What's new

Pakistan finish Day 3 on 137/8 against England, lead by 244 runs

man your hate for them both is soo evident, you still find ways to bash them. you sad sad man

Not hate bro, just need to get on with things. Don’t care how it comes, but ball is turning into both. And fields to Anderson don’t make ANY sense.

I'd like to give credit to Pakistan here but it's all about the toss in England. Win it and you win the game.

Really poor by Anderson. All he had to do was block and let Broad have a crack.

Just got complacent towards the end but this is a good lead to have and need our batsmen to be solid for the rest of the day.

You would probably sell your own people to down Pakistan. Shameless individual

That would have been another 5for for the "most hated" guy. Shadab, you fool .....

west indies won the toss twice in the end test game and went on to to bowl

Shadab has so far contributed 40 odd crucial runs, took an excellent catch of Pope and now two wickets. If he can keep on doing what he is and improving he can be a valuable test player for Pak in the long run. Yes dropped one catch and robbed Yasir a 5fer but it happens.

OK, 20 runs too much conceded but it’s us after all. Psychological advantage of 100+ could have been 120+. Anyway. Onwards and upwards.

Moment of silence who wanted lead below 100.

They are also playing a batter short but their tail wagged...and look at our tail..

Brilliant from Shadab! Crucial runs, dynamite in the filed and now has taken out the dangerous England tail. Makes up for his rare lapse in the field.

He needs to continue to work on his bowling and should become a regular member in all formats for us.

So England would be looking to get Pakistan out for around 150.

A 250 odd chase is always very steep, but Pakistan would have mentally surrendered by that point.

Need to make a better strategy for Broad in next innings and series as well.

Lead 109 Pakistan need to dig in and set England a target of 350 plus

England are in big trouble as this pitch is going to be a minefield on the last day.

Pakistan just need to score another 180.

Good. Bit sloppy at the end but happy with a 100+ lead. Now bat until tea tomorrow under the sunshine.

Shadab further improving his bowling average in England. Junaids is going to have a field day cherry-picking the stats for his next thread :shadab

plot twist:Shadab dropped the catch on purpose so he can add to his wicket tally

Day 3 - Session 2: Innings Break - Pakistan lead by 107 runs

PAK 326/10

ENG 219/10 (70.3), RR: 3.1

Pope 62 (117)
Buttler 38 (108)
Broad 29* (25)

Yasir 18 - 2 - 66 - 4
Abbas 15 - 6 - 33 - 2
Shadab 3.3 - 0 - 13 - 2

So England would be looking to get Pakistan out for around 150.

Even if that happens. I reckon Shadab and Yasir will make the chase incredibly difficult for England.

And wheres all the haters saying Shadab was going to be rubbish etc?

Always playing out your delusions on PP, ita gonna be a 300 plus chase

Who is this braindead individual?

If I was feeling picky, then I would say that the lead for Pakistan could have been even better than this, but 107 is still a very good lead.

I don’t think England could chase any more than 250 in the 4th innings here to be honest — and that’s being generous! 200 alone would be a fiendishly difficult chase.

A lead of 300 for Pakistan would be ideal for them, as it would well and truly shut England out of the game.

We just need 200 runs, basically. I don’t think England can withstand the twin spin for 300 runs.

Accuracy of both the leggies post lunch is a heartening sigh for 4th innings.

Shadab was picked as the all rounder.
Scored 45, provided impetus to the innings and picked up two wickets at a useful time.
Not too shabby. He’ll have bad days but credit where credit is due.

My God!!! You must breathe negativity. I mean what is your problem???? Just give your wrist a break. The moment Pakistan does well or win, you will disappear from this forum anyways or come back to say it was a fluke. Jeez!!!!!

It's getting kind of ridiculous :))

Shady stepping up as a Test cricketer - take that you haters!

Eng is done in this test. Very few teams come back from 100+ runs behind after first inning and pitch will take even more turn in 4th inning. Even 200 will be hard to chase.

I keep saying, Shadab is as precious a talent as Shaheen and Naseem.

22 years old, a sound batsman, great fielder and he bowls tidy leg-spin.

But I wouldn’t Play him with another leggie - I’d pair him with Sajid Khan’s off-spin or Zafar Gohar’s slow left arm.

An all-rounder is not the same as a specialist spinner. But the sum of the parts is impressive with Shadab.

Windies say hi and they ask why were the robbed even after they won the toss?

Anyways, if its so straightforward no point for anyone to watch the match. Not sure why are you still watching it.

As well as looking to set England a big target, Pakistan should also look to tire English seamers for the remaining matches in the series. Don't want any of Archer, Woakes, Broad or Anderson in all 3 tests

I usually really enjoy reading Mamoon’s comments but it’s getting a bit toxic now. We get that we are rubbish, just let us enjoy these what you call few flukes moments

I think it's psychological in the fourth innings. If Pakistan set 300+ then I wouldn't be surprised if England struggle to get to 200, and we would all say they didn't even need that many runs.

But if England are set 250, I can see them winning, even if they are 80-4 because the target is in site.

Did India only win the toss once in five games? In 2018? Genuinely curious....

In the 2016 Edgbaston Test don’t forget that Pakistan led on First Innings by 103 runs, and still lost heavily!
