What kind of surface do you want bro like lahore i wanted the one like windies in multan where spin can kill these sena teams and can bundle them out under 100 runs?

Pakistan has adopted a spin strategy in test like they did during misbah era in uae. Now pakistani wickets are flat surfaces, so to make them spin wickets they use these fans to dry it up, get the wicket to break and have spin from day 1 and hell on day 4

You need fans to remove excess water , placing them 4 days before game is beyond me . One can make a very dry surface just by stopping watering of pitch 48 hours before game starts - a very dry surface by this process ensures ball spins on day 1 AND top starts crumbling after 150 overs which is 5th session itself .
OVERKILL imo .

Those types of pitches are not productive at all. The Lahore pitch and the Rawalpindi pitches from the England series are the perfect template for Pakistan at home, and they shouldn't deviate too much from that. Lottery pitches can give you a big win but they can also backfire badly like they did in the second test against West Indies where Pakistan got hammered.

Dont know bhai. The groundman have been doing this from last year and it seems to be working better
 
Khurram in for Hasan. And Kamran in for Abdullah.
Abrar isn't very consistent to make bowlers hell. He was fine when novelty factor was there but not anymore.

Industrial fans and Patio heaters have become feature in pitch preparation for Pakistan in recent years. Makes it dry and makes it break quicker.

Having said that, I don't think Pakistan needs to take such extreme steps against SA. Having a normal turning track will do the job,. In fact, it may become a lottery pitch and backfire if SA wins the toss.
 
A 2-0 victory over WTC champions would help heal some of the wounds pak cricket inflicted on its supporters and will be remembered for long. A 1-1 would be forgettable.

A dead pitch favours SA, while a day 1 rank turner makes it a lottery pitch.

The middle ground i.e., a Lahore type pitch is Pakistan’s best bet to get the result it needs from this match.

Maharaj played last time in that series pak won comfortably in 2021 and pakistan lost the toss in pindi vs england batted last still won the game very comfortably it's about the skill how well you play spin pakistan is better than south africa in that way

Maharaj has improved a lot in the past 4 years, in my opinion

One thing that goes in Pakistan favor is that he didn't play the first match and might be slightly out of touch


If he is in form, it will be a treat to watch a faceoff between Nuaman and Maharaj's performances

Bowling group also needs Partnerships. Maharaj will lead his spinners in this game. There will be less let-offs by South Africa if Maharaj is in full song.

SA didn't really have a leader in their bowling attack in the last game


Needless to say, some of our right handed batters struggle against good left arm bowlers who have a good armer


If there is any player who can make a difference in this series for SA, it's Maharaj - provided he is in form

:D I knowww...and I wish if they had him in. That would make a much better squad. I would have him over struggling Shafiq. I forgot about kamran. So Kamran in place of Babar! This is all hypothetical - PCB would go unchanged anyway.

Babar is not going anywhere... But yeah Abdullah should... selectors should be willing to give preference to Kamran. He played well in domestics and earned his place. Although his last few innings were also not that great but Abdullah is a misfired bullet..
 
@Nikhil_cric do you thik total 310 over can be Bowl in this test? Need your view because I'm gonna put lots of money i think 310 will be not bowled. Don't forget Maharaj will be coming so he also can make different.

All those saying Pak should have 3 spinners (NA, SK , Abrar) need to have their heads examined. Abrar couldn’t finish a match last year and has the worst figures for a spinner in Pak. He’s doing fine in LO let him relax and learn control.

We may end up losing the toss and fielding first. 3 spinners aren’t gonna do much then. We need a good new ball bowler. I don’t know if Hasan is gonna step up or Jamal is the answer. Perhaps Khurram but he is perennially injury prone too. SSA was a bit wayward but he’s desperate for a medium Pace support bowler from the other end who can also maintain control.
 
Seems like everyone has their gun out for Hassan Ali but I think that he bowled pretty well. Got some seam movement as well. He is a good bowler , just needs to play a few matches to get back to his best. Pakistan is not exactly brimming with fast bowling talent at the moment and Hasan Ali has experience as well , and on his day can add some valuable runs down the order.

I understand that he has only 10 wickets in his last 10 matches ( 19 innings , 70 runs/wkt) . But against south Africa in this match he looked better.
 
I would even consider going with extra battery and one less bowler. Maybe drop Hasan for kamran ghulam. Seems like it will be around 150 totals with around 50 over per innings.

A fast bowing all-rounder is what we need at 8. That would optimize team balance under the circumstances.

KG should come in but in A Shafique’s stead, who should be dropped for his fielding if not for his batting. Shan opens with Imam. KG takes his chance at No. 3. Minimal disruption to rest of order.

Aamer Jamal in for Hassan, who’s been averaging 70 per wicket as highlighted in thread.
 
I wouldn't change too much but instead take out Abdullah & move Shan to open. Bring in Kamran Ghulam in the middle order.

Good to see Shan get some runs as well as Imam continuing his form from domestic cricket. We do tend to attack them quite a bit in this forum, but give credit where it is due.
 
Why do you guys want to disrupt Shan to accommodate KG. Also Abdullah was fine in second innings. I think KG has to wait or come in place of a bowler perhaps.

Shan has always been an opener.. Not like we are asking Sajid to open.

Abdullah scoring 40 and being called fine when in reality 40 is literally his highest ceiling tells you everything you need to know about Abdullah as a batsmen.

I know Abdullah has had his struggles recently but let's relax with the exaggerations.

He is one of two players on this entire team with a double century in Tests. In his early career, he has as many POTM awards as Babar/Rizwan/Salman combined in Tests.

The goal shouldn't be looking to discard Abdullah but rather, work with him to fix his technical issues because he is a player with high upside in Tests.

Against Sri lanka, a washed up Usman Khawaja who couldnt buy a run in BGT and wtc final smoked Sri lanka for 200

Bro sri lanka is still considered a hardest place with their paddy fields where it spin like crazy i think abdullah was mvp in that aeries how easily he played sri lankan spinners was just too good
 
the test match should start today on Sunday.

Why PCB always start a test match on Monday. I think its 3rd time now in this year i guess the schedule is mind boggling.

PCB does not really care about test matches
 
Asif Afridi will most likely replace Hasan Ali tomorrow, as he can at better than Abrar, and also Abrar will be required to fus on white ball for now, and they would not want to mess with his bowling.
 
I don't expect the Pindi pitch to be a crazy turner. I think it might be similar to the pitch we saw against England last year, which is what suits Pakistan aswell.

Pakistan will probably be unchanged. Though I would prefer if they add Khurram in-place of Hasan Ali. South Africa will drop Subrayen to bring in Maharaj.

Get guys who get steep bounce. Forget pace. 130 to 140 with bounce is plenty pace.

Apart from Shaheen at nearly 6'6, there's no other bowler who is that tall or could get that steep bounce.
 
Pindi will likely not be as spinner friendly as Lahore so I think they will stick with the same team. Although Khurram is a much better bowler than Hasan and deserves to be selected. Took 9 wickets in two tests here against Bangladesh last year.

No azhar hinted pitch is dry they will likely to go with 3 spinners which is right way.
