malik has started playing the ball on merit at this stage of his career.

10 an over in the last 9. Problem is one batsman at the crease is a good hitter of pace and one a good hitter of spin
Not both

If I was Malik I would beat everyone who threw away their wicket around him with his bat.

Akmal not even that good against leg spin. Not as weak as rizwan though

akmal has quick hands, sharp reflexes, great eye = natural talent but no brain.
This talent might help him keep out good balls but his lack of brains causes him to throw away his wicket like he has now.

As Umar gets out, Nick Knight tells us how he's such a talented player.

I can imagine people saying the same thing 10 years down the line.

Have the feeling that an Afridi special might win Pak this match, and no, i do not mean a duck with it. :inti

Afridi should bat sensible today, if he bats all the way through, a good chance we could still win

But he'll probably get out around 10-20s trying to hit it

oh God lala is here so early. It might be 6 down very soon.

Ironic. Best fielder one team takes the catch of the other.

The good thing is junior has given a whole over of spin to malik and afridi to make it count.

Talk about Umar's talent again. Commentators should just not even bother with it anymore.

There's no point criticising him anymore, people will give him unlimited chances on here and talk about how he's a must for LOIs because talent.

I wouldn't criticize Umar too much for the shot. Run rate was low, he played with the spin, there were gaps in the field, and he plays the slog sweep well. Combination of less than perfect execution plus a good catch lead to his dismissal.

Wicket is turning like day 5, no way they can score!! - We have not seen that kind of turn in test matches (day 5 even)

I'm always one to hate on Afridi, but this is silly logic. RR is 12, he has to play his shots for Pak to win. It's just likely one shot will go wrong and he'll fall short.

He gets out in this fashion way too often, which is the problem.

After once in a blue moon thing (Anwar Ali taking Hales & Root in first 7 balls) this is 6th consecutive loss for Pakistan in LOs & only 1 match was close for some chancy slogs.

Someone should lose his job....
