Pak needs more cushion in batting to counter spinners.at any rate faheem has not bowled in first match.
yes i would go with talat as it lengthens the middle order
pak batting is good
hassan nawaz
saim
fakhar
agha
talat
nawaz
haris
faheem/Waseem jr
shaheen
eveb rauf can hit

just need to trust themselves and go for it i guess and pick right balls

As I said prior to the previous game, Fakhar WILL need to open. His struggle against spin is a common knowledge. He is also connecting the ball well. It is another matter if he is unwilling to open. Anyone but Saim as of now while he is low in confidence. It is crazy for this team management not to see it.

Squad selection was so poor we have only all-rounders and bowlers who are not in XI. Anybody who could have replaced the struggling batsmen is already on the XI and struggling themselves.

I have no issue with MOST of the squad. Any team can struggle on these wickets. Our standard of cricket overall has fallen without a doubt - just like any other profession in Pakistan.

I wont drop Abrar. He has been our best bowler..

I would like to see Mohammed Wasim in the place of Khushdil. We should take this gamble.
Not a bad option - Wasim is the best bowler we have for reverse swing if conditions allow, but I have seen him losing his senses in the last few overs as any other Pakistani bowler currently in the squad. I think he is a fair selection - don't know how much difference would that make.

I believe even with the squad we have, with the right decision making Pak can beat ind but the ridiculous decisions like batting first will need to be avoided.

The problem with the squad is that there are no batting replacements. These same guys will need to be repackaged. Another problem is lack of specialist batters at their positions. We have 5 players in the xi who in their own heads are all openers. Skipper Agha is the only non-opener in top 6, he also happens to be the biggest misfit in t20s.

Agree - not ONE experienced middle order bat in the squad - that just shows the low standard of cricket.

India is definitely beatable. The problem with these bats is mental. They either wanna send the ball to skies above or they start wasting balls after several failed wafts. Often, I fail to see them trying to time the ball to rotate the strike first. It is NOT the game of 6s ONLY.

Since the Last world cup Number of times a team has crossed 167 or more against India in the 23 encounters.

4 times

South Africa - 1 Lost (200 plus)
England - 1 won (170 plus)
Srilanka - 1 lost (170 plus)
Oman - 1 lost (160 plus)

So bar has been set.

I have a feeling Pakistan is going to come out guns blazing and win tomorrow. They want revenge for handshake gate. To be honest, I don't blame them - it was really petty behaviour from the Indian team !

lack of sportsmanship. The drama is over Pycroft being sold, not over handshake though. The referee shall have been neutral instead of being all ears to pathetic advice, going against spirit of sportsmanship

After India’s dominant win on September 14, Pakistan now gets its shot at redemption in the Super Four on September 21. Both teams have qualified — India after UAE beat Oman, and Pakistan after defeating UAE. With Oman and UAE out, the stage is set for another high-voltage showdown.

The last time they met, India won by seven wickets, and Suryakumar Yadav led by example with an unbeaten 47. Kuldeep Yadav’s 3/18 kept the Pakistan batters tied down. In four T20I encounters over the course of the Asia Cup, India have won thrice and Pakistan once. In the Asia Cup overall, India has 11 wins and six losses with three no results in 20 games vs Pakistan. In overall T20Is, India has won 11 and lost three. Team India clearly dominates the scene vs Pakistan in the big games.

Will Pakistan flip the script this time, or will India double down?
Anorher machine gun no ammo moment

India should push Gill to 1 down and open with Abhishek and Samson.

The rest of the team remains same as they played in their group match. If the pitch has something for seamers, then drop Varun and play Arshdeep.

Pak has been exposed on the mental front by Ind multiple times. (We have a huge mental block against Aus too but that’s the topic of some other thread). Not just batters we have also seen our bowlers absolutely lose the plot against India.

Coming back to our batters, saim possibly can’t make a fourth duck lol. The six best batters we have in the squad should play in this order to maximise this squad’s potential. These might not be their best positions but looking at system optimisation here:

Farhan
Saim
Fakhar
Agha (what you said about not rotating strike applies best to the captain these days)
Hassan (six for this guy is not on in t20s, I’d have put him at 4 but then Agha will demote himself further)
Haris (he needs the fewest balls to get going)

Pakistan team is emotionally triggered right now...if anything pakistan can do is with their bowling and not batting..My prediction is India may lose some quick wickets at the top due to

Pakistan team is emotionally triggered right now...if anything pakistan can do is with their bowling and not batting..My prediction is India may lose some quick wickets at the top due to fiery spells from their fast bowlers..the success and failure of Indian team depends on how middle order performs and handle the situation..once they are set it will be easy to defeat Pakistan

India might try to keep their wickets for 12 or 13 overs and go afte rbowling after that.

Lol Indian fans are really high on Bollywood masala and it shows in your posts.

Pakistan will have to play much better cricket than they have so far, being emotionally triggered or charged will have nothing to do with how they play. If anything those things are a detriment to professional sport.

Batting first : Open with Abhishek and Sanju.. Shubman Gill can come one down and play a Virat Kohli type role

Batting second: Open with Abhishek and Sanju..drop Shubman Gill from the team and play Jitesh or Rinku singh..drop Dube and play Arshadeep..

Ideal Playing Xl
Abhishek
Sanju
Tilak varma
Surya Kumar yadav
Axar patel
JItesh Sharma
Hardik Pandya
Harshit Rana
Kuldeep Yadav
Arshadeep or Bumrah
Varun Chakravarthy

JItesh is more valuable in this set up than Gill. These slow turgid lifeless wickets don't suit him. Jitesh is a 360 degree player

India has been really lucky to play all its matches against Pakistan in Dubai, which is their favourite venue whether it’s the Champions Trophy or the Asia Cup.

No Bollywood masala will stand in front of the theatrical dramas your team has been doing over years including the recent handshake boycott drama..if you follow sports you would know emotions always played a major role in all the sports including cricket..emotional triggers are always not detrimental and in many instances it pushed the team to perform beyond its weight and win..it's how we channelize it is important..

Hearing that Andy Pycroft will once again be the match referee. Looks like ICC is trolling Pakistan on purpose! Well, with an Indian Chief and CEO, they seem to do whatever they want.

Mohsin Naqvi short reply on no pre match press conference for Pakistan:
Even Ekta Kapoors soap opera's don't have as much drama and suspense as this Pakistan cricket team is providing in this Asia cup. Single handedly made this boring tournament interesting with their daily nakhre's.

What does he mean by we will talk soon? Looks like Pak captain will give a big press conference tomorrow praising Pakistani fauj.

Amid criticism over poor form, India vice-captain Shubman Gill hit the nets a day ahead of the team's Super 4 clash in the Asia Cup. Gill, who was brought into the Indian T20I side after a long break of nearly a year, has had two back-to-back poor outings in the tournament.

- You can't become Jaiswal dude with optional net session. Jaiswal's plus point is he can smash perfectly good deliveries.

I am sure Gill knows more than you regarding what he has to do. You are an armchair critic who has probably never played any hard ball cricket. :inti

These net sessions are helpful. Ask anyone who plays or played hard ball cricket.

Paksitan should open with Haris, others are not making any use of power play and his gunhho style may throw astray Indian bowler's line and length, and if he fails, which he so often does, other batsmen will have to carry on with attacking responsibilities albeit with a bit more care. He is wasted outside power play, and should be told not to resort to reverse paddles or sweeps, shot that he fails more than he scores.
Faheem should replace uselss Khushdil, as with India you do not need that many spinners.
That’s what they are apparently doing tomorrow

Khushdil and Farhan opening

Saim at 4
