Players like Sarfraz and Babar proved their critics wrong and showed us glimpses of how we can bat like there is no tomorrow when we are pushed against the walls. Thoroughly deserved although i hope that it came earlier in the tour. Specially happy for sarfraz considering all the hate he got.
We won thanks to our batting which finally showed up.
Pretty sure NZ were never going to win it after they were 50 odd for 5. Or 60 odd for 6.
Good win.
One thing: If he's held to low standards and worshipped for the occasional, luck assisted 50, Fakhar will be the next 'senior.'
Please remind us which senior has a match winning century in a world tournament? 2 fifties in the four matches of an ODI series (one of them unbeaten) when everybody else looked like a tailender and a fifty to kick start a T20 series that was also going down like the ODI series.
If any other senior had this much output, we won't be complaining.
You're not wrong, but I think you're missing my point. All I was saying was that Fakhar has to be held to higher standards than 'seniors.'
Considering Fakhar's game is high risk, and he relies a lot on luck, standards are important. High risk batting rarely leads to consistency, a concern which Fakhar might swat away this year.
He's doing well, and I hope he ends up being our David Warner in all formats.
But my comment really was about low standards, pooja, mureed mentality that's fairly common in desis, which 'seniors' enjoy.
Lmao how was it luck assisted?Good win.

I don't think he offered any chances and batted really well. Most of the shots were good too.I didn't get to see the innings did fakhar have a lot of luck? Edges missing stumps catches dropped or fall safe?
As I had said we need some luck and one batsman to fire, and when Fakhar Zaman fires he bulldozes the oppositions confidence. Not happy with the return of Shehzad but a win is a win is a win. It was an extremely needed for Sarfaraz and the team. Sarfaraz came up the order and the way he played Harris and Amin were'nt even required. Sarfaraz is not a superb hitter [although he hit pretty well today] but best part of his game is their are'nt much dot balls, he makes every ball count. Thankfuly he managed to get push Pakistanpast 200 par score with a slow player like Azam. Bowling was better today, but fielding was EXTRAORDINARY. Minus Rumman Raees dropping Bruce off Faheem, Harris won the match for Pakistan by his fielding. Nawaz is amazing but his incredible save of 5 runs [leaping to get a hand to bowl going for six on long on] and half-chance lifted the team.
PAkistan won due to Fakhar Zaman, Sarfaraz, and Harris Sohail fielding today.
Hasan again looked cold and is developing some attitude issues, bowled half volleys which prompted the captain to give him his piece of mind.
Hasan did'nt behave well at that time the way he ignored. He bowled a wrong full length bowl again which luckily the batsman miss due to bit of pace, Sarfaraz was not happy and brought in the huddle.
Hasan became the no.1 ranked bowler when Sarfaraz became captain of the team. The team he plays for has many options from U19 to a franchisee talent hunt.
No bowler is permanent or indispensable in this team they should get the message. Amir after 6 matches finally bowled full but still did'nt swing that much. Faheem, Yamin have done more swing than our top 2, Hasan and Amir. This is a huge worry. PAkistan still feels a bowler short.
Hope Sarfaraz wins the series and takes over some part of selection or just resign if PCB continues to give authority to Inzamam to play his favorites and automatic selections.
How do you know Hasan is developing attitude issues? Have you met him recently or are you basing this off your television?
I think the whole nation saw it, everybody is commenting he should'nt have behaved this way with the captain in national tv. Hasan's glare at Sarfaraz after he bowled NZ batsman out was unacceptable. The way he ignored the captain and walked away was also rude. This incident is pretty huge due to our seniority culture. This sets a precedent that others also will follow and misbehave with the captain. All former cricketers have condemned it and some called for Hasan to be dropped.
If Imran Khan was captain, Hasan Ali would never have played for Pakistan again and this is the right way to treat some people.
For one spat with Azhar Mahmood, team management throw out Sohail Khan and continue to ignore him.
There is definitely some backing for Hasan Ali to do this or else I don't think he would've done it on the field.
Hasan Ali is not indispensable, and he definitely should be dropped if he misbehaves again.
We don't need another Umar Akmal that we reward to keep in the side for them to poison dressing room and disrespect the the seniors.
Congrats to Pakistan, we were comprehensively beaten in all facets.
Pakistan's bowlers were excellent, the batsmen clicked and put on a good score for the bowlers and the fielding was world class outside the dropped catch.
