A big defeat before lunch tomorrow is very much on the cards. Relax - is this a surprise? We are an OK team. But Saffers are better. End of story. We can give most teams a game apart from Aussies who are in a class of their own. But most teams can also beat us just as easily as we can beat them (the major test playing countries mean).

Not a great time to be a Pakistan fan. Inzi is past out. Yousaf's heart is not in the game. End of Akhtar (which is good). And sadly, the cupboard is completely bare in terms of new talent. Bangladesh have better young players then we do. We have YK who is inconsistent but a good player. We have Gul and Asif who are good bowlers. Thats it. Three players of quality. The rest are either good odi players only (Malik, Afridi, etc). Or just not good enough.

This is a new era....the world cup, the england series are part of the old era. The Inzi-Woolmer era.

It's a new, inexperienced side. You can't expect them to come out and destroy SA in their first match. They are capable of it, but it just didn't work out today.
