sehwag was master of playing dese kind of innings alot before 2011 everywhere be it in australia ..innings of 195...or west indies, sri lanka, pakistan everywhere.....my favourite batsman..a player who dare to complete 300 by hitting a six...unbelievable.. ....brendon will be much much better batsman in test matches if he alwaz play his innings with the same approach as he is doing it now..

Speaking of Sehwag, he's 2nd, 3rd and 4th on the list of fastest double tons behind Nathan Astle's wonderful innings against England. I don't want to jinx it but McCullum could well slot in somewhere in between Sehwag's offerings of 168, 182 and 194 balls for the double ton."

hmmm copy paste

I wish pakistani players can show this kind of grief

You can't when on 1 hand you have 5'4 batsman that is approaching 30 but is still considered a youngster, and on another hand you have someone who was a legspinner his entire life but started to bat at the age of 22. And with Misbah-ul-Tuk at the helm you will see blocking no matter the pitch or the match situation. It's either block or slog, sadly it's more of the former than anything.

Only thing I accept from you is that you are a bandwagon fan. When the team wins, you cheer. When they have one bad game, you whine and complain. Pak cricket is better off without fickle fans like you.

Great double ton, good effort.

Three more runs and he would have seen the debt off his team. A bit unfortunate but it looked like that ball turned quite a lot.

Now they need to bat long and grind the bowlers here. Maybe until lunch tomorrow and then bowl at pakistan.

knee jerk reaction

entire life of 22 is not that of 35 where azhar chose the different path
should I list down the names of players who started their career as bowlers but ended as good batsmen & here azhar started his career as a batsman who comes after weak & fragile openers

Huge innings defeat on cards, should have gone for chase in last game . now suffer

Please tell me, because I can also tell you that Shoaib Malik was a bowler but turned into a batsman and we know how he turned out... also Ashwin was a opening batsman who turned into a bowler and he is rubbish as well.

The only exception is Kevin Pietersen but by the age of 29 he had 16 hundreds, average of 50 at SR of 63. He was a flamboyant and exciting cricketer, Azhar is not.

ravi shastri

ravi shastri

lol and Shastri is rubbish and only reason people know of him is because he is a commentator (like Rameez Raja). The guy averages 29 in ODI which is Afridi-esque. But even then, he was an all-rounder, Azhar Ali played in U15, U17, U19 as a leg spinner and doesn't bowl it at all now, he is meant to be a pure batsman which is absolutely ridiculous.

I think we peoples are on selfish side by not praising kiwiz for this batting rather bashing our bowlers, we should acknowledge kiwiz batting open heartedly

so its bound if somebody stated his FC career as bowler he should only bowl

Good over from Yasir. Troubled Taylor consistently who I think needs to bend his knees a bit more and try to get to the pitch of the ball. At the moment, the only thing that is saving him is he's playing with a very straight bat.

Puts Williamson's technique into perspective as he seems like he could play spin with his eyes closed.

& for ravi, he started his career as #11 batsman & this is the only reason behind his low average other wise he ok batsman if not great.

It's bound that if you do something your whole life, you can't immediately change and do something else at a PROFESSIONAL level. Being a professional batsman/bowler for your country isn't something you pick up over night, you do it from a young age (starting from the age of 3-5). If you cannot grasp that then I have nothing else to say.

my dear friend whole life is not the sum of 22 years.........

its not like that azhar change his field at 32

They batted so fast there is no need to declare. Just try and score enough to only need to bat once

Taylor looks really uncomfortable out there. We need to keep bowling Yasir and I suspect Taylor will give his wicket away in the next few overs.

If last 2 days has taught us anything is lot more mental game then anything else. It's not even 50/50, more like 80/20... As soon as they did not care about wining or loosing or rather playing, they look like belong to a different planet.

It's very different and strange thing we have experienced. Blaming anybody is silly, it's more of a social experiment!!

He may be looking uncomfortable, but he has still scored 24 off 33. Not 5 off 46 like some players in our team.

What are you failing to understand, he was leg spinner his whole life until he decided to become a batsman at the age of 22

lets see this with another angle, a man started to think about his life after he passed his teens, after 19 years out of 22 somebody told azhar or even he himself think that he has a good batting technique & temperament so he should focus on his batting rather bowling.

No one is stopping him from focussing on it, but you need to understand that in professional sports, at the absolute top level, if you start to bat or bowl from the age off 22 then you will never catch up to the elite level. He is not a #3 batsman and isn't a natural batsman full stop.

Nz played for a win, its not about not caring about anything. We chased a total at 5 rpo on day 5 because we wanted to win at any cost.

If there is a cricketer I despite the most it has to be Imran Farhat for the politics he played and his deluded and arrogant demeanour. But even Farhat is a better opener than Azhar Ali.

I have some influence on misbah & I make you sure that from next match on behalf of me misbah wouldn't select him as a batsman & azhar will only play as leg spinner.......ok now

ab to khush ho jao bhai...........
