Pakistan vs Canada - Warm up Match on March 6th (Thread 2)

89/3 after 19, Rao gives up six for the last over, now has given up 21 runs after 4 overs, still a bit too expensive, unless he gets another wicket

This is a warmup game, where the team tries to sort out its combination. Gul is bowling well so he doesn't need to prove much but Rana needs to sort things out thats why Rana bowls and Gul is taken off. We are not playing this match to win it, we are playing to get used to the conditions and to find form.

So far so good, remember it is Canada, but if we bowl them out cheaply, the boys will gain in confidence, especially for the SA game next

Rao on fire 3rd wkt 21/4.1 and 3 wkts.

I think Rana may have step aside if Rao keeps this up.

i would like him to step up... i like rana...but he is killing me now
 
If Rana does not do well in the SA game, the pakistani management really need to make a difficult decision and drop Rana, you can not have someone who gives up so many runs, you saw what happened to SA last world cup when Alan Donald gave up 8 runs an over in the world cup
 
We really need to make a serious decision about Rana. For me he has been costing us way too many matches over the past year. If they are unable to slot him in to a position where he is affecive then he is a liability and should be removed. Consideraion should be given to a proper line up, if containement is in order then Rao should be in. Azhar can be used as back up and Gul can be the attacking option. Kanaria, Afridi and Malik can constitue the attacking spin options.

Rana needs to find his Modjo in the next warm up match otherwise the axe should be wielded. Too many flying starts courtesy of Rana is no good. The man has heart but his radar has gone awol.
 
Off topic Bangla updat Bangladesh 129/3 after 30 overs, with NZ scoring 226, could be a tight finish

It will most likely fall on the head of Kaneria from what i've learned of Inzi and Bobi

And what pray tell has Afridi done to warrant a spot above Hafeez? Batting nada, bowling so-so.
 
I am not so sure about Younis opening. He is too valuable a batsman to lose early on. I would say he should stick to number 3 and someone else should open instead. Let malik open, he can get the same effect as Younis at the top. Younis needs to be the one who sets up our innings.

I think we cannot have 3 specialist bowlers and still play 4 all rounders like Hafeez, Malik, Azhar and Afridi. we have to choose 2 or 3 at the most

My nod will be for Malik and Afridi and maybe Azhar but...
with Hafeez playing a decent inning iand afridi being Afridi and Malik not clicking it is becoming a difficult selection decision.
We we still have SA to sort this out.

been about 25 minutes from the last update, sight screen must have fallen over again, so we should expect about 50 more minutes of waiting and seeing

i think arafat should have been tried instead of azhar. dunno y our management is afraid of playing the new guns

I don't think Arafat and Sami are approved replacement yet. Have not seen offical confirmation anywhere.
 
This is crap, we need to get together and send a PPer to all Pakistani games with a mobile phone or laptop with satellite access and do ball by ball commentary, i for one am willing to volunteer my services for the nominal fee of room and board and flights to the matches, i will pay my own match fees

qaiser ali playing for Canada, hes the guy whose meant to have played for pakistan under 19s many many years ago...
 
wow azhar mahmood picking up a couple here ... his bowling didn't look to bad in the few overs he got in RSA.
 
time to bring rana back in to do the only thing he's good at ---> bowling tailenders with those reversing yorkers.

They (Pak team management) probably want to ease him into some match practice after him missing out on cricket for a while. Last thing Pak need is another injury to Gul.
 
Well overall so far a pretty good display of bowling, only if Rana can find his form we will be good to go
