Pakistan vs New Zealand | 1st ODI | Abu Dhabi | Nov 7, 2018 | Pakistan Innings

And to think we had NZ at 207/7 and really should have stopped them at 230 but all thanks to Hasan "swagger" Ali

Dude listen... this is cricket its played on the ground. You can make expert comments sitting here but Sarfi position is correct. Today we had a collapse and he managed to bring the team in decent position. Makil and Hafeez are way more experienced than them. So stop treating it like a PS4 game
What ridicuousness.

There is no correlation between my comment and some fantasy land. This odd need to correlate statements with something not said is a common theme among Sarfraz supporters.

When we succeed, Sarfraz is given all this credit despite him never scoring runs in that success, when we lose, he is given no blame because he comes so low that it's the top orders fault.

What experienced comments? We're writing on a forum our opinion so just as yours, mine is the same value but I have facts and the facts being Sarfraz has lost every ODI series as captain against good squads and in the CT, he had no impact on winning at all.

Now let's speak in facts, not PS4.

That 8-3 killed the game, otherwise bottom half has fought well here. This is becoming a major issue for PAK in chase - top order leaves to much to cover, either by getting out quickly or taking the asking beyond reach.

This team needs Azhar to strengthen the batting. Someone who can play 30+ overs like CT final. Team getting bowled out in 30 overs cant worry about him being slow. Another obvious change needs to be Abbas or Amir need to replace Junaid. Need strike bowlers from both end. Abbas should be tried in ODI.

260 odd target and we are on course to lose by 30-40 runs. Our fans call this “fight back”

Pakistani fans and their choti choti khushiyan.

little bit of fame and they are done and dusted

Absolutely especially when it comes to Pakistani players. Be that in any sport in Pakistan. Because they're mostly coming from the poorest backgrounds and then a little limelight takes away the true reason of their fame which is to be the best that they can be for the country.

We may have choti khushyaan but today is a joyful occasion for you...

Couple of full tosses were let go to the keeper because batsmen were trying to hit them too hard.

And since then, we have a 100% losing record in ODIs against quality sides, and not a word of criticism from your end on Sarfraz’s captaincy.

Here comes another loss, and I am sure you have an excuse ready. I guess profile pictures are too dear to some folks.

I suggest you learn to read (the match thread), rather than spread misinformation.

In terms of today's game: he kept well, batted well (excellent knock in the context) and captained pretty well but I think he made a couple of mistakes which I mentioned in the match thread. All that said, it's not his fault if Hasan has forgotten how to bowl at the death or if the top three gets out in three balls, or if Malik and Imam throw their wickets away, or if the umpire is blind. Or am I missing something?

Sarfaraz is comfortably Pakistan's highest scorer today, but according to you he had a terrible game :)).

When a captain is leading you need to support in his bad times just like the glorified UA been supported and given many chances. Sarfi is batting at right position under hafeez and Malik. Sometimes it ll fail sometimes it 'll work. Today he played a great knock stabilized the team..Period

You need to watch CT17 games more closely lol if you say he had no impact in winning them:shh

Boult MoM for me (unless Imad smashes 35 in 2 overs to win the game). That one over took out both players whom could have chased the target.

What about Tom Latham? I think without him they were definitely losing this.

2 from Southee, 1 from Lockie and 1 from Sodhi... that is the equation.

No no need of word salad. I will repeat my question - Sarfraz has been losing ODI games left right as captain against quality teams. If he is such a great tactician and you and his other bakhts say, why has he not been able to turn around at least one of those defeats with his brilliant captaincy?

Yes you are missing something - you are missing the fact his own performance has been rubbish for over 12 months and one knock in a losing cause does not make up for it.

This isn’t just about today. You have barely put together 2-3 posts to criticize his losing streak as captain.

Leaving a wrist spinner for the 48th over. Bold move by a SENA captain. Got to give credit to KW. He's willing to adapt his captaincy according to the situation.

Gets to 50 and gets out... could have seen that from a mile away.

Game doesn't work that way - it's looking close because Imad & Sarfraz took the score close once Kiwis were in comfort zone. I don't think PAK would have chased 230 here today from that 8-3 start. Latham's innings look vital, because Kiwis lost 4/1, otherwise they were always on course for 250.

I put it other way - credit to Latham, but do you think 266 was enough here, unless it was 8-3 with FZ & Babar gone for combined 1?

These NZ'anders are superhuman when it comes to fielding. Nothing goes past them!

But wasn't the ball coming onto the bat better at night in this game? It wasn't that much in first innings from what i saw which is why i think Latham scoring 68 off 64 in a 266 game was crucial. But yes Boult's triple strike is indeed a worthy candidate as well.
