Pakistan have managed to bowl Australia out for <379 only twice in the last 22 innings in Australia

We talk a lot about pakistan's batting but pakistan's bowling has been very poor in australia for an extended period of time now. Since 1999 pakistan has averaged 49 with the ball and 26 with the bat , a whopping difference of 23 runs.

The last time pakistan bowled australia out in australia under 379 was in sydney 2010 when pakistan bowled them out for 127. All the stats are pointing towards a big innings lead by australia.

Our "golden generation" couldn't do anything in australia how can you expect this team to do anything significant?

Australia had a better team then but this Aussie bowling attack is nearly (if not equally) as good in Aussie conditions

We are proper minnows in Australia. I don’t think any team is as hopeless in any country as Pakistan in Australia.

Since 96, Pakistan have been the worst among top 8 teams. The likes of WI and SL have atleast drawn 1 test . Pakistan have lost all tests in OZ.

Srilanka came close to pulling off an upset when Sanga was given out. IT was a steep task. But came close.

Bogey team for Pakistan. Pakistan is good when they can run through a side in a session and the opposition wilts from there. But Australia is not a team like that. They always come back. They have to sustain the pressure.

What stands out particularly is the economy rate. Not only have we conceded large totals, but conceded runs at a rapid clip.

That suggests we haven't any control especially when the ball gets old. Our pacers generally haven't been able to bowl a holding length, nor have been fit enough to bowl on those hard grounds for long spells and sustain their pace.

Our spinners have often been hit out of the attack and don't give the seamers any respite either. However, this time we have a 5 man attack so it's important Azhar utilises Iftikhar especially against their left handers.

Pathetic numbers. We are an embarrassment in Australia. We have no clue about which lengths to bowl in Australia. We also don't know how to keep things tight if we are not getting wickets.

I am surprised by these numbers...especially past bowlers like Wasim Waqar and Asif and Amir...wonder what happens to them here..distractions in the crowd???

Doesn't help when we continue to drop catches. We would have won some had we held onto the catches. Can't blame the bowling.

We had a good team but Australia were pretty gun too.

Probably worth considering that Australia itself was a distraction for our party animal ex-superstars.

Wasim and Imran has pretty good numbers in Aus, Waqar almost always struggled to find the right length and couldn't really perform up to his standard, Asif and Amir were decent in patches just not enough to win matches, Shoaib was all flash and hair flips with zero impact. Story of Pak greats in Aus.

We've never won a Test series there either. In our history.

Yes, no other team has ever done this worse on away tours.

I’m sure thats known to everyone, more surprising was Pak never won in WI till last tour of Misbah.

Before that Pak never won in Aus SA WI , now its just two.

Also before the last tour of Aus to Lanka , lanka had the worst record ever for a top test team , Lanka had won only one test in total against Aus (incl Home and away).

Australia is vastly superior to Pakistan so they are not our bogey team. They are just better and we have no answer to their strengths.

Pakistan was a bogey team for England in the 2010 decade though. They kept losing to Pakistan but would beat far better sides.

Only in Australia. Pakistan has won 7 test series against Australia. Only teams which have won more series against Australia are West Indies (8), India (9) and England(32).

There have been 6-7 competitive Test teams in history including Australia, and the likes of Sri Lanka were minnows until the 1980s while South Africa was banned for 21 years.

The fact that Pakistan finds itself fourth on that list is not impressive at all, especially when we have a 100% losing record since 1995, a feat not matched by any side.

My point was that Australia is only superior to Pak in Oz conditions, otherwise they have lost 7 series to Pak in Pak and UAE. They were also were unable to beat Pak in England in 2010. When they last toured Pakistan in 1998, they won in Pak after 39 years.

Pakistan was a very strong home team in the 70s and 80s, but it has been downhill since 1995. Our record in Pakistan from 1995 to 2009 is actually very poor.

The UAE wickets have nothing in for the pacers which is not the case in Pakistan where you often get pitches and overhead conditions that are suited to pacers.

If we play Australia in Pakistan the likes of Starc, Cummins and Hazlewood would outperform our toothless pacers. However, they will be neutralized in the UAE as usual.

We can be disgruntled about team selection all we want

The fact is, Aussies were always going to batter us in Aus. If our previous greats could not win a Test match in Aus..what were people expecting from this lot? Even a draw would have been a miracle.

Misbah or not, Abbas or not. The results would still be the same. The last time Pakistan won a Test match in Aus was......

I highly doubt Oz can beat Pak in Pak. They will have a tough time facing Abbas, who tormented them on dead wickets of UAE. In any case Pakistani pacers are used to bowling on Pakistani wickets and they know which lengths to bowl, that isn't the case in Oz. There is a reason why most Pakistani pacers have a terrible record in Oz.
