He didn't bowl well but we never had enough runs in our hands to play with. look at the situation. 7 wickets in hand, morgan and piterson is on the pitch. Evan a American football fan can guess its a chaseable target.

On guls bowling T20 is his own game and he surly will fight back. Now blaming everything on Gul is totally unfair. But i wouldn't mind anything from a guy only knows one thing(do u want me to remind u? sydney test kuch yaad aya. i didn't see u after that test match)
No one is blaming Gul for the entirety of the loss, he was part and parcel in there. But, that's not the point. The point is you: a disillusioned fan.

You quote the Sydney test for Gul's performance that won us the match. So, here goes:

1. We LOST the Sydney test.
2. Gul's figures: 4 for 121 at 30.5 average.

Help me out here. What should I think of a player whose biggest fan cannot come up with anything better than a best performance of 30.5 average in a losing match?

And what should I think of this fan?

Morgan is a serious talent. Phenomenal striker of the ball. No wonder he was so highly sought after at the IPL this year. Privileged to watch his innings. For the Pak fans, give Gul et al a break, I doubt any bowling attack could have defended 130 with Morgan in such a mood. As far as I'm concerned, I'm yet to see a better t20 specialist swing bowler than Gul.

Edited to say: Good luck for tomorrow!

taaveez, read "Animal" post. And u have a short memory as well. We had an argument about who is going to play the 3rd match. u were dancing in the first inning(ofcourse sami bowled well) and dising Gul but he came back strongly in the second inn. I didn't see u afterwards. Anyways thats history. I was just defending Gul cuz people like u come out from nowhere when Gul doesn't perform but never hear a single appreciating word when they do well. its not like i care but what a double standard one would say

Oh, I have a good enough memory, but the only match-winning performance I remember from Gul is the 2009 T20 WC. Ever since then, his graph has just come down, match after match, team after team. Sure, he'll have a spirited spell here and there, but I'm looking for a match winner of the likes of Aamer and Asif. If he can't win us a match or even an inning, he should just rest and let the upcoming youngsters get their deserving runs.

You keep flying back to the aftermath of the Sydney test, but did it ever tinkle your fantasy why so many of us checked out after Sydney? Something bigger happened in Sydney than Sami's and Gul's brief spells. So, lighten up.

For me, Gul is so far down into negative (in tests and ODIs) that unless he pulls off a match winner, I'm not going to bother salivating over his brief spells here and there. End of story.

^^^^ he is still the best bowling option we have. Just live with it. The reason we lost the match is, we couldn't score more runs. Their batsman weren't under pressure at all. If we had 20 more runs things would've been different.

Btw i would also criticize Gul's bowling for not bowling enough slower balls. He could've made batsman guessing but again there wasn't enough runs to play with. We have been shouting bring Sarfraz into team. If you are talking about such talent then i would be happy to stick with the current team and make them work harder.

To be frank it was always going to be hard to win from 39/4

what about 18/3 for england?

one set batsman with the help of bits and pieces can do it.......

back to the drawing board.

Such a shame that our players let themselves down by their antics.

Afridi - banned
Asif - cant enter Dubai - how embarrassing us
Akhtar- enuf said
Malik - backstabbing two captains

Fixed.

We desperately missed the hungry spiece today. I was getting the sense that from the dressing room he was really hungry for some action. Hope to see him tomorrow. His batting and bowling was desperately missed. Ajmal and him would of tightened the screws nicely in the middle something Malik couldnt do today.
Anyways, I'm hoping for a great return from Lala tomorrow and we shall level the series, Insha'Allah.

It was a good match. The better team won. Eoin Morgan is a good batsman, a lot better than any youngsters in Pakistan. Does Pakistan have any quality batsmen who averages in the 50s in odis or test in their domstic circuit, they desperately need a couple of them.

Gul's bowling is atrocious, where is his slower bowls, yorkerss, and variety in general. Can he only bowl to RHB??? He is so overrated. Just bcs we had a very beloow par score doesnt allow him to bowl rubbish.

Today proved that the ICL openers are a bunch of galli cricketers and that we need Lala at 1 down asap. I thought Fawad played well and stayed at the wicket when times were tough and his spot is justified in the t20.

Englands fielding was better than ours and their bowlers bowled with much more variety than ours. I have always thought that Saeed Ajmal is a very good spinner which he showed today 4-18 is very good bcs he actually, at one time, troubled morgan.

Arafat was the surprise of the day. I thought he did exceptionally well with the ball. took the early wicket we needed and bowl well with razzaq. his two boundaries at the end of batting were also good to see. Certainly didnt miss rana today.

Gul is the best t20 bowler, had a bad day today, or else the yorkers are magnififent and also Aamer was a good find but the youngster isn't getting the backup by the batsmen, really pathetic batsmen in the team.
