If you cant score runs then all that effort in the field becomes worthless.Though I may be a tad harsh,admitted our fielding and bowling has been reasonable.Not consistent enough though.

I dont think that is the problem as even i as an aussie am biased toward him as a good player!

I guess we don't need to be too upset about the first innings collapse now. Even if we'd matched Australia's score, 290 would've been too difficult anyway.

Still hopeful though :)
 
good to see Afridi get a wicket. It is imperative that perform during the rebuild phase.

Afridi should not have taken the new ball imo. Should have kept himself on from the other end as well. These are tailenders who are too good to nick balls. It should have been all "hit the stumps hard" or "beat in flight" type of strategy. IMO.

Bowlers ok.I stand corrected but based on our batting we dont deserve anything.If you cant score runs then all that effort in the field is worthless.
 
Pakistan seem to lack energy and that just translates into everything they are doing. Shoulders are down. Nobody seems to be doing anything at any great pace hence the slow over rates.
 
i was wondering whats the change in our recent test team & last year team ??? :13:

we got early wickets & now give tail-enders a free hand to score such a huge total.

now when we will bat , the collapse in batting line-up will start v.early & the match will be end by the 3rd day :po:

Completely disagree. Any team that bowls Australia for 250 & has them 290-9 is a solid test side. Had Pakistan's batting stood up this match would be a match worth watching!
 
hehe..shane warne complaining about the umpiring, which helped pakistan win the 1994 test match in karachi...

I wonder what the score would've been if the sun was out for all 3 days.

We'd probably be batting on 300 or so; the new ball isn't even swinging now.
 
Gully needs to bowl 6 yorkers. I can guarantee at least one will get through or LBW opportunity will come.
 
why cant we find batsmen like hilffy n bollinger out of a population of 180 million? :P
 
Not a good idea to take new ball IMO. Should've persisted with Gul's reverse and Danny from the other side to get rid of Bolly.

Well why don't you make sure Pakistan don't play any test like a couple of years ago, will that make you happy?
 
Dunno why people are laying into the bowlers, captain so much. It was a decent bowling performance in the second innings. It was average. Obviously it's going to look bad compared to the first innings one which was very good. Aamer isn't much good though in this innings.

Hilf and Paine got lucky and scored more than what they were expected. They were having a good day. Aussies are going to make around 300 probably. Bowling them out for around 300 isn't too bad really.

There's obviously no spark in the bowling attack as there isn't much hope of winning the test. The batsmen undid all that hard work of the bowlers, throwing away their advantage. It's frustrating to watch, I doubt it must be much fun at all bowling when it's a loosing cause. I'm not saying you shouldn't try to maintain positive, but I can totally understand why they're disheartened.
 
Umar Gul deserves a 5-wicket haul.... lets hope he gets it soon...

BOWLING and fielding both have been top notch. Did we drop some catches this time around??

batting collapses were expected; expect debutants to do good in 2nd innings inshallah.

Tail added above 60 runs, more than Butt made. We really suck in the batting department

Just one off Afridi by Umin. Though it was a tough one, it could have turned the match over. Afridi's back!

I like the say what Sehwag said to Kaneria, yes you took 6 wickets but we scored 300 of you. That sums it up, Kaneria should not be in Pakistans side

I hope the debutants do well, but they are going to be in a huge amount of pressure due to a target of around 400.

Did you read what I posted? 290 would've been a good target in the 4th innings in any case, and Australia would've fancied their chances with that target. 390 is pretty much out of reach, unless something miraculous happens.
 
In the next test match we should just sit out farhat and let waqar bowl
 
There it is. Their tail has more mental strength than all of our batsmen combined.

UM, your forgeting this is the first test in a long time and teams work up to playing well after one day and now silly T20.
Besides this is not and Indian flat track, this is the score you would expect!
 
Pitch plays easy when sun is out, it is not the pitch it is the weather
that makes the ball move
 
Now this is silly (if it doesn't pay off). Afridi should have brought Aamer instead of himself. The ball is freaking new!!!
 
Our bowlers have given muft runs since the dismissals of Smith. Blood boiling.

If Pakistan is to chase something than chasing 400 is better than chasing 397 :)

Looks a bit more tough :D:D

But as we all nearly know the results... so let the 2 guys enjoy their batting :)

Stupid post.Not even worth replying to,of course I want Pakistan to play Tests but whats the point of putting all that energy and effort in the field and then not be consistent in your performance by not scoring runs ? In Tests,all-round skills and concentration is crucial.Wheres the energy now on the 3rd day ? The body language sucks.You have to perform for 5 days not 1.

We've still to bat, don't give up. It looks pretty easy out there, just see off the new ball and lose no more than 2-3 wkts today.
