So just because he can come off once every 10 games we're going to give him a free ride? He ruins the balance of the team, is not an all rounder and isn't good enough to take a batsman's slot.

That's his maximum output 50 and then out; those were one of the flattest pitches ever produced in the history of cricket and all he could manage was a 50 odd that wasn't even match winning.


You know those were awfully flat pitches when Pakistan is scoring 300+ consistently.

First we picked Asif for finisher role. He did not prove his selection right at that time. We dropped him and replaced him with unfit nervy Umar Akmal who could not deliver and than we brought back Asif again.


When we first dropped Asif Ali than that time was perfect for NCA to call Hasan Mohsin and Khusdil Shah to work on their fitness and skills and than give them a long rope in all List A matches for Pakistan A against England and New Zealand. If one of them excelled than he should have replaced Asif Ali than. Before series vs Aus we did not have any option other than Unfit Umar Akmal who was in form.



This is all hindsight now. Asif scored two back to back fifties against top team England.

Anyone not selecting shadab against NZ and SA would be crazy

I repeat. If pitches have assistance for Shadab than pick him surely. If not than pick Asif Ali. Shadab is an Average leggie who either succeds against average batsmen and only gets top batsmen out when pitches are spin friendly and he gets sharp turn and kick (bounce).


I know NZ & especially SA are weak against leggies.

If pak do somehow win all 4 games (less than 10% chance) , then its more likely that aus will miss out rather than NZ looking at the points table.

The most likely scenario is pakistan will beat afganistan and lose atleast 2 of the 3 games vs bangladesh, sa n NZ . They will be underdogs in all 3 games.

Love pak more than anything, last sunday they literally threw there weapons before a ball was bowled.

Was at headingly yesterday Must be the worst SL team in history at least they were trying to get the BASICS right. Pak cant put 2 balls in a row on a good length & there tail starts at 4!!

Depends on score/overs. But for example

Lets say

Pakistan bat first and score 350 in full 50 overs.

SA got out for 200 in 35 overs.

+1.3 will be added.

I don’t think ‘rolling the dice’ would be a good idea in a must-win game.

Imad has been economical with his bowling and can hit a few at 7. Asif is a nothing player. Fielding wise both are poor.

I am excited to see how Haris performs. He was poor against the short ball against windies and hasn’t played since. PPers often call him the best timer in the team.

With SL's win yesterday, it's actually quite possible. Even if England wins 1, they'll be at 10 points, if Pakistan can manage to win the next 4 games they'll have 11 pounts. I Pakistan can even make it with 3 more wins as long as England lose all their remaining games, which is possible as they face Aussies, India and NZ.

-bat imad up the order, he is in form
