Just have a look Sarfraz.

Always looking to run, but Shezhad has no intention.

He is getting some freebies.

That is what I said. Plays with hard hands. No chance for a single hence.

Now he is taking singles easily ehen he is looking to place the ball in the gap.

Even the dot balls were hit well, just went right to the fielders. That's the kind of thing that will happen.

We are cruising here and people are wrist-slitting, makes for a terrible experience reading this thread.

Not wrist slitting, we don't have a strong batting line up so rather have a good start so the middle order can play with ease and finishers can finish it off and win comfortably with a healthy NRR whether it comes into play or not. I rather Pakistan for once chase convincingly because this is serious business now, the bowling has clicked, the batting MUST click now because its not an easy ride after this. Look at the bigger picture on whats to come. Where Shahzad has made his runs in boundaries I rather him rotate strike like Safraz is rather than play 4 dot balls and then score a boundary. Shahzad has struggled to open the innings whole tournament where we have faced the likes of Zims, West Indies and UAE. Irish have a weak line up, all teams have been taking their bowlers to the cleaners and piling on runs so why can our players not do the same knowing this is the only chance they have to settle in before the big matches against the big guns?

+1

Wrist slitting of the highest order.

What are you on about??

We are 50 without a loss in the first ten.

No matter how many runs shehzad has on the scoreboard in this game, he is just not convincing.

This is the perfect way to approach a chase though?

And we were 0 in the first over, Shahzad was 0 in 12 balls, I don't rate boundaries if there is no rotation of strike. We were 17-0 in the 5th over against an attack that has the weakest bowling attack this World cup.

Bro how much you are chasing?

Is it 238 or 438?

Sarfraz brought so much luck, passion, and runs with him.Pak started winning after he came to the scene.

Shows how well Pakistani pacers have bowled. Irish batting is not a typical minnow, they are decent.

This !! Irish batting has done well against top sides. I believe our bowling attack doesn't get enough credit from PPers.

17 from the over. Alhumdulilah. Its heart warming to watch pakistan play well.

Shehzad feasting on irish bowlers so far

MashAllah! This is too easy, Alhamdullilah.

The openers getting 50s each will give them a lot of confidence. After this, Sohail and Akmal should be sent up to boost their confidence too. Misbah should sit this one out and let the youngsters take care of the target.

Hope they promote Akmal for this game.

If we win, then we need him to score against his favourite opposition.

The Irish batting is very good, dead flat wicket isn't the best showcase for their batting, they are technically sound. But the Irish bowling is something we don't want to talk about.

It maybe but its not confident batting, giving it to the opposition. First 10 overs is the key in every game. We should be targeting to bat confident and chase with ease. Problem is I am not looking at just this game, I am looking at whats next for Pakistan because Shahzad cannot rotate the strike to save his life against Ireland, and he won't be hitting Aussie bowlers for many boundaries I tell u that. This is his chance to make his runs count and show he can stick around and play confidently and not just rely on boundaries. This is 50 over game not stick cricket. I rather it be played like it should.

Pakistan team doesn't get enough credit from PP full stop. Except for maybe one day after a good win where all the players are gods.

Completely agree. Misbah should relax and just enjoy the show.

You know what is key in the first 10 overs? Not losing any wickets. With the new rules a quick start is no longer that important when it comes to scoring big in 50 overs.

This.

Just see how India chased vs the U.A.E and Ireland. Even Zimbabwe.

if pak bat well ( the opposition bowling is bad) if they bowl well ( the opposition have ordinary batting), that's pp logic.

Going at nearly 7 an over chasing 230 odd without a loss.

And some people are still moaning.

Unbelieveable.

Completely agree with u bro. Shehzad just does not play the ball late enough to play it finer towards square and fine leg. If u see, he just bunts it to midwicket. Compare kohli with shehzz. The later doesnt play it under his yes and isn:t strong in the bottom hand

With any other batting line up yes, but not with this batting line up. I want Pakistan to play confident cricket and not nervy cricket and nervy cautious starts for Pakistan ends up in the deep hole and then the rest of the game just trying to dig out of that hole in survival mode. I am a passionate fan not just of Pakistan but cricket and have been for a very very long time. I want this team to prove they deserve to be in with a chance at the cup. Play with ease, play with confidence and not taking to the last 2 or 3 overs with less wickets in hand too. A total of 238 against this line up should be chased in before the 40th over. Which is why the first 10 overs I say is key to put the opposition under pressure by scoring freely and not just relying on boundary hitting.

I don't compare Shahzad to Kohli, there is no comparison really, Kholi is a class of his own, Shahzad is a toddler compared to the class Kholi is in.

totally agree.....glass always half empty, don't think any other fans are so negative

And when you point this negativity out, they reply that they are fans of the 90s brand of cricket which to my knowledge and experience was similar to what we are playing right now :P As a matter of fact some of the posters who point out the 90s were either just born in the mid 90s or were not old enough to actually understand the level of detail in a cricket match which we usually discuss on PP

Alot of unreasonable hate for Ahmed Shehzad. Any batsman can lack confidence. He's played really well since the start he had. Deserves appreciation.

They were 65 for 0 in the first ten.

What more do you want??

This.

Just see how India chased vs the U.A.E and Ireland. Even Zimbabwe.

Difference is, India know that they have a solid middle order with big hitters and who can also rotate the strike, and if that fails then they have top class finishers in Raina and Dhoni and Jadeja... Can we not compare India batting line up to Pakistan's because there is miles difference between the 2 teams.
