Pakistan declare on 302/9 before West Indies reach 39/3 at Stumps on Day 3 of 2nd Test

WICB have dealt with the rain in the most incompetent and unprofessional way. PCB kept giving them favors by scrapping a t20i after the Australia series was delayed.

This has been among the worst and dullest tours in recent memory. 4 t20is NR, now a test is going to get drawn.

Pakistan should play to win. Why they have gone into shell? 6 runs in 7 overs!!! Already much time lost, courtesy to worst groundsman of WI.
 
Even if the pitch is difficult the instructions should be simple score as many as quickly as possible and have Windies all out by lunch tomorrow.
 
Pathetic batting strike rate of 33 when it’s a must win match with less time available.
 
Faheem gone. Blessing in disguise for Pakistan. Get 300 quick and then bowl out WI soon.
 
Poor cricket from Pak. Allowing the bowlers to settle into good line n lengths and on a tricky surface against the new ball this dismissal was only a matter of time
 
No need for panic, let these 2 build partnership, take batting deep and could leave 5/6 sessions to bowl them out twice. Doable!

Not pitch difficult but good bowling by all pacers and veey good field set,not allowing anything through. Of courswe the new ball too.
 
Last 10 overs - 14/1. That is just simply terrible. With so much play lost, logic would've dictated to play quick at 4 RPO.

But no. Pakistan would still play at 2 RPO because that's how you play Test cricket.

It's much better to get bowled out for 250 right now rather than scoring 350 and taking the whole day today to do so.
 
How good is fawad Alam at picking singles by using wrists to place the ball in gaps. So unpakistani
 
Fawad is an exceptional test batsman, who could have got so many runs for Pakistan world over in last 10 years.
 
Not even sure who is slower, Pakistani batsmen or the groundstaff.

One hell of a competition between both.
 
There can still be result in the match owing to WI poor batting

Pakistan have got to be the most brainless team in world cricket. We have very low intellect people in cricket from top to bottom.
 
Sometimes I really want to be fly on the wall in the Pak dressing room . . I wonder what the talk was before they went out . . there's only one team taht needs to be making the game move forward at pace and that's Pak .. they came out defending, batting at 1.x runs per over (16 overs, 20 runs . . . . . go figure!) . . and nwo they've lost 3 wickets too . . how exactly have they moved the game forward?

If anything, gettnig out quick might just work in Pak's favor but they themselves don't want to do themselves any favor . .

We lose more games due to our mindset than skills . .

Rizwan should have known these are not high scoring pitches where batsmen play very long innings. U got to keep scoring while you are out there.
Absolutely pathetic batting from him with the amount of time already lost in this game

People may not like his stance but must commend him for his resilience.

What's surprising is that in far fewer games, he has already (assuming he scores a hundred) equaled the number of hundreds Babar has made in far more games.

Babar played every test for Pakistans since 2016. was mediocre as a Test batsman for the first 3 years.

Both him and Umar Akmal should’ve been playing test cricket for a long time with Babar and Saud coming in the making of a half decent middle order but Misbah saw other things.

One of those people was a former great for Pak and chief selector Inzimam. Enough said
 
The future best batting lineup we can put out should look close to this.

Azhar
Babar
Saud
Akmal
Fawad
Rizwan

With Azhar not going anywhere let him open next few years this lineup should be used.

I still see some flaws in Babar's technique. He doesn't look like he knows how to make test match runs.

Fawad though, looks like he's in his prime.

Babar needs to learn from Fawad about how to structure an innings in difficult conditions.

Hasan can bat a bit but just needs to avoid aerial shots for now.

Fawad would have been a rock in our middle order for the last decade.. sigh. Still great to see him seizing the opportunity this late in his career.
 
Fawad's got the daleri and jazba missing from a lot of our current crop. Add some badtameezi with that Usain Bolt lightning strike type celebration.

Ok, thanks for clearing that up but still, you don't expect someone like Fawad to do out of the box celebrations.
 
This session of batting has been regular Pak special

Anyways need to get around 300 and try to blow of WI atleast in the next innings and hope for no rain in rest of the match
 
7 sessions after this. With 300 on the board it would be very hard to expect a result?

Excellent test series nonetheless.

Really happy about the results flowing out of test cricket with the WTC

Bad call, but once that happened it would be unwise for him to go with the run. Better batsman has to stay at the crease

But then again, probably Hasan Ali swinging his bat is a better prospect at this stage of the innings
 
Never watched Shaheen Afridi bat before but he has a good defence? Also nice clip for the double
 
Shaheen hopefully is working on his batting to make it somewhat useful. He is a obviously very impressive at this age with the ball but, he is young enough to start working on his batting a bit as well. In modern era of cricket lower order runs are really important especially in tests
