He was averaging 20 having played 10 tests. He's done extremely well to go from 20 odd to 35.
 
Babar is Way Ahead Of Any Asian Batsman in T20 Except Kohli .babar averge May be Better butKohli Played More innings and Still has averge of 50 .
 
Afg spinners look like almost world class bowlers and than you have their fast bowlers who bowl like tape ball TRUNDLERS lmao

And i agree with that. But even then, does his test career so far suggest that he has done better than Rohit or Dhawan? Isolating his last year's test performance is a bit unfair i think. I am sure Rohit or Dhawan also would have had 1 or 2 years of brilliance in test cricket. In tests Babar has to do a lot more. And i am his big fan, i want him to do well.
 
Babar is in some serious form - as expected, he is the most crucial player of PAK WC fortune. If team is to make SF, he’ll need to contribute 500+ runs at a better SR than his current career SR.
 
They bowled Waist height slower balls LMAO. Any decent hitter. I would back him to launch at least 2 sixes in an over.

He needs to go back to batting no.3 or no.4 then we'll see how much he's improved.
 
Dont be totally fooled by the pitch..it isnt a massive bunsen burner..if you get in its flat..Rashid and Mujeeb are just that good..but we'll see how our spinners bowl..

To give examples Amla and ABD also had mediocre starts to their test careers. Babar is only 24 so he will get better.

It’s a turner for sure. Afghanistan spinners are good but that doesn’t mean this pitch is not a turner

Our spinners are crap. Imad is not a spinner
Shadab will get turn
 
Hopefully not a jinx but I hope Babar can keep batting after making a century. Needs to learn to make it count and not just throw it away.
 
Get Afghanistan spinners in England squad and you'll have a formidable. Unbeatable team

It’s not that Imad can occasionally spin the ball on turning tracks, it’s just that the ball can’t resist the temptation.

this is where Mickey is completley useless..he just doesnt get what a good spinner is supposed to look like..
 
Our batsmen really need to target bowlers better and make better plans against each bowler. Lefties should have been more cautious against offies i.e Fakhar and Haris while Hafeez should have ideally targeted an off spinner rather than Rashid who spins the ball away.
 
Haris should be kicking himself for missing out here..a poor bowling attack, poor fielding and a pretty good surface..

Haris a crap poor batter, he has nothing to show for in international career except for two highly selfish centuries in ME. He will disappoint more often then he will impress. I highly doubt his runs tally crosses 200 in this WC.

I'm impressed with Afghan teams attitude. They could have been greedy and gone for the win and bowled out their best bowlers but they actually are playing this as a practice match.

They have left behind the minnow mentality or maybe they never even had it. They appeared as mentally top team and are now skills are just catching up.
 
Ideally shoiab malik should play against ban afghanistan sl and haris should play against other teams

Agreed! and India as well . . Malik and Hafeez should be in the line up against teams that will bowl 20 overs plus of quality spin!

They always save Rashid and Nabi for last 10-15 overs as their pacers are mediocre. Nothing new here

Malik with his experience predicting Aftab will bowl a full delivery after short ball. I've talked about this before, his most sixes against pacers now come due to his vast experience
 
Good last 5 overs with 39 runs added to the scoreboard. Do the same in the next 5 overs and then score 120 off the last 10 overs. This is what's needed if Pakistan are going to score 350.
 
I hope Shadab does well today. He is more important bowler for us than many realize because he is only proper spinner we have and especially against teams like Eng, Aus, Sa, Nz.
