Kamran deserves a debut and Usama gets into the team because we need a proper spinner for the middle overs.

We need powerhitters don't see any in the squad. Our batting is actually stronger in ODIS than our bowling but need powerhitters to get those 350+ scores you'll need in the small Indian grounds.

Shan will play as he’s VC, Kamran will play as a gesture due to not being picked for the test side, and Agha will play because he played in the Netherlands. The only interesting pick here, barring perhaps Kamran, is Usama. I really really hope he grabs this opportunity with both hands.

I much rather if Fakhar and Haris were given a go, but they’ll lose out on grounds of not having played recently.

Fakhar may play instead of Shan but the rest of this team will be what I’m predicting.

In my XI I wanted as much batsman as possible, but they must be PROPER SKILLED batsman.

That meant I cut off slack debutants, domestic bullies, and parchis from my XI. That is why Imam ul Haq, Fakhar Zaman, Mohammed Rizwan, and Harris Sohail were my top 4.

I do hope they go with 5 proper bowlers. When Shadab & Nawaz were out in the series vs Australia, they only went with 4 man, one of which was Zahid Mahmood & used Ifti/Khushdil to complete 5th man overs. It was disastrous and they would have lost the series if not for that epic chase. 5 proper bowlers & Agha for left handers if needed keeps the bowling strong and the batting is deep enough.

Who is Usama Mir? Any idea about what the pitches are going to be like? If we see flat roads again then ODIs can be very boring with 350 being scored for fun, I seriously want some sportive wickets that could see 260- 280 being a winning score, hope so. That's when ODIs (or any format for that matter) are at their best.

The whole series will be pointless from a Pakistani perspective if newbies like Tayyab, Kamran & Usama dont get to play.

Nobody gives a toss about the results. For me it is about finding fresh blood.

Based on what Babar said, Shan probably won’t make the XI. I don’t care what his domestic stats are. He’s underachieved in all formats he’s been selected for despite his domestic stats. He couldn’t crack it in 10 years, time to let him loose.

Not watched Agha yet, but that looks a serious team for Asian conditions. When Shadab and SSA are back, semis in WC should be a minimum. As for this series, Pakistan should easily win.

ODI cricket, like T20 has no value outside WCs. This is an opportunity missed to try the likes of Mubashir and Ihsanullah( although its a good sign he is in the squad). Losing such a pointless series will be forgotten within a week but if we find a couple of players, then that will have a positive long term effect on all our cricket
