Pakistan vs New Zealand | 2nd T20I | Dubai | Nov 2, 2018 | New Zealand Innings

I hope NZ score minimum 160 or ideally 170+, so we can see test out our chasing ability with scoreboard pressure and whether we deserve no.1 T20I ranking.

Shadab needs to work on maintaining a good length- he always drags down one or two balls for no reason

Tell me in our winning streak how many times have we chased 160+ against a decent side?

See first of all Pakistan does not choose oppositions , secondly having a bowling line up to restrict opposition is also a quality , it has to be appreciated.

mmmmm backing up the guy nothing wrong when getting spanking every bit of appreciation is needed.:sanga
For Pakistan it's a shock as for others to field as such is basically doing what they're supposed to.

Appreciation is fine as long as if it's done in moderation.

Shall we call some aliens from Mars
You know the jadoo type from the krish series

That's the only way we can test if we deserve the number 1 spot

Chased down like 190 against Australia in the Tri series final :)))

Yes just that game is all I could remember but I was hoping you could think beyond a few months. But even then I have been saying for ages we're a one man batting unit in Fakhar Zaman especially in chasing situations. If he had got out would we have chased it? - probably not. Just like if he gets out early on a very flat batting wicket can we still make 180 - 200 against a decent side? - again probably not.

What are you going on about?

Literally the last two times Pakistan chased in this win streak:

163 vs Zimbabwe
184 vs Australia

In fact, Pakistan has chased 10 times in this win streak and won all 10.

What do you want them to do? Leak runs in the 1st innings just for the sake of it?

I said decent sides not Zimbabwe lol

Can't blame us for not leaking runs and yes even if Fakhar fails this lineup can score 180+ against a decent attack on a very flat batting wicket.

136 v England - Won
116 v Windies - Won
104 v Windies - Won
112 v Windies - Won
125 v Windies - Won
103 v Sri Lanka - Won
125 v Sri Lanks - Won
154 v Windies - Won
163 v Zimbabwe - Won
184 v Australia - Won

Has Won all 10.

Didn't answer my question.

Our team needs to chase bigger totals in these meaningless T20Is so they can do it against full strength sides on batting paradises - as we will see come Aus WT20 2020.

Chasing 120 - 150 all the time isn't going to prepare us well, that's all I'm saying.

Refer to post 134 which addresses all of this.

If your bowlers are restricting opposition , what can you do ? Start bowling poorly ?

Brilliant strategy. In fact the next time we bat in the first innings, we should try and get out for around 80 so our bowers can practice defending low totals.

Who will make the runs? Faheem Ashraf with another 10 off 8 balls to take us to 180+ - is that the plan?

Glad to see Pak fieldong has retained its intensity- apart from hafeez :)) - despite the fact there is no scoreboard pressure

Shadab- wide

As I was saying- he needs to maintain consistency

They can't prepare and score when they play in UAE. When our bowling will have a bad day overseas in T20s you'll have your wish granted.

No not at all you're missing the point, we need to play on batting paradises, so out batsmen are tested and best prepared for not only the WT20 in 2 years but also the WC next yr.

Precisely - this is the problem. We're always chasing 120 - 150 when the average T20I scores among top 5 - 6 teams is usually 160+.

if you can score 150 here you will for sure score 170 on batting paradise

So you do agree top teams can score 160+ in UAE. Australia couldn't chase. Nzl couldn't chase. Let's see today if Nzl can score 160+

You think they should be playing on batting paradises, so you're hoping the bowlers leak 170+ on this UAE pitch?

Not following your logic.

At the innings break, let's stop the match and shift everyone to Australia so we can play the 2nd innings on a batting paradise.

Babar, Sarfraz, Malik, Asif, Faheem. Even Hafeez can on an absolute belter.

If we can make 300+ in ODIs and 180+ in T20Is without needing Fakhar to neutraise the attack, then I'll believe it. For now we're a one man batting side because none of those names can lead from the front in medium to high scoring games. If Fakhar lays out the foundation then they can feed off the pressure he's exerted on the bowlers but otherwise they ain't no match winners in my book.

Among the top 5 -6 teams what do you think or what is the average T20I score when they play each other? Because I can assure you it isn't 120 -150 like 80% of those chases in that 10 successful chases list of yours.

Why is Faheem following up yorkers with half volleys??

Where is Neesham? These Kiwis will be a real force in the WC next year.

That is relevant how for this current match that is ongoing?
