Harris is so ***** and yet we can't get him out. pathetic. Third seamer badly needed. Get Misbah to bowl seam up or something.

Coach Jeff Lawson must be banging his head against the wall the way Asif and Gul have bowled this morning.

good nite folks take care and enjoy the rest of the inning, hoping we can get the tail out soon.

It seems to be a less productive session, its abt to end and just 1 wicket

Where is the wicket No 2 of the session?

Must be thinking since when did he sign up to coach the Indian team of the 90's.

A bad first day cost pakistan the last test match.

Now they've gone ahead and erased any advantage they had with the effort in the field today....

poor 1st session for pakistan, with most days likely to lose 7-10 overs due to bad light pakistan couldnt afford S.A draging out their inns out this long!

Can someone please explain the logic of going in with two seamers?
Asif and Gul will be in position to get in proper spells in the second innings.

For a country that supposedly is bursting with fast bowling talent, is there no one in the country who is good enough to be a third quickie in a Test match? It seems incredulous.

this is were we needed Afridi to finish off the tail and break partnerships
or even an akhtar & anyway according to most 'experts' here afridi should be no where near the team, let the 'specialist' Dani & Rehman run thru to the tail!

ive been saying this all along. 2 pace, 2 spin is the worst way to go. How many defeats do you need with this strategy before they ever learn.

72-1

quite embarrassing figures for asif .... seriously this guy does not do well on too bouncy tracks.

remember his time in the counties .. he didn't do well at all and people blamed the excessive bounce saying he never adjusted his length to it.

So I guess South African pitches are slow turners? We're missing a third pacer, both Gul and Asif look tired.

too bouncy tracks? Not doing well?

Are you even watching the game?

u again - plz tell me where asif bowled his best - and tell me if they were bouncy tracks ?

ok since u probably don't know ... he did his best on the low and slow tracks of sri lanka - oh remember now ?

kashif, i really hope 77 is not the year of your birth. It would be an utterly embarassing advertisment for humanity if it is.

But anyway SA take that session for sure. The first session they have won in this test but overall we still edge it on a pitch which is going to get better and better over the next couple of days.

We need to get them for 350 or less though. Not sure how long Harris will last after lunch..typical how he has to get his highest score against us. If they get more than 350 it will start to get difficult.

This was Asif apeal last over

we seem to be very concerned about our batsmen not being to bat on bouncy tracks ...

but i think we got something equally bad to worry about ...

our bowlers don't seem to know how to bowl on these wickets !

112.6 Mohammad Asif to Harris, 1 run, just on the off, gets him half forward, pushes at that, gets the edge but dropped by Kahn diving to his left from 2nd slip

evidence?

Folls forget 360 can SA make 400. I hope not but our body langiage is not good and shoaib is no where to be seen

The bolwers especially our pacers are trying, its just what do you expect from 3 bowlers, rehman the great spinning hope is not even bowling too much and we are unlicky ball is not carrying

Ok Kash! :))) :))) :)))

Which genius hired Zaheer or he is commentating Pre bono

Going in with two seamers is just never a good idea unless its a ragging turner. Its not just about getting 20 wickets. You have to make sure your bowlers have enough gas left in the tank to come back in the second innings. Asif already bowled over 30 overs so did Kaneria and Gul is pushing 25 overs. Thats way too many in a day and a half.

Back to the cricket...

we have totally let them get away with this. 259 for 7. Should never have scored more than 300. This is crucial time and these are crucial runs.

Come on Pak, sort it out.

Harris comes in and has an average of 4.00. Waqar says he can definitely bat.

NEVER DOUBT THE LEGEND THAT IS WAQAR !!!!!!

:))) :P :(

To make matters wose, SA have never had any intention of winning this match.

Its too late already! They wasted the new ball by bowling short and bouncers instead of yorkers.

I wouldn't say it is too late.

Still plenty of time in this test.

dukhti rag pey haath?

Since you have forgotten, KP was Asif's bunny in England - and the infamous Oval test would have been won by us because of exceptional bowling from Asif. Now England isn't slow and low...

I notice you didn't answer my question. I take it you aren't watching the game, and hence you should probably schtum and avoid yourself embarrasment.

Malik is just waiting for things to happen rather than trying to make it happen. He is young, he will learn.

We need to find a fast bowler quickly other wise we wont even win at home let alone oversease

For once - I dont think much blame can be attached to the players & captain.

Basically, the selectors 'hung' them out to dry with the selection of only 2 front line seam bowlers.

Maybe i am mistaken i thought the coach and the captain had the final say on the playing 11

Harris' highest score is 55 in the domestic cricket with the average of 13.93.
