Pakistan reduce New Zealand to 26/2 at Stumps after being bowled out for 348 with a 74-run lead

Bilal cant bat very poor technique. He will be a walking wicket overseas. Even in UAE where it should be easiest to bat for him I cant see him averaging more than 15 with this technique.
 
Sarfraz needs to farm the tail now, can depend on them sticking around.

There you go before I could write me last message he is out. Just doesnt have a technique I think he needs to bat lower than Yasir.
 
Sarfaraz really needs to up the anti now. Thats the only way this game can completely change in favor of Pak if he clicks.
 
Bilal should be batting below Yasir and Hasan Ali.
May be even below SSA.
 
Did anyone say that Pakistan's tail isn't the worst in cricket right now? Well if not then you might need to go Specsavers.
 
Pakistan need to put pressure on nz by playing shots atleast the lead will increase like that. Unlike blocking away and putting unnecessary pressure on yourself without increasing rhe lead
 
Any lead below 120 I don't fancy Pakistan's chances batting last.
 
Mohammad Amir has probably been our best Test tailender of late - I remember his 48 vs Australia in Brisbane a couple of years ago, and scoring 39 against England at The Oval batting with Younis Khan.
 
With around 20 overs left, Sarfraz should look to play his natural game especially these last 2-3 won't stick around for long.

And the standards have been falling steadily even more recently. Its high time there should be only 8 first class teams. These players should actually have to work hard to get into domestic sides.
 
We have made many average spinner look good in the UAE. Who was the kiwi that took 8 wickets a few seasons ago?

Bilal Ali = j kallis
Shadab khan = clive rice
Faheem = ian Botham

How on earth does Bilal Adif have a FC century is beyond me.

I agree, atleast make a two division league like county so that best 8 can be in one and rest in the other division with promotion and relegation. I guess we had that system but unduly changed it.

Whatever our team has improved in the LOIs and we are atleast producing some players in mainly due to PSL.

Let me make it easy for you, Thats the standard of Pakistan domestic cricket. It shouldnt be beyond you if there are 16 teams in domestic system that's too many and reducing the standard of first class structure.

LOI team has improved from where it was a few years ago which was rock bottom.

Then fans need to calm down shadab is not the next steve smith,bilal is not an all rounder, Faheem is not the next best thing since sliced bread!!
 
It's better for Sarfraz to play 5 balls and then hit a 4 on the last ball rather than take a single first ball and watch Yasir survive for the rest of the over. With the current way, the scoreboard isn't moving at all.

Yes much better to be at no 5 then no 8 in the rankings but more than that we have some decent talent in the team and on the bench within our bowing unit and in batting atleast we have couple of quality batsmen in Fakhar and Babar.

The quality of batsmen especially is awful currently. You can pull up a scorecard of any QEA Trophy match and you will see the vast majority of batsmen have averages in late 20s, or early to mid 30s.

Steve Smith was never as good with ball as Shadab as well. Shadab is a bowling all rounder, him saying he is a fan of Smith doesnt make him to be compared with smith.

Both Shadab and Faheem are good LOIs players. Faheem is the best we have as a 4th seem bowling option outside Asia and everybody is hoping he will improve his batting slowly. Bilal however is at best a temporary fill in as a second spinner until Pakistan find a proper off spinner to compliment Yasir in Asia.
 
Pakistan is in driving seat. NZ will collapse to Yasir in 2nd innings. 100 runs lead is more than enough

The Pakistan Cup has quietly become a success story too.

It's not surprising that these tournaments where there are fewer teams featuring only the best talent in the country that you see more competitive and higher quality matches.

Let me repeat again there is no other option to improve first class cricket other than reducing it to 8 teams. The reason why its 16 currently is to please departments and giving some sefarishi jobs to some coaches etc.
 
Need a brisk 20-25 from hassan, doesnt have the technique to survive for too many balls

Pakistan still favourites. Any lead over 80 runs is highly effective.

NZ will have to score 275+ in 2nd inning to win this game. Result is a guarantee to come IMO.

With the current lead 230 is all that NZ need to win this game. Can't see us chasing anything 150+.
 
It would have been better if Hassan would have tried to hit.

I remeber the days before his debut when he wanted to become all rounder. With this attitude with the bat it’s difficult to become even a decent taileneder

Lol at Hasan Ali! I remember he used to open the inning at under age cricket for Pakistan. Just goes to show the standard of batsmen required at international level. They truly have to be your best 6/7 batsmen in the country to be able to play international class bowling.

Sommerville is not that quality. Its just that fearful midnset of our players which doesnt let them think anything.

Fakhar is the only player in recent times who wants to win but isnt afraid of losing. Rest of our batting mentality is so negative that none of them play freely.

He is still part of the international class bowling attack! And at this level you really do need your best batsmen. Hence the urgent need to improve the standards of our first class cricket.
