Pakistan players in Lanka Premier League LPL 2024

Eight Pakistan players were bought by the LPL teams for the upcoming season 5 during the Lanka Premier League 2024 Auction, which took place at the Shangri-La Hotel in Colombo on Tuesday (May 21).

The fifth edition of the LPL is scheduled to be held from July 1 to 21 and will feature five teams competing for the silverware. Before that, the five teams - B-Love Kandy, Colombo Strikers, Galle Titans, Dambulla Thunders and Jaffna Kings added to their squads at the auction.

According to Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC), 420 players, including 154 from Sri Lanka and 266 from overseas, had registered for the player auction for the LPL 2024. Some players were also retained ahead of the LPL 2024 auction.

In total 8 Pakistan players will be part of the next edition of Lanka Premier League. All-rounder Shadab Khan was retained by Colombo Strikers and wicketkeeper batter Mohammad Haris was retained by B-Love Kandy before the bidding process.

Meanwhile seven others were picked up at the auction. Right-arm pacer Mohammad Wasim Jr was signed by Colombo Strikers for $20,000 while Dambulla Thunders signed Iftikhar Ahmed for $50,000, and Haider Ali for $25,000.

Some time away and focus on fitness should be helpful. They are good players and Pak heavily depends on them.

Not hiding and ducking , they know international cricket is their bread and butter the only way to earn living, therefore training hard to maintain fitness unlike some unfit players who indulge in suspicious activities

I wish people stop taking these leagues seriously.

Again I repeat their for entertainment. Shadab rocking it in this psl is as relevant as usama mir being the highest wicket taker in psl.

Pakistani players need to be encouraged to play more country cricket and test cricket for improvement. Indian players are great due to ranji trophy.

Ik test is a different format, But due to the nature of the game, A cricketers defence and stroke play does improve and so does running between the wickets.

Choosing Saim Ayub, Azam Khan and Usman Khan over salman Ali agha, Saud shakeel and Abdullah shafiq on the sole basis that the former 3 can smack a few leagues was a costly decision as Saim's lack of game awareness, Usman's technical flaws, and azam's lack of fitness were badly exposed.

This wouldn't have been an issue with the other 3, as Abdullah scoring an odi 111 against sri lanka is still infinitely superior to saim flunking all his test and t20 games even when playing against minnows on school boy pitches.

He should abandon his dreamss of being a top order bat and focus solely on his bowling to try and recapture some of the magic he had in his early career.
