PAK win toss and bowl first. I would have batted but oh well.

Intresting to see how we go about chasing, kiwis were pretty aggresive in tests so should enjoy playing this T20
 
Was hoping for 'new blood' in the side but I've been hoping for the past 4-5 years.

Sohail Tanvir and Anwar Ali - my worst nightmare has come true.

The stats say that 85% of T20Is on this ground are won by team batting second, so that gives Pakistan the statistical advantage to start with. But Kane Williamson can take positives from the fact that Pakistan have lost 50% of their matches here.

I think Afridi said both Riaz and gul are fine, but Tanvir and Anwar are playing?

Umar Akmal should have opened instead of Sarfaraz.

Shame, Shezhad isn't playing and instead, we see have to watch zia. :facepalm:

Should have played Riaz in place of anwar.

I would love to see NZ posting more than a decent total probably 180+ so when can finally see some aggression from Ball 1 instead of tuk-tuk for 4-5 overs!

Death bowling will become an issue I think. Inexperienced apart from
Tanvir don't have many who could do the job. Depending how irfans fitness is after 16 overs fielding.

people on tv are speculating that shehzad is not playing because he is having phsycological issues after being hit with the ball in the test series. He must be shaken up, understandable considering Hughes died a few days later also due to a bouncer.
 
I thought Shehzad was fit to play but the XI on cricinfo doesn't show him

Did I miss something?

he performed well in champions league was in lahore lions team. Play spin very well. Plays well under pressure. Not as good against pace.

He is a part time leggie aswell.
 
WTH are Zia, Nasim, Haris Sohail and Anwar Ali doing in that lineup? Again Clueles selections once again which is no more a surprise. BTW just :)) at Haris Sohail in T20 lineup, should have debuted in Tests, instead he has been thrown into a T20 side, Mind Boggling!

Speculating!

I doubt he is shaken up! Doesn't seem mentally fragile at all.

I hope Haris does well, we all love him here. Also, Shehzad may be fit but let's not forget the "mental" side is still recovering. This recovery could take ages.

have you seen Haris sohail's twenty20 record? Averages 48 after 32 matches. Yes its at a slow strike rate, but he has finished many matches for sialkot in high pressure situations.

He is down with fever otherwise he would have played.

If it was psychological issues then he wouldn't be in the squad, in the first place,
 
i think they gave chance to Anwar cause he is not in odi
same goes with raza and zia . but shocked not to.see gul
 
Gul or Wahab should be playing instead of Anwar! When will we learn how rubbish he is?!
