he deserves every bit of it. maybe just maybe a more deserving player would have made a difference at no. 3 which is the most vital position in the line up

Barring Asad rest of the Batsman merit their place in the XI so obviously YK will get the boot. But don't worry, the Pakistani Team man and darling of national lobbyist would still be played down under.

True. Pakistan and England both obsessed with this method. Whenever Pakistan attack they get runs and don't lose wickets. Still they want to start with platform of 40/3 after 15 overs. You guys should be happy though. After this display, no way can PCB persist with Asad Shafiq, and even Younis can't get countless chances.

it's the series situation combined with unbalanced batting attack and an awkward total which doesn't require you to go full throttle but can creep on you the longer it goes on
 
Watch Pakistan come close before losing this game and then Misbah and Afridi come out and justify both match strategy and team selections. And then watch the same players get on the plane to Australia together with old losers like Shoaib Malik, Razzaq etc. Very much like England team. Atleast they are trying to put young talent in, we are trying to actively suppress them.

I don't even want him in the Down Under tour.


I think he is a horrible ODI player.

But I love how some fans just take out their bias on one player whether he was culprit or not.

Yesterday he hit a 100 , he was culprit.

Today he got out early he is culprit.

Its funny how average intelligence of a fan is.
 
Asad has serious problem with the ball that pitched up and comes in a bit. I swear even I can take singles on those pies.
 
I bet they dont even know how much runs are required! They r playing as if they have nothing to chase!
 
Shehzad isn't timing the ball today. Only a boundary so far in run chase.

When it comes to cricket and Pakistani fans, generally, there is no such thing as the above. It's all about feelings and emotions :D
 
Irrespective of the fact Pakistan chase this miracle down or not , I don't think this was a 275 pitch.

Too hard to time the ball on this pitch.
 
Imran Khan cleaned up Pakistan cricket of many ills - politics, fixing, favoritism etc. Since he is gone, everything slowly crept back in. We don't need fake unity where everyone in the team wins while the country loses. We need a lot of these people gone. Am I ranting on the wrong thread?

NZ made that score by rotating the strike very cleverly. They weren't exactly hitting loads of boundaries either early on.
 
Really disappointed in Shehzad after his duck in the previous match he seems to be playing for himself. As an attacking player he should be taking more responsibility for the run rate.
 
Did any1 see shehzad do that bat spin technique Kohli usually does :))) This guy :facepalm:
 
Atleat first 4 batsmen have the chance to win the matches... But when umer, afridi and sarfaraz come to bat , almost pakistan have lost the match

NZ barely hit boundaries.

Most of their score was rotation of strike in middle overs.

Singles and doubles.

I doubt Pakistani batsmen can manage that.

Pakistan top order has a big problem. They have too many similar players and leave too much for Afridi, Sarfraz and Akmal to do. You cannot score at 3 per over and expect your hitters to make up for all the slow batting. This was Pakistan's approach in 1999 WC I remember. They had Wasti and used Abdul Razzak at number 3 to bat really slow and preserve wickets, so that they can slog in the latter stages to get to 225-250. That was a good approach in 1999 in England but I don't think that approach will win them many games in the current environment. They don't have same great bowling attack of the 1999. The 1999 team had Akram, Akthar, Razzak, Azhar, Saqlain etc....
 
[MENTION=8]MIG[/MENTION] you really need to stop making pathetic excuses for Younis khan and our inept batting line up in general. Our bowling is on par if not worse than India as it is and our batting is on par with Zimbabwe.

Best thing to come out of this is that the world cup will not be a distraction for me since we will be knocked out early :)

Another day and Another Asad Shafiq Failure. Shame on the Team Management for persisting with this undeserving character.
 
I just cant understand the strategy of pak..hw can they hold back their best batsman akmal,who is better than our raina..
 
This should be fun now.

Shehzad, Haris & Akmal my fav 3 in line followed by Afridi and Sarfaraz. After that though with Anwar Ali :(
 
Can people see why we need Umar Akmal at number 4. I would go with Harris at 3. Then Maqsood at 6. MUQ at 5.
And 1 of Hafeez and Shehzad need to be told to get on with it.

Haris and Misbah to hold and the rest of the guys should play freely. Especially if Afridi is your number 8!!

The single biggest mistake (And there have been many ) is not giving Umar the confidence and making him the permanent number 4.
Now he is just playing for his place everytime, and he has become mentally weak. This should have been worked on up to now by giving him confidence and letting him know we believe in him. his record is pretty decent- and very good in ICC tourneys.
 
pakistans batting was always week. But now thye have been using part timer bowler to accomodate third grade ODI players like yunis and asad.
