No doubt that leadership wise Imad > Current Malik who doesnt seem to have any interest in cricket

Really impressed by Imad's captaincy since PSL this year. Should be made VC and take over after WC.

Rashid performed brilliantly in Asia Cup almost won a game against India and Pakistan. Both the teams are good against spin. Talking about major team ( SENA ) they are already weak against spin bowling, so I would definitely rate him higher than Chahal.

Batting would be pretty strong with this set up. I hope Saad Ali can show bit of power game as well today because if he can hit we would have a pretty decent lower middle order with Saad, Hafeez and Imad.

Than clearly you haven't played cricket to understand the quality of players, bowling fast and pushing the ball through does not work against top sides, you need to be able to bowl with spin and at the right pace. In that Asia cup game what happened against Pakistan - he was negated by Babar and Imam and only took a wicket in the end overs because our run rate had climbed to 10 per over.

I really liked his captaincy even 3-4 ago in Pentangular cup where Federal Team won under him.

So far he has shown utmost accuracy in 2 seasons of big bash. Will see how he performs at international level. But the kind of varieties he is having can be lethal against any top player.

T20 and ODI are just not comparable. Than Amir is a top 5 bowler in the world if you go off T20s and league cricket.

He has a List A SR of 85 so we can hope... but might be another one of the nudgers and accumulators brigade :inti
 
Too bad Imad was never tried out as captain before.

Rizwan is a better keeper and bat than Sarfraz.

Sarfraz is just another passenger along with Malik

the problem with Imad as captain is that he still isn't always a guaranteed starter. His batting has clearly improved, but he is still a #7 batsmen, who averages 40+ with the ball

with Shadab in the team, not sure Imad gets into the playing 11 in Aus/Eng/Saf/NZ. Imad is still a bits and pieces cricketer
 
Pakistani bowlers keep attacking the stumps. It is very clear from endless analysis that if you do not have peace or swing, best bowl in the corridor outside off.

Agree for tests, but not sure about ODI/T20's. Even if Sarfraz doesn't bat long he usually does keep his SR close to 100 and rotates the strike easily.

Rizwan is already superior to Sarfraz in tests even before his debut. No doubt about that.

Exactly. His stats are VERY inflated due to him playing associate teams

PPers really rate Saud Shakeel as well but the guy can't even hit sixes. We really lack power hitters

and most of the time he doesn't even come up the order, he stays as low as he can.

doesn't have the ability to hit either.
 
This Carey is good keeper batsmen. He is no Gilchrist but defo better than Wade and the likes that Aus kept trying.
 
Will 265 be more than adequate ? Anything in pitch for bowlers ?

He is one of those PPers who will never settle with anybody... Always changes the squad and the batting order, such an inconsistent mindset to be a selector or a head coach.. Best he can do is be a bowling coach..
 
Tim murtagh is higher than Amir and Junaid in the odi bowling rankings but still people rate them

Because they're accommodating Malik and Hafeez. Even Rizwan would have to bat at 6/7.

I have watched the game in bits, but it seems like Yasir has finally found the right length to bowl

Only those people who find Sarfaraz as the spawn of the devil were thinking it was amazing captaincy. Most people who had some semblance of cricketing knowledge didn't think so.

i'd back rizwan to hit more boundary shots than sarfraz.

rizwan is the lesser of two evils basically.

and what good is a 10 off 10 and 12 off 12?

and those scores are useless at number 7 anyway
 
Umpire’s call is the worst rule in the game of cricket.

The ball is either hitting the bails or not; no percentage.

I can't believe people still pay attention to the ICC rankings. Did you have a look at the "all-rounders" rankings?
 
Shadab over Imad for the first couple of WC matches at least. IW9 cannot do much when the batsmen decide to go after him.

I maintain what I said about Hasnain earlier . . he's got potential . but he doesn't ahve the pace to play just on pace . . he is not bowling 94 95! he isn't even averaging 89 today . . plus he does nothing with the ball . . so he needs to either pick up more pace, or start doing something with the ball . .
 
Last match nephew dropped Maxwell and he killed us, this match Rizwan dropped him and he has brought out the butcher knives again.
 
If we were going to give youngsters a chance we should have tried out Rauf as well.



His 147-150kph yorker after yorker would have been handy right about now.
 
This is where someone like Hasnain with his pace and bit of reverse should deliver couple of quick wickets to get his team ahead
 
Another 50+ runs loss coming in a few hours.
Our 2nd best batsman is also not playing today.

Rauf over Abbas and Umer Khan/Zafar Gohar over Yasir Shah any day in LOIs but obviously Mickey and Inzi have bigger plans which we cant understand at the moment

Why keep bringing Zafar in the picture? Did he even played an international game for pakistan yet? Yes he may be matter in domestic I dont know but both yasir and any new commer are liability at this point.

And to be honest We have No Spinner for WC if you ask me. All rounder who can bowl spin yes but No proper spinner who can be a threat to opposing team.
 
One of the greatest strengths of AUS cricket is that whichever player is under threat (of his position), some how starts to deliver. May be they are groomed in a system uncompromising, ruthless and too competitive, which creates a survival attitude among their cricketers. This guy Maxwell was living on edge few months back, while Finch would have been booted by IND tour had the other 2 been there - those two & Khwaza have won two tough series, and now that Handscomb has batted brilliantly, so they guy in firing line is Carey - it's his time to shine.................. and we do believe that Aussies are 6th ranked team, shaky about making a SF spot in WC :(

He played an ODI where he took couple of wickets. I wasnt talking about WC but about this series where Yasir is being tried
 
Excited to watch Abid Ali, he's suppose to be the second coming of Salman Butt, very classy batsmen.
 
Hasnian being young and with that rush of blood sometimes over tries, he just needs to stick to the basics

He has been a good performer for his career in domestic, however last year he was the best bat and also you have to consider he batted on the tougher pitches where alot of batsmen couldn't even cross 20-30 runs he was making centuries. Lets see how he does, I reckon he is fighting for the backup opener spot.

What about his strike rate? Heard he is more of a First Class player.
