Malik has been horrible for 2 years now so it wasn’t surprising while Asif is just a hitter of the ball not a batsman who will score centuries as even his domestic stats represent.

Haris should have been playing over Malik from the very start but again hats off to the Coach, captain and chief selector being there.
 
Is this a good call to send Hari? I want PAK team to show more flexibility here - most unlikely that PAK will be all-out here, why not send Imad and try to blast few quick overs?
 
I can understand criticism if the wicket was good and we were batting like donkeys...
But this track looks slow and getting slower...
So maybe better to wind it in and see how the Saffies bat in this wicket..

Listening to Mark is so refreshing especially in a test match always love hearing him call a test match he'll make it fun to watch. I don't need the technical insight we can have that in the post match show. Easily my favorite commentator since Richie Benaud.
 
how selfish is babar and it's not that he don't have shots, he don't even try them and don't even rotate strike on every ball, enough of this he is young and will improve with time excuse. if he didn't have the ability I could have lived with but not live with his phattu intent

One of the many issues of this management is their rigidness.
 
Any kind of victory in the nxt 4 matches will give leeches like malik hafeez wahab safraz imad reason to prolong there disgusting careers by another 12 months.
 
babar should open the innings when he can pierce the field and get quick runs , his utility coming after 15th over reduces a significant bit.
 
Really all this does is show the caliber of our players and how none of these guys would get into the playing XI of any of the top 5 teams and this is why we are where we are.

Oh but according to PP experts this is a 300+ wicket. These guys talk about the wickets like they are batting on the wickets. Like those types of post should be blocked because none of us sitting here can say what type of score is good on a wicket. Still remember those guys saying that England match wicket was a 500 run wicket. :facepalm:
 
Babar’s biggest issue is that he only relies on poor deliveries to score boundaries. A batsman of his talent should be able to make something out of nothing as well.

He is a very content fellow , hardly any drive in him.
 
no hasan ali or asif ali this pair needs to up the run rate. Anything less than 300 will be curtains for Pakistan thwy need ro win convincingly for improvement in net run rate.

Until that last boundary he was playing with a strike rate of 75ish and that is unacceptable at this level and specially in this situation
 
Haris Sohail oozes class. I can not believe they dare to drop someone like him!

Haris Sohail would even make a better opener than Imam that's how good he is against fast bowlers.

That shot from Harrid shows how clueless our captain coach and selectors were. Harris should have been playing against India and Aus

Ability yes, but he needs fire in his belly. He still has 15 overs today, and all the time to do something special.
 
kamal at haris. I have been telling this platform that haris is a lot better than asif and malik/hafeez.

He is playing absolutely perfect - on this track our 1, 2 & 4 plays 140 balls and scores 44, 44, 20 - what do you expect him to do?
 
Can’t believe they had this class batsman sitting out for Malik
