What's new

Pakistan bowled out for 294, stretch match into Day 4, set South Africa target of 41 to win 2nd Test

I swear if I was Barbar I would have taken guard for another delivery and then make the umpires make a decision.

Innings defeat avoided ...
If Pakistani batsmen continue to attack ... they might even win the next test ..

Only changes we can realistically make next match is drop Fakhar for Faheem.. Also we can drop Yasir for Hassan Ali and go with an all pace attack..

Lower order batsmen are not good enough to catch the edge of Steyn's outswingers. All you need is yorkers.

1st moral victory, avoiding innings defeat!! Mubarak everyone. 2nd moral victory would be to make take the game into the 4th day ;)

Abbas is a better tail ender than Yasir, Hasan & Wahab. At least he tries to stick around; almost helped Azhar to win that Test.

We HAVE to drop Yasir next match.
If there was any need of a spinner,it was in Newlands.
No need for him in Johanessburg.

McGrath used to bowl I cutters go tail - either edge it or miss the line; WW used to york

I am surprised Babar stopped being aggressive. It is a matter of time they remove the tail at the other end.

One thing is clear Babar cannot score 100 batting at that position, the way our tail bat, Shadab and Faheem could have changed that. Again best time to bet with kukabora is the old want, Pakistan could not get that simple thing right 👺👺👺

Field is all the way on the boundary, nothing to do for him. Feel bad for him missing out on another century this series.

Bad game awareness. Abbas should have been given 3 balls against Philander

Faf should be using Olivier in short 4 over spells. Instead he gives him long spells and expects him to keep the pace up.

Yah, it's just not possible to bowl short stuff with long spell.

What do you have to say about the mentality of Pak teams that have toured SA and AUS over last 15-20 years. Why the body language is always so negative and theres no willingness to fight. They suffer heavy defeats . Hardly any competitive games

Steyn's endurance is great. You could see his desperation to get a fifer here. Been 2 years since he took a fifer.

I said after the Australia series that Yasir should not play on the away tour to SA. Yes he got wickets against New Zealand but for me his bowling has regressed massively over the last year or so.

This over reliance on him in the UAE has hampered the rest of the bowling line up

Stupid approach from SA. Try to bowl normally from the both ends.

Apart from Steyn everybody is down on pace? Are they already tired? lol Cummins is infinitely superior to the fitness of these guys.

Shadab has more potential as a spinner in overseas tests

One of the main reason is that PCB’s captains had been poor - no fight & often submissive. This is the worst SAF team since their redemption; and Sarfraz has been sore looser on field.

Cummins won't be bowling at 145 kph in his 17th over at the age of 35 after taking 430 wickets I assure. Dale is one of a kind :steyn

It's true the away games to the likes of SA, Aus and New Zealand over the last 15 years have been incredibly one sides and when do pak win the odd test match, it's normally right down to the wire where we win by 2 wickets or something

And Asad?

Played some outstanding shots but his innings was really scratchy. Also whatever he could have become he already is which is just an average to decent player and avg shows that. He is 32 now so I dont know what more he can do.

Babar had started batting with a loose technique. He was a lot more open on the delivery that did him. Though Rabada has had his number this series.
