the final.

After todays defeat, it will be hard to make semi finals however i still believe and expect us to make semi finals atleast.

I think today's loss would have definitely hurt them... Either they'll loose the moral completely and will not be able to qualify for semis,
Or this hurt and no ball cheating could lift them as a group and they'll fight and win the world up now.. That is how Pakistan generally operates..

Don't two teams go through? We were always more likely to beat SA compared to India...so, I think this games doesn't change much. It does give the middle order some confidence that they can post decent totals without Babar Rizwan

Yes 2 teams do go through but to beat south africa in these conditions will be tough. Even zimbabwe and netherlands can cause a scare for our team. Of we win all the remaining matches we should be fine.

So with the world cup coming to close, it seemed most people expected Pak to reach semi final.

Being runner up is not a bad result, but it was clear Pakistan would have a hard time to win thr final, since you need a strong batting line up which england had, and their bowling is solid as well.

Are you guys happy with Pakistan finishing runner up
