Slow death begins.

Death by a thousand cuts its called......

I would hate to be on the field now - I would possibly be looking at drooping shoulders on the field and mass exodus from the crowds

So , normal for the Pakistan team then.

Yes it is normal for Pakistan.

I thought before the 20/20 world cup in 2007 that Pakistan managed to get rid of their weak links. Razzaq and MoYo were told you were not good fielders. Yet the current team has many poor fielders.

Whats going on. :malik

It doesnt matter to players if we lose or win. We only fans get hurt by defeat.

Twatson getting more comfortable against the spinners now

No you guys are far too professional.

*cough* first ODI *cough*

I don't take anything for granted these days mate.

Australia also has lot of dot balls. But they compensated with boundary hits.

PAK - 12 fours, 1 six in 49 overs
OZ - 12 fours, 1 six in 35 overs

That was just a hiccup. But have to admit its been a good comeback by Australia. Although Pakistan have batted absolutely poorly.

Pak need to make something happen. Try something different. These two are well set now.

I think this is the first time in his 13 year career that he has been injured [or atleast an injury which will affect him playing].

And he walks off the field :))) You just tore your calf muscle! dont walk!!

Exactly .
That opener has 52 dot balls out of 81 balls.
Misbah 52 dot balls out of 75 balls

Wow Watson is really clueless against Ajmal. That LBW looked close.

Abdul Qadir embarassing himself on TV - makes no sense in English....

Says Afridi is one of the fittest people in the team - the camera shows Afridi limping off the field.

Can't be much worser than :yk

It will be like fast forwarding the recording. He speaks at 90mph.

This is an example of a good over. 8 runs, no boundaries, just hard running between wickets.

End of over 35 (8 runs) - Australia 140/2 (58 runs required)

SR Watson 62* (113b 3x4 1x6) Yasir Arafat 6-1-20-0
MJ Clarke 69* (93b 9x4) Shahid Afridi 7-0-31-0
34.6 Yasir Arafat to Watson, 3 runs, nicely timed, short of a good length on middle, gets forward and whips it away through midwicket for three more, easily done
34.6 Yasir Arafat to Watson, 1 wide, down the leg side again, an air of resignation, still 64 more needed, they need to push harder here Pakistan
34.5 Yasir Arafat to Clarke, 1 run, too straight on middle, clipped to short fine and rushes for a single
34.4 Yasir Arafat to Clarke, no run, short of a length on the off, dabbed to point off the back foot
34.3 Yasir Arafat to Clarke, no run, short outside off, comes down the track and mistimes an attempted slap past mid-off
34.3 Yasir Arafat to Clarke, 1 wide, down the leg side, another run gifted, tries to clip it fine, misses but its given a wide
34.2 Yasir Arafat to Clarke, no run, short of a good length on middle, defended back to the bowler
34.1 Yasir Arafat to Clarke, 2 runs, banged it short on middle, tucked away wide of short fine and deep square leg for a couple more, the runs coming easily now

Course the 2 wides helped too

Poor balll from Arafat.

That shout for LBW from Ajmal to Watson was plumb.

That looked but it will be given not out by most umpires.

Pitched outside and impact almost outside, the batsman playing a shot.

So even if it was turning but most of the cases batsman will be given not out.

Depressing stuff :(

You cant score less than 200 and expect to win very often.

Seems like everyone is gone. Just me and insaftak are here.

i was only here to say that i don't have to eat crow since pakistan is going to loose, lol

Current partnership 144 runs, 34.5 overs, RR: 4.13 (Clarke 70, Watson 62)
Australia require another 51 runs with 8 wickets and 12.5 overs remaining

Pakistan players look jaded and tired. WHY? They haven't played in ages, they should be fresh.

4 more to Clarke.

It was marginal. I think it pitched in line.

Happens when they are up against a partnership close to 150.

The only option left are Sohail Tanveer, Shoaib Malik, Yasir Arafat and Saeed Ajmal to complete the remaining overs.

Pup deserves a ton. He's played well. A good captain's knock, sensible yet a good strikerate.

Twatson doesn't deserve a ton - he's been scratchy and played and missed and been lucky but to his credit he's hung in there and made the most of it.

Lethal said:

nope. actually it pitched quite out. But the impact was on the border and it was turning in to hit the leg stump. :)

Tanvir getting hammered

End of over 38 (10 runs) - Australia 157/2 (41 runs required)

SR Watson 69* (124b 4x4 1x6) Sohail Tanvir 6-1-33-0
MJ Clarke 75* (100b 10x4) Yasir Arafat 7-1-23-0
37.6 Sohail Tanvir to Watson, FOUR, the end is near, full outside off, takes a couple of steps down and just chips it over mid-off for another four, only a matter of time now
37.5 Sohail Tanvir to Watson, no run, slower one bowled short on the off stump, defended short of cover
37.4 Sohail Tanvir to Clarke, 1 run, on middle and leg, pushed off the front foot wide of midwicket for a single
37.3 Sohail Tanvir to Clarke, FOUR, shot, uppish but in the gap, makes room and carts it through the covers, it full and wide and he's made room to get rid of that, the shoulders drooping now
37.2 Sohail Tanvir to Watson, 1 run, slower one bowled on a good length outside off, gets across the line to flick it away, gets an inside edge onto the pads
37.1 Sohail Tanvir to Watson, no run, coming round the wicket, slower ball bowled short of a good length on middle, defended into the leg side
Sohail Tanvir into the attack now

he is barely standing and you are talking about asking him to bowl?

He's only bowled 5 overs. How can he barely be standing?

Well my time is up. Time to go read Asar namaz and then go for a munch.

Then go play footy after Maghrib.

Looking forward to this. Again, another 8 hours of my life wasted. Seriously I need to get out more.

I'll see you when I see you. Goodbye.

Neither of these guys will get a century unless they premeditate who will get it. Not enough runs to play with.

He was limping a lot recently while fielding.

So Akhtar's only good for 5 overs these days? How will he play Tests?

OZGOD said:

Exactly. He wasn't even fit to begin with. Mohammad Aamer has been overlooked because of unfit fast bowler. If this continue like this, many new bowlers will always remain overlooked.

Another day, another depressed performance from the Pakistan Greens. Few more to come in this series and then T20 WC, then SL, then NZ, Aussies and life goes on.

Here comes Akhtar. Can he break the partnership?

Perfect timing for Akhtar. 24 runs needed and he has about 12 balls to get 7 wickets while conceding only one leg bye

8 wickets

12thMan was counting on one retired hurt I think.
you know it. But to be fair there was discussion by Think Tank and they couldn't agree between run out or retired hurt

Retired hurt is definitely more exciting than a run out.
:inzi

Congratulations clarke for 100. What a time to come up with a century.
