Pakistan were found to be two overs short of the target when time allowances were taken into consideration.

Pakistan has been fined for maintaining a slow over-rate against Australia during the second Test that ended in Melbourne on Friday.

Ranjan Madugalle of the Elite Panel of ICC Match Referees imposed the fine after Misbah-ul-Haq’s side was ruled to be two overs short of its target when time allowances were taken into consideration.

In accordance with Article 2.5.1 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, which relates to minor over-rate offences, players are fined 10 per cent of their match fees for every over their side fails to bowl in the allotted time, with the captain fined double that amount.

As such, Misbah has been fined 40 per cent of his match fee, while his players have received 20 per cent fines. Misbah pleaded guilty to the offence and accepted the proposed sanction, so there was no need for a formal hearing.

The charge was laid by on-field umpires Ian Gould and Sundaram Ravi, third umpire Richard Illingworth and fourth umpire Sam Nogajski.

There were 13 no balls in the innings. I think Wahab bowled 12 of those so that means it was those two overs that had to be re bowled that has cost everyone their match fees! He should take the slack for the rest of the team mates.

It all comes from the captain and Whab's ridiculous no-ball habit.. Also the coach should realise this isn't the first time this has happened. Misbah is a serial culprit in this. He tries to slow the game down far too much for my liking and that doesn't help anyone tbh.

Rubbing salt into the wounds.

Misbah was suspended for 1 Test last time, shouldn't another offense in such close proximity result in another suspension?

And somehow Alastair Cook never finds himself under scrutiny with repeated slow over rate offences.

Pakistan found two overs short after MCG Test. Each player fined 20% match fees. Wahab Riaz bowled 12 no balls (2 extra overs).

Wahab should be warned by the management they dont want to see a single no ball from him again if it happens again he will be dropped and someone else will play

It will go in our favour if he is suspended.

Should also be fined for losing their guts on the final day.

Other than cricket related news 2016 has been the year of L's, too much bad stuff has happened :))) Now going back to cricket, this is just rubbing mountains of salt into wounds. I don't really know what to expect.
