Pakistan, Netherlands agree to play cricket series next year

Pakistan and the Netherlands have agreed to hold a cricket series next year to promote the sport in the Netherlands.

Federal Interior Minister and Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Mohsin Naqvi, met with the Dutch Ambassador, Henny de Vries. During the meeting, they discussed enhancing cricket cooperation between the two countries and agreed on organising a cricket series next year.

The discussions also included matters of mutual interest, bilateral relations, and increasing cooperation in various fields. Henny de Vries mentioned that the Dutch cricket team will visit Pakistan next year and play matches with the Pakistan A team.

Minister Naqvi emphasised the need for sustainable measures to strengthen bilateral relations and assured full support in promoting cricket in the Netherlands. He highlighted Pakistan’s role in hosting Afghan refugees for decades and the ongoing efforts to repatriate illegal Afghan immigrants with a comprehensive policy.

The postponement of the SAF Cross Country Athletics Championship due to adverse weather conditions in central Punjab, especially the hazardous smog, was also discussed.

Hopefully the Ireland tour next year in September can be expanded to include two tests as we have a 9 month gap between our test series with West Indies and South Africa a series with Ireland can bridge that long gap

There is if you use them to test out your younger players who don't have alot of international exposure. But PAK use these series to help their main team players statpad.

From a fans perspective it's quite enjoyable watching a man in Holland, Ireland or Scotland.

You get really up close and personal to the players in a way that you can't really in other matches or indeed other sports.

It's the perfect type of series to use youngsters who don't have much international experience. Just like the coming up Zimbabwe series. Rest your senior players and give the youngster a proper look & chance to show their worth.

If we are seeing Pakistan go full strength... then, yes it's a mistake to have this series.
