Well played to both teams!

A good match. Paese poore ho gaye! :afridi

Salman Butt..... Kamran Akmal...... Muhammad Aaamir.... Muhammad Sami..... Saeed Ajmal.. Shahid Afridi ( Goood Captaincy)...... and reamingin bachaas.... Well Played

21 run win is huge! Doesn't show how tight the match was at one stage.

comfortable win at the end but bowling need to work on a few things for tomorrow

Full Credit to Salman Butt and Kamran Akmal ( Dropped one difficult one although) but still Well Played

Good match!

Afridi, Hafeez, Razzaq bowled pretty poorly - way too short. This match should never have been this close. We should have won this by 50+ runs.

congrats Pak, now win tomorrow as well, and be at the top of ur pool.

we are still at the top if (Khuda na kare) we loose to australia.... bcoz we are top seated...... :)

Good to know we found the bowler potential to succeed in death over like Sami. Will he succeed against Australia in death over?

I will never forgive Shahid Khan Afridi for not utilizing Saeed Ajmal service in death completely.
We knew he was expert in death overs, but instead we took risk with Sami. I know he has bowled well, but if he has cost the match. He has done it before.

Sami, Ajmal should be in death overs and keep Shahid USELESS Afridi away from the death overs, and let him concentrate on attacking mode after the first powerplay.

Win or loss tomorrow...Pakistan will stay on the top of the group.

Well done Pakistan.

We won. Bit close for comfort.

Harder opposition tomorrow though. Pakistan will need to step it up.

according to cricinfo

"Mohammad Sami to Naeem Islam, 1 run, 55.8 mph, drives hard wide of mid off to turn the strike over "

It was not a one off, have a look at this

"Mohammad Aamer to Mohammad Ashraful, OUT, 56.0 mph, well, he can get himself out, that's what! Ashraful lives by the sword, and also dies by the sword. Maybe the situation now needed him to manufacture a boundary, he hopped across towards off stump to look for a fine lap or pull shot, but it went too fine this time. Kamran, who's put down a couple, dives to his left and takes a beauty"

crcinfo giving speed

Mohammad Aamer to Naeem Islam, no run, 56.7 mph, <-- Yeah right I'm sure a jealous Indian is measuring the speed

Sami did well. He got the important wickets at the end. He deserves his place in the next match ahead of asif. Butt has also seeped his place tomorrow

mubarak to the pakistan team! we had a few scary moments but afridi showed great captaincy.. inshallah we will beat the aussies 2morrow..

I'm so happy Pakistan won! I'm particularly happy for Kamran and Sami. Forza Pakistan always.

im a bit worried about afridi's form..thought hafeez did ok in his first two overs then got a bit tonked in the next..sami and aamir looked good...we need afridi to get some form back and we'll have the perfect bowling lineup for this tournie!

:afridi in presentation ceremony..... Afridi: "It was a great performance, especially from our openers. The old ball is not easy to hit on this pitch, so I thought 170 was a very good total. Shakib and Ashraful worried us a bit, but we had confidence in our fast bowlers. Sami was specially very good."

Shakib: "We did not start well with the ball, though we finished well. We are confident about the next game. Ashraful and I played really well, and one of us should have stayed till the end. We will give our 100% the next time as well."

LOL they need to get a new gun. Probably forgot to change the speed gun from the last match where the speed gun doesn't measure anything over 60 mph :akhtar

Salman Butt in Man of the Match: "The pitch was slow. Having played two games here, we knew runs are hard to come and we needed to run hard. I thank the captain and coach for backing me. I relied a lot on cricketing strokes. I liked to keep it simple."

Salman Butt is right man of the match..... FINE FINE innings from him.... and good support from Kamran Akmal. Then Excellent Bowling from Muhammad Amir and Muhammad Sami.... and Finest Last over bowled by Saeed Ajmal

And almost everyone here was bashing Sami

Basher? I think it's fair to say that Sami was trying to clean his own mess.
He along with some bowlers were the reason that our openers with tremendous partnership could have been in vain.

In the end I think Sami won us the match

No, he didn't. If he hasn't, he would be responsible for Pakistan defeat. He had to perform at the end, or otherwise, he would have been kicked out right away and rightly so.

It's because of him, we were in this kind of position in first place which we shouldn't.
