Pakistan Army has called India’s accusations about infiltration, Covid terrorism and ceasefire violations as completely baseless and said they were designed to divert global and domestic attention from the “unending fiasco”.

In a tweet – the DG ISPR termed allegations that Pakistan had infiltrated Covid-19 infected people into Jammu and Kashmir as “delusional”.

Earlier, as the EurAsian Times reported, one of India’s leading English News Channel claimed that Pakistan agencies could be pushing coronavirus infected terrorists into Jammu and Kashmir and create more chaos in the already volatile region.

According to Republic TV, Islamabad seems to be reluctant to shed its dirty tricks against India despite the Covid-19 pandemic. The TV channel also claimed that the Pakistan Army is working on a nefarious scheme in association with the terror groups as they are trying to push coronavirus infected terrorists into Jammu and Kashmir — with two key motives.

First, Pakistan gets rid of patients infected with Coivid-19 and secondary the infected patients would merge with locals in Kashmir and to create more mayhem in the region. According to reports, the Pakistan Army has been successful in sending one group of infected terrorists into the Valley.

The DG-ISPR, was, however, referring to a recent interview of the commander of the Indian Army’s 15th Corps Lt Gen ** Raju to the BBC. In his interview, Lt Gen ** Raju accused Pakistan of ceasefire violations and advised Islamabad to change its behavior so that both countries can deal with the coronavirus pandemic in their own ways”.

Raju also claimed that Pakistan was deliberately sending people infected with Covid-19 into Kashmir. Responding to a question, Raju said that he had not seen any “major change” in the deployment pattern of the Pakistan Army but claimed that India was “getting intelligence that Pakistan was getting people infected with Covid-19 into Kashmir” and said that the country was “concerned that Pakistan is underplaying its number of cases”.

In his tweet, the DG ISPR refuted both allegations, terming them “baseless” and “delusional”, advising the Indian government to focus on “addressing the internal mess” which he said was created not only by Covid-19 but also by the “tragedy unfolding in India-occupied Kashmir for years on end”.

Don't just dismiss. Send up your F-16s.

That'll show us to shut up and deal with this properly.

Think these are sad times for Indian Army when they have to make claims like these.

Nobody should make a false accusation during this outbreak.

Politics should take a backseat.

Doesn’t come as a surprise. They also
claim to have shot down a PAF F-16 and killed 350 militants at Balakot. India isn’t called the fake news capitol of the world for no reason. Such outrageous nonsense is often repeatedly to cover up their own incompetence.

I reported the above article around a week ago, added a video in both coronavirus India / pakistan section.

I added a Indian news channel on YouTube called WION

Fake news doesn't hurt you, so in India it is a good business to keep them running. The media secures enough funding/ratings by it, and the tech savvy youth have something or the other to chest thump & shout about on social media all day. It is a clever way to keep your masses engaged and when there are a billion of them, it is a profitable national investment.

Meanwhile, the common man and 'untouchables' continue to die, starve in increased proportions.

Pakistan rubbishes Indian army chief's ‘spurious allegation’

The Foreign Office on Friday strongly dismissed the India army chief’s allegations that Pakistan was sending ‘terrorists’ across the Line of Control (LoC) at a time when the world was busy fighting the novel coronavirus

“We strongly reject the irresponsible, spurious and totally false allegations against Pakistan made by the Indian army chief this morning,” Foreign Office spokesperson Aisha Farooqi said at a weekly news briefing.

“These baseless Indian allegations are patently designed to divert global and domestic attention from India’s state-terrorism and egregious human rights violations and clamping of fundamental freedoms in IOJ&K, particularly post-August 5, 2019, she added.

Her strong reaction came after the Indian army chief during his visit to occupied Kashmir remarked, “it is very unfortunate that at a time when the whole world and India is fighting the menace of this pandemic, our neighbour continues to foment trouble for us.”

The Foreign Office spokesperson, instead, blamed India for increased ceasefire violations along the LoC despite the Covid-19 threat. She said that Pakistan had no desire to escalate the situation and “we have reacted” with maximum restraint.

“We have continuously urged the international community to take notice of Indian provocations. However, our armed forces remain ready to defend the motherland against any threat,” Farooqi told the briefing.

“This year alone, Indian occupation forces in IOJ&K have committed over 765 ceasefire violations resulting in shahadat of three civilians as well as serious injuries to 54 innocent civilians. In 2019, India violated the ceasefire agreement 3,351 times. Pakistan continues to respond to Indian belligerence in a firm and responsible manner,” she said.

When asked if there was any chance of restoration of diplomatic relationship between the two countries, the spokesperson made it clear that Pakistan always wanted “good relations” will all neighbouring countries.

“The illegal and unilateral Indian action of August 5, 2019 and the continuing restrictions and human rights violations in IOJ&K have further vitiated the environment,” she pointed out.

Instead of a big formal reply, the PA should have just a couple of :facepalm: this is all the bum Indian military deserves.

No need to dignify such ludicrous claims and waste time with a proper response.

Minister rebukes India over 'ridiculous narrative'

Planning Minister Asad Umar, who is also heading the National Command and Operations Centre (NCOC), told the media that recommendations to implement a "smart lockdown" have been discussed with provincial chief ministers, health ministers, and chief and health secretaries.

He said that a structure has been made that will enable the targetted lockdown to be implemented on all levels, from provinces to Union Committees.

The minister said that the government was mobilising all resources available and expressed the hope that once the new system was implemented, citizens would be able to work and economic activities in the country can resume.

Umar also addressed the "ridiculous narrative" that is being propagated by the Indian media that Pakistan, through Azad Jammu and Kashmir, was sending infected people to India in order to spread the novel coronavirus.

"What Mr Modi did by gathering 10,000-15,000 people in one place — Pakistan does not need to do anything and nor do we [intend to].

"For God's sake, take care of your citizens. First, you blamed Muslims as if this (virus) was spread by them, now you are blaming Pakistan — stop this, take care of your citizens and we will take care of ours," he said, addressing the Indian leadership.

Indian government forces have killed four rebels in a gun battle in Indian-administered Kashmir during a stringent lockdown to combat the coronavirus, the Indian army has said.

The fighting broke out in a village in southern Shopian district as police and soldiers raided a house on a tip that rebels were hiding there late on Tuesday night, said army spokesman Colonel Rajesh Kalia on Wednesday.

During the gunfight, troops blew up the house with explosives, a common tactic by security forces, residents said.

India has continued its counterinsurgency operations across Kashmir despite a coronavirus lockdown.

Rebels, who either fight for independence or merger of the Muslim-majority region with Pakistan, also have not ceased their attacks on government forces and alleged informants. On Sunday, fighters attacked a paramilitary post and killed three soldiers.

The latest violence comes amid near-daily fighting between Pakistani and Indian soldiers along the highly militarised Line of Control (LoC) - the de facto border that divides Kashmir between the two rivals.

Street protests against Indian rule

Kashmir has been placed under a security lockdown since last August when India's Hindu nationalist government stripped the Muslim-majority Himalayan region's limited autonomy. Low-speed internet was revived in March after more than six months of communication blackout.

Officer Amritpal Singh said police had not yet identified the slain rebels. Residents posting on social media said they were local rebels.

Last week, police secretly buried the bodies of two fighters as "unidentified" in a faraway graveyard despite their families seeking to claim them.

According to human rights groups, thousands in Kashmir are buried in unmarked graves, most of them close to the LoC.

Indian authorities say those fighters are of foreign origin who sneaked into the Indian-administered portion of Kashmir from the Pakistani-administered territory to fight government forces.

India and Pakistan claim divided Kashmir in its entirety. Most Kashmiris support the rebel cause that the territory be united either under Pakistani rule or as an independent country while also participating in civilian street protests against Indian rule.

Rebels have been fighting Indian control since 1989. India accuses Pakistan of arming and training the rebels, a charge Pakistan denies.

Nearly 70,000 people have been killed in the uprising and the ensuing Indian military crackdown.

Covid-19: Pakistan ‘trying to push’ infected persons into Kashmir, says J&K police chief

Director General of Jammu and Kashmir Police Dilbag Singh on Thursday said “it is a fact” that Pakistan is “trying to push” people infected with Covid-19 into Jammu and Kashmir in order to spread the deadly virus among the people of the Valley, NDTV reported.

This came a week after top officials of the Indian Army said they have received intelligence inputs that Islamabad was sending Covid-19 patients into Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir to prepare them to infiltrate Indian territories. The region has reported about 50 Covid-19 cases, out of which, many of the cases are from Mirpur district.

“Certain things have come to the fore,” the police chief said after visiting a quarantine facility in Ganderbal district, which is about 20 kilometer from Srinagar. “So far, Pakistan has been sending terrorists to Kashmir, but it is now exporting coronavirus patients to spread the virus among people of Kashmir. It’s an issue we have to be cautious about and it’s very disturbing.”

Earlier this month, heavy exchange of firing took place in the Keran sector of Kupwara district in which five soldiers of the Indian Army were killed. While three soldiers were killed in during an encounter, two more soldiers of the Indian Army died while foiling an infiltration bid along the Line of Control.

The Army had also killed five militants who attempted to cross over the Line of Control into the Keran sector. The militants were believed to have entered Indian territory from Shamsabari range and were hiding in “Gujjar Dhok” or a temporary shelter for nomads in the Poswal area of the sector.

In the days following the encounter, there had been a heavy exchange of artillery fire between India and Pakistan along the Line of Control. Three civilians were killed and several were injured in shelling by Pakistan in Kupwara district.

The Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir has reported 407 coronavirus cases with four deaths as of Thursday. Most of the cases have been reported from Kashmir Valley and three police personnel have also tested positive in the region.

The number of coronavirus patients in India rose to 21,373 on Thursday morning, but the Indian Council of Medical Research said at least 21,797 people have tested positive so far. The toll increased to 681, while the number of patients who have recovered stood at 4,257.
