Technique of playing new ball is fundamentally flawed. Don't have foot work to cover line, cannot read the length or bowler from hand. Everybody looks worried and confused playing new ball, specially when its swinging. Whatever technique they have is lost, similar to what England does when ball is griping and spinning. This is 70 years old problem. We don't like to bat out of our comfort zone, there is a reason we are average team for all those 70 years.

England were going at 5 when they were 3 down two days ago. And they were setting a target not chasing 280.
 
Pakistan lacks batsman capable of chasing 250+

Strength as always lies with the bowling, so i felt the match was lost when Hales scored that century. 280 runs with new rules and UAE wickets are a tough ask for Pakistan.

Hopefully, next match Pakistan should bat first and score a competitive total
 
Sack azhar ali please this guy is just not good enough for odi cricket

It's ingrained right through the management structure. Until Waqar instills a more adventurous and attacking culture this prehistoric approach will continue.
 
We can not score over 150 against SA, NZ, AUS and ENG on fast bowling pitch with 4 fast bowlers in their side.

I would prefer them to get thrashed. Nothing will change if our bowlers keep bailing out these cowardly batsmen.
 
I'm sorry but to think this guy, Ifthikar would be the future of Pakistan is truly laughable and a very frightening thought.

Iftikhar is a dot ball merchant at the start of his innings, but he does have an extra gear... not sure if he's cut out for international cricket, though.
 
Unless we find a world class dynamic opener (like Saeed Anwar) we will never ever be able to move on from 90's era of cricket.

Nope. At four he kills the game. He can take time as is the case here. At six he has no option but to slog.

Also why play such a bat in the first place unless he opens. I would take Umar or Maqsood over Iftikhar at 2, 4, anyday.
 
That 4 aside, Azhar looks in HORRIBLE form right now. I get how important hajj is to us Muslims but he has hurt the team by going.

After watching this scary show I'm wondering what will happen in ENG next year? What can be worst than this?
 
Told you all. Iftikhar is rubbish. He gets stuck. Can't rotate strike, and another cricketer I am correct about. Go back to Peshawar and stay their. Rubbish batsman.
 
Do these idiots realize that they have to score 260ish in 40 overs now? Freaking terrible waste of 1/5 of the match.
