Since Pakistan resumed playing in the UAE in 2006, if you exclude Afghanistan, Hong Kong, Windies, & Sri Lanka, they have played 42 matches.

Out of those 42 matches, they have only won 11.

New Zealand: 3 wins, 5 losses
South Africa: 3 wins, 7 losses
Australia: 3 wins, 8 losses
India: 1 win, 3 losses
England: 1 win, 7 losses
Bangladesh: 0 wins, 1 loss

The sooner Pakistan cricket returns home, the better.

Which is why all the pre-tournament hype made no sense.

As a Cricket fan who grew up watching Murali, Sanga, Jaya, Dilshan etc, this is sad to read.

Anyone who has followed Pak cricket knows how horrible we have been in the UAE in ODIs. All the good sides humiliate us.

I think full strength Bangladesh would beat Pakistan too in a bilateral series. In form Tamim and Mushfiqur are extremely dangerous on UAE tracks.

Oh my god what statistics!! UAE is no home! It's the furthest place from it.

I can so relate.

Grew up watching Sri Lanka thrashing both India and Pakistanis in ODI tournaments to a point i had no hopes going into a big match against them. Such a drop. I am rather talking about times when Sangakkara wasnt even in the picture. Lankans were at their best in ODI cricket from 1996 to 2003 IMO.

Proof we struggle to play Modern Cricket in the UAE. I wonder what our record is like outside the UAE?

It has more to do with our decline in ODIs. We lost to India, South Africa and Sri Lanka in Pakistan from 2006 to 2009, and flopped in the 2008 Asia Cup as well.

We have been in terminal decline in ODIs since 2006, which was the last time we were ranked in the top two. The ODI series vs England in 2005 was our last dominant home ODI series win against quality opposition.

This current Pakistan team would not have a much better record in Pakistan. Teams like India, England, Australia and New Zealand will continue to beat us more often than not.

Also very bad. Hardly any wins downunder. Losses in SL. It's poor overall.

England is the only place where Pak seems to do well.

We currently don't have the skill to bat in these conditions. Our strike rotation is not good enough.

Bad excuses.

Players from Ind and BD have come here and adapted in a week's time.

If Pakistan's players have failed to adapt to the conditions even after 10 years then it's because they are just not qualify players.

I'm speaking facts, not making excuses.

Bangladesh does not either. Only India currently has the skill to score quickly in these conditions.

its because slowness of the wicket, **** batsman are not good timers of the ball nor has the power shot thatswhy UAE hurt alot and UAE also has nothing in it for fast bowler.

Worse - in UAE mud bed, Ajmal, MoHa & Afridi at least kept some sort of dignity. Now with this 135K gun barrel straight phast bowlers without any new ball skill and the "spin All-rounders", PAK'll face 70/1 situation after 10-12 overs almost every time bowling first, while 80/3 batting first - that's after 18-19 overs.

Don't see how playing home can be better, as the wickets are even worse for PAK team. And, batting belter would be nightmare - last time PAK toured BD, games were played in March-April on absolute belter on a lighting out field - our average scoring rate was close to 6.5......, PAK's 4.5.

Only, place where there might be some strength is WIN type of under prepared track, and then win toss to bat first - post something after somehow struggling for full 50 overs with 30s & 40s from 3-4 players and then darters, old ball & slowness of wickets might defend that total, more than 50% times.

I was really, really shocked yesterday to see the ineptness of PAK attack (& shallowness of captain). Mithun did a stupid thing, we ended 8 balls earlier and were missing Shakib's batting & 10 overs .... then idiot Liton dropped a sitter - otherwise from a start of 12/3 in 7 overs, PAK bowlers & Captain would have allowed us to reach 280+ & then collapse for 170.
