such a low confidence, scared, back foot, and over cautious batting approach on a such a belta of a wicket, against such bowlers and having been on the wicket for so long ???...... only Pakistan can do that.

I single you out cos you made a comment about Misbah's score and used it against him...

This pitch doesnt have no demons fair enough...our top order decided to get themselves out regardless leaving us at a pathetic 107/4 and on the verge of collapse...

Misbah has come in with Shafiq and they have played boring cricket but they have got us 55 runs...Vettori has actually bowled well enough and hasnt troubled Misbah as opposed to Shafiq...but anyhow providing we get past their first innings score thats all im fussed about not how we get there...

This is a pitch where a slogger like McCullum made a 50 - all I ask is intent, Asad's batting just fine. But batting with a s/r of 20 erasing a smallish deficit, on a flat pitch, with zero intent and not even looking for a single? Sorry, I can't be happy with that.

@ Decipher

hopefully appointment of Miandad can make a difference...he should work with our batsmen after this tour and teach them the importance of strike rotation...

inability to pick 1s n 2s is also another reason why our batsmen have struggled to score 100s regularly...over reliance on boundaries has actually undone our batsmen...I have been ranting about this glaring issue for last couple years now...but there seems to be no improvement and the management/coaches continue to be blind...

Yousuf's class relies in the fact that he can score at a good clip just by picking 1s and 2s in limited overs...and it's this very ability of his that has translated into fabulous results for him & the team in Test cricket over the years...same with Miandad, Inzi and Younis Khan...all these guys understood the importance of 1s n 2s...besides it's this very 1s & 2s that builds momentum and fluidity and forces opposition to bowl loose deliveries etc...

we as fans can clearly identify the problems but those in charge are oblivious

Well said, I agree, when Inzi, Yousuf and Younis were in a team together we were guaranteed hundreds and big scores from each with a big team total too and really big partnerships, they rotated strikes, found the gaps and hit the odd boundaries too.

One person who can rotake the strike is Shoiab Malik he's good at finding the gaps too. Yousuf is still needed in this format.

Someone needs to get a hundred. Both of these players have got a start and had some luck - need to convert!

Amen to that brotha !!

you are spot on.

Taylor captain now. Vettori off the field.

Arnel on.

109 behind. Need to get it under a hundred and it'll help mentally.

lots of application being shown by Shafiq....hang in there buddy!!!

missed out there! should have smashed that for 4 as well!

Pak 170/4 - 105 behind.

A slogger like McCullum could make a fifty on any pitch but he can just as easily make a duck next innings...

Im not going to say this is a sparkling innings by any means but he is one of our more reliable batsman atm...I trust him to protect his wicket and he doesnt look in trouble albeit not aggressive against the spinners which is not something I can say about most of the Pakistan team...and with Shafiq going ok he doesnt need to be aggressive against Vettori...

Partnerships 63 and these two have dug us out of hole...if Misbah wasnt playing we would have been skittled out for less than 200....

I'm actually loving this batting from the batsman, even Misbah. Almost anything from the fast bowlers on the stumps is going for runs which is how it should be.

Haven't been able to watch the entire innings.

Is it safe to assume that Shafiq is playing very well, and deserves his spot over U Akmal?

:))) why the hell has rameez got sunglasses on in combo box.
