What a lame thing to say, particularly for test match cricket. In tests its not talent alone which makes you go a long way, its application and playing according to situations

Nowadays in all teams even tailenders try to show application and play responsibly when needed. If you let Umar off the hook now, he is never going to learn how to value his wicket.

The entire coaching staff and PCB and the retired seniors will jump on to Umar Akmal with their philosophy to play slow... (aaraam sey khaylo beyta ... khayaal sey khelo)... and he will turn into another tuk tuk tuk tuk over cautious and under confident batsman to lose his wickets for 11 runs after playing 97 balls.
 
I really don't why even Misbah is in the team .... lol ... there is series of lazy shots from Younus khan ... he gets in ... then play some lazy shot ... then just open his mouth show his sparkling teeth ... like as it is cologate dude test lol

Not only that but Umar Akmal's case was different. I would lay some portion of the blame on Misbah for his Farting on the pitch in the name of test captain on the crease. Misbah puts the entire batting order pressure and these youngsters simply get frustrated to score quick runs.
Umar Akmal still remains extremely immature in my books though.
 
Umar needs a break, no doubt about that. But its unfair to bash him for this position as Hafeez/Younus were well settled before succumbing to soft dismissals.

umar akmal didnt even play 10 balls , he should first get used to the pitch then hit it. he saw all the field in and went bad, what a joker. pakistan cant afford him

He's been ruled out for the series but was seen today in the dressing room. He's either getting a few days holiday in Dubai or waiting for his turn to bat.

Those defending jnr ******* need to wake up..that was a pathetic shot and as of now he should be dropped from test cricket for a long time..brainless fool..in test cricket yu have to expect a dismissal like misbah, that can happen, but jnr needs a good lashing!! Azhar is a much better batsman than this flash in the pan!!

They deserve a different category of criticism.

And although they made faults, Umars' fault was more serious. Both for the team as well as his own career.
 
wow what a Debut against World number 1 bowler. if he survives him i would say Adnan have some batting talent
 
I just wish we get as close as possible to 380. wont mind a 10-20 runs leads but we must score 350 atleast to stand a gud chance otherwise SA will eat us alive in 2nd inings and already no Riaz will hurt us badly.

Why are our tailenders so optimistic?

Ajmal and the tail need to support Azhar now like they did for Zulqarnain during his 88 back in England.
