The quality of Allrounders produced in every cricketing nation has increased, with the likes of Shakib,Duminy, Jadeja etc..Bilal Asif falls way behind, lets see if at all AA backs him again for another game i hope he performs. We don't want to be wasting talent if at all there is some, which could'nt be show cased.

But you know they wreren't excellent all rounders since day one. There is always a room for improvement, give him more chances he can improve and perform better. And if he do perform better, then it must be a good addition to our team.

Only bat was close to the ball and nothing else :).

But still not sure if the ball hit the bat. Anyways it would have been unlucky dismissal so I am glad umpire gave it not out.

Comeon barragan. You are one of the good posters around. Dont malign yourself by taking sharjeel the fat hack's name. Sarfraz is a good option tho. Something i agree with.

Better than Bilal, if that is what they want with aggression at the top.

But yeah, Sarfraz did well at the top and don't know why they moved him.

How come everything seem so rosy for Pakistan cricket these days. Personally I'm not even worried about these ODI's as if we are inevitably going to win it.

Bilal doesnt deserve a chance because he comes across as a tailender.

I saw the first 3 overs of the innings and he had like 3-4 play and misses already.

He is not a top order batsman at all.

Hafeez should open and bring in Haris at no.3 and Rizwan at no.5/6 long term

I agree. But just for the sake of giving someone a full chance; i want him to be played in the same position next match. GreenRoars is also correct in suggesting that we should demote him. Something that can be looked upon as well. Up on the team mgmt tbh.

Maybe this kit will bring back the flavour of 90s. Reminds a lot of Pakistan having a similar shade in 98 in a Sharjah Cup. Gives a good feel.

Or may be demote Bilal, he can be handy in lower down but the reason i want him in top order because we don't have any hitter there.

I understand your point, but cmon, Bilal has never opened in List-A matches. He has no pedigree. If we need an attacking opener, may as well pick Sharjeel or Shahzaib. See a list of his List-A matches, he has batted above #6 only once. He is a bowling all-rounder. Why should be open the innings? We can then even make Anwar open, because I think he is a better batsman. Just one hundred at #3 for Sialkot in a T20 doesn't mean he should open in ODIs for us.

List-A matches that Bilal Asif has played in: http://cricketarchive.com/Archive/Players/70/70538/List_A_Matches.html

Batted above #6 only once. Batted at #3 and made 23 off 32 balls. That is all the experience he has of batting in the top order in 50-over matches.

He should be in direct competiton with Imad imo. So #6,7 and bowl 7-10 overs.

As a batsman he doesnt hold a candle to Imad though. Regardless of whoever ends up being a more successful bat, Imad genuinely comes across as a batsman and can play proper shots.

lets see how it goes

Sarfaraz is really hard done here. They are always floating him up and down. Looked a perfect no.4 and now they have him back at 7. If his forms wane, these changes will affect him a lot

That's a lifeline for Babar fanboys. I dont mean Babar is bad, but i just dont understand the hype around him. Decent player though,

thats what i fail to understan on pakpassion. Why would you rate him so much. One poster called him once in a quarter talent. He looks very ordinary to me. One fluke innings of defiance in u19 world cup has made him man of steel nervers. Look at how is he batting. Look at the bowling standard, if he bats like that on pitches like these then how can one expect him to play in england.

Absolute rubbish

Slog look at the analogy. :)))

Young and looked guilty. LMAO.

so old people dont look guilty? :yk

lmao this is hlarious.

what was the event in relation to the comment? Only saw first 4-5 overs of the innnings and just putting it back on

Babar azam seems to have a lot of time.

All the time in the world, Jagga pakki karni hai bhai. It's not a pressure situation presently this flow of runs is working hopefully he can gain confidence for upcoming games.

How Dare You Say That To Babar!

The disgust towards Babar Azam is funny. One match need not define a career guys.

I remember when Harris Sohail was 3-4 matches in, played at #6 and everyone was saying how he is not international caliber.

He hasn't even put his feet in the water and people are already saying he can't swim.

Hahaha.. He is not as good as some PPers make him out to be and he is not that bad as u are putting it :D.. Somewhere in between, can avg around 40 but dont hink he is that 48+ avg. player

For me, imaad is waaaay better than billy. Imaad not only is a better bat but also has nerves of steel. Backing imaad to come out on top in competition between the two.

It's not on the basis of one fluke innings. He has been rated since playing for different age groups. He has the 'talent' but he will need to apply himself and showcase good temperament to succeed in ODI cricket. He has a very good List-A record to back him up, anyway.

Babar nicked one to the keeper but umpire didnt give out. :afridi
#GreenRoars and every other regular posters. You might remember me telling you guys how the knives would be out for babar. See for yourself today. ;)

With Younis out, I think Sarfraz will move back to the no. 4 position.

Pakistan can discover a 16 year old Sachin 2.0 and PP would criticize his socks off....Given his domestic record and his bluntly apparent good technique and talent, its hilarious how people are on his case already.

The same people who were hyping Babar to the sky would have been out with the knives if Babar would have been given out.

Like i have said so many times. By putting such big expectations we set up a new player for failure. Poor babar. Not his fault that PPers are so fickle.

You misunderstood me. An experienced guy like sanga wouldve acted like he hadnt edged it. For example i remember once in a pak vs new zealand test mcculum edged it but started rubbing his arm to act like he was hurt and umpire gave it not out

Babar Azam looked good against pace so he can open but I think they'll play Shahzad

Lets see, btw Ehsan Adil had a FC average of 18 but he made a joke of himself. His runup was as long as that of Waqar and he was bowling 128k thunderbolts. Now on greentops he is getting wickets and Ppers are saying he has got his rhythm back.

Seriously, people need to grow up.

Later then, I gotta go.

Just let him play. I know he is talented and young and will have kinks to work out and have slow matches at times, or the odd stupid shot. It is what comes with the territory.

I don't claim him to be some superstar, but it's funny. We yearn for production from day one and don't have any patience with our kids.

Imad is more of a test batsman though, ironically he probably comes too late down the order, might be better replacing Younis at no.4.

If Bilal is a slogger then he could be useful down the order provided he can actually bowl.

Surprised to read this about mac. I understood you tho. I just found the wording funny. :))

A bowler is different to a batsman. Adil has recently increased his pace, it seems, and he is in the picture because of the lack of good right-arm pacers. He is young, and has time and room for improvement.

Regarding Babar, when you combine the way he has impressed at different age levels, plus his seamless transition to List-A cricket, plus his last couple of FC matches, then you understand the hype.

See the last 2 shots. :uakmal

Imad waaim in the team would have solved this issue

Yeah, all in favour of having patience with the youngsters. But strongly against hyping them to sky.

jammy boundary, a Hafeez century + Babar Azam half century would be class
