This is something Pakistan is lacking now. Consistency and longevity. No player has played 100 tests for Pakistan in recent times after Younis Khan and the list is also quite short for Pakistan. Alarming.

You are right here. Pakistan is not playing enough Test matches for the players to reach this milestone. Azhar Ali could have been the latest entry to the 100-Test club but he retired on 97 matches.I have a feeling it is less than other countries. So by design, Pakistan cricketer careers are not long enough to reach this milestone.
You won't have players getting to 10 tests let alone 100 if you make them play in 45C heat!PAK should utilize the 3 months of IPL to play 5-6 Tests against SRL , BD & AFG - home or away !
How did Imran not play 100 tests despite being around for almost two decades? Gavaskar - his contemporary - played 40 tests more!
All of these sides are newer when compared to Pakistan which got its test status in 50s while Bangladesh got its test status in 2000. Lots and lots of difference. afg and Ireland is not even in this debate atm.The heading needs correction since Pakistan has more cricketers with 100 tests than BD, Zim, Afg, Ire; 4 sides which also have a test status.
BD, Zimbabwe, Afg, Ireland weren't even around when Pakistan started playing test cricket. The heading needs correction since Pakistan has more cricketers with 100 tests than BD, Zim, Afg, Ire; 4 sides which also have a test status.

Then it should be mentioned that they have least cricketers with 100 tests among traditional 8 test nations.BD, Zimbabwe, Afg, Ireland weren't even around when Pakistan started playing test cricket.
Khan started his career along with Gavaskar but I think he wasn’t good enough at that age and for the next 3 -4 years he was out of side. How did Imran not play 100 tests despite being around for almost two decades? Gavaskar - his contemporary - played 40 tests more!
7 overall in 200+ wickets club from Pakistan and funnily enough 4 of them are spinners for a country which takes pride on the pace resources they possess. Only 3 pacers in that list and the last of them retired 21 years ago. Since Waqar last played Test in January of 2003, Pakistan has played 164 Tests with none of their pacers managing to get to 200 Test wickets. While lots of hype was created for each one of them who played during that time, none managed to even have a decent career except for Asif and now Shaheen. Shoaib Akthar took 178 wickets but he debuted in 1999.Pertinent stat is lack of 200 wicket club members from Pakistan
