Pakistan to skip T20 World Cup 2026 group match against India

Since when Naqvi become chairman of PCB, he brought politix on every occasion...

1) Asia Cup controversy, Naqvi demanded to remove third umpire and PCB threaten to withdrawn from Asia cup, but ICC refused their demand... PCB backed and played match against UAE.

2) india won Asia Cup, but naqvi Run away with Asia cup....

3) Naqvi's backing to BCB without any reason as the issue was between ICC and BCB.

If Pakistan remove Naqvi from PCB chairman post, then only sub continent cricket will become normal

1) Took a straight ***-for-tat position: if India won’t come to Pakistan, then Pakistan won’t go to India either. Simple, clear, no drama.

2) Didn’t fall for India’s childish political stunts, like refusing to collect a trophy from a Pakistani official something that only ended up embarrassing India in front of the whole world.

3) Humiliated India by not playing with India after all the noise India made to boycott Pakistan but didn't have the courage too

Naqvi is the right person for this position to slap India around.

which government first said they will not send their team to Pakistan?
which team first said we will boycott Pakistan?

in his era what has happened naqvi slapped India around and showed india their aukat and now your not liking it.
 
Conditions:

ICC is handed back to SENA.

Bangladesh is allowed back into the WC.

Increase of revenue share for Pakistan.

Cricket news sites such as cricinfo and wisden handed over to SENA. No more Indian centric jibberish.

How can ICC sanction PCB if they are following government protocol?

We should call out ICC's bluff and announce a bilateral series with Bangladesh that will take place during the World Cup.

A 250 million dollar loss will sting a lot especially as cricket is a nothing sport beyond this match.

It can barely fill stadiums. Even World Cup matches are not sell outs usually.

Last world cup the group matches were played in virtually empty stadiums.

Indians really have disrespected Pakistan a lot. Especially in the last match when they introduced politics with the post match interviews and not shaking hands. Turning on Bangladesh was the final straw.

We all know if Hasina was still in charge they wouldn't have treated Bangladesh in that manner. All political. This will not stand.

PCB doesn't have massive overheads, they have got use to operating under tight budgets.

It’s the first ever sport and last ever sport . Instead of bickering over a bat and ball game which children can play , for political game , get in the squared circle for 12 rounds . There’s no hiding , there’s no teammates, it’s the ultimate fitness, endurance, skill and mental sport . After the fights , both countries will learn to understand what sport is and begin to respect each other in competitions . The most beautiful sight in sports is a knockout not a six .
 
I was with the PCB on this decision until they gave the reason for it.

This is absolutely dumb and does not have any legal standing.

BD’s demand was rejected by not just BCCI decision, it was an ICC decision - why boycott the Indian game over it? Also, what about the next game vs India? Protest is only limited to one game?

Other boards also voted in favor of BD, why aren’t we boycotting them? If this was the reason, we should have boycotted the entire tournament to show that we don’t want to participate in a biased tournament - why just one game?

If the ICC asks the above questions to them, they will have no answer.

Absolutely shambles handling of the issue by the PCB and the Pak government. I will have zero sympathy for them for any sanctions/punishments ICC places on them for this.

I think Sharif took his title too seriously and hung Naqvi out to dry. They should have spoken before Sharif tweeting it.
I’m literally laughing at the incompetence. He should have just sat on his chair and sipped Tapal Tea happily.

Well, they should just bite the bullet and swallow their pride now, and show up to play a match on the 15th. As a cricket fan, I would love to see the teams competing on the field.
For cricket itself the cost of this boycott will be too high, and Pakistan will bear the most brunt of it.

The match in concerned is India vs Pakistan from which Pakistan team is chickening out. However, when Indians comment - why are they obsessed with Pak.

It is not double standard. India played at neutral venue, Pak already played (women’s worldcup in neutral venue which was primarily hosted by India) and now playing the WT20 in Hybrid model. That was the agreed deal.

Skipping the match “taking a moral stance” for Bangladesh when Bangladesh accepted their verdict and are silent won’t work in court of law.

Skipping the match because India didn’t shake hands also will be laughed out off the court room.

India played Pak in a neutral venue in a hybrid model. Pak is expected to do the same.

Like Pakistan have famously themselves benefitted on quadrat ka nizaams in the past, forfeiting a game in a tournament will have impact on other teams for both good and bad.

All these arguments have 0 legs.

Aus did not travel to SL in 1996 but remind me again who played the final. In fact Aus beat WI in a thriller which WI almost won and they would have been playing SL which they didn’t refuse.

In 2003 too if England and Nzland had made it to semis, they would have played Kenya.

I see 0 double standards. Till the moment India flaked out of CT travel to Pak, you guys had a legit argument of BCCI yielding power but that won’t fly anymore

Looks like Pak banking on a lot of Quadrat ka nizaams already

No slip ups against minnows.
No rain washout against minnows
Hope quadrat ka nizaam takes out India in qualifiers
Hope quadrat ka Nizaam takes out India in super 8’s
Avoid a situation via Quadrat ka Nizam of playing India in knockouts.

Ironically this is probably the first time in a decade or so they look like legit contenders who don’t need any quadrat ka nizaam nonsense. Given the fact they play all games in Srilanka including knockouts, in these conditions , they are a legit contender. Maybe in India their batting doesn’t have enough power to out bat India and SENA teams but in SL they definitely have a legit chance at the title itself.

Despite you been biased in most of your posts, here I agree that our people have bene taught jazba junoon things without any rational thinking process. Even the most iconic songs created says ha jazba junoon tu himmat na haar, bhai himmat kiya karega when there is no proper thinking process behind your himmat and jazba.
If jazbq had to do everything then Pakistani would have been number one km every field but unfortunately the reality has been different.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) revealed that it has not received any official confirmation from PCB, but the announcement led to a massive controversy. In an exclusive interview with NDTV, Latif said that the match not taking place will be bad for cricket but added that there is a lot of politics involved and a resolution will need talks between PCB and the ICC.

"We want to play cricket. There is a lot of politics involved and there will be back-channel talks between the PCB and ICC. The match should happen. There is a huge fan following in India, Pakistan and Bangladesh. If the India-Pakistan match does not take place, it will be bad for cricket," he said.

For Pakistan, it is nothing. India were able to fill 40K plus for a paid warm up game.

Pakistan govt decided that they would not play a team that doesn't respect sports ethics and their team enough to shake hands. That's enough...

In court force majeure is enough as per precedent set by bcci icc. Only panelty Pakistan get is 2 points for forfeit and obviously future revenue curtailment

Even if boxing is the ultimate sport Pakistan should not allowing boxing matches with Indian boxers.The issues is not cricket,boxing or hockey.The issue is India’s behaviour and politicisation of sports.

That is Bangladesh’s problem. Not strong enough excuse for Pak to disrupt the tournament.

The commitment to play the tournament and every match is not just for India, it’s a tournament protocol. If you want to stand up for Bangladesh even if they didn’t ask , then do it by skipping the entire tournament, not rubbing salt in their wounds by continuing to play and making money while they sit at home , antagonizing other board members by affecting their revenue and putting your own qualification and tournament prospects in risk. Dumbest move ever.

You guys never listen lol. Stay in the delulu, then don’t be angry at me if I come back with a I told you so like many times before .

There is no jingoism here; the facts are bare in front of you which you are blind to see.

Pak has no real legit reason here. They just played India 2 days back in u-19 match.

That was million years ago, then why Pakistan were playing with India in ICC events?

Naqvi at the instructions of Asim munir brought dirty politix in Cricket... PCB was having no business to interfere in the issue between ICC and BCB... but PCB backed BCB to gain political milage... Afghanistan is also Muslim nation, they didn't back BCB

It's strange too because there was non stop fans outrage and calls for boycotting the Asia Cup matches from the Indian side but now they're mad and want to play Pakistan? Pakistan is just doing what they wanted a few months ago lol...
